[00:02:02] Speaker B: All right. Hey, good evening, everyone.
I hope everyone is doing well. It has been a very eventful week for us down here, and extremely trying for all the people in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, Georgia.
Some real catastrophic issues that are going on. So say a prayer for everyone.
I'm gonna get right on into it because we are unlimited time today, and I'm working off of the generator. So that is what has us on air right now, is the generator. And I have a whole bunch of stuff running on it, so we're gonna be fast. Listen, we're on Genesis, and we are on chapter 19, which is page 26. And we've covered a lot of stuff like that. Adam's faith has been tested. We know that. You know, he is just. He's.
Abraham's faith has been tested, and we know he has gone through a lot. And, boy, I'll tell you what, it has been absolutely incredible on everything that's happened. So let's get to it. The destruction of sodom and gomorrah. Chapter 19. And there came two angels to Sodom and even.
And lot sat at the gate of Sodom.
And lot, seeing them, rose up to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground, and he said, behold. Now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house and tarry all night and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early. And go on your ways. And they said, nay, but we will abide in the street all night.
And he pressed upon them greatly. And they turned in unto him and entered into his hall, into his house. And he made them a feast, and did not bake unleavened bread. And they did eat. But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of sodom compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter.
And they called unto lot and said unto him, where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us that we may know them. And lot went out the door unto them and shut the door after him and locked or and said, I pray you, brethren, do not do so wickedly. Behold, now I have two daughters which I have not known a man. Let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes, only unto these men do nothing. Therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, stand back. And they said again, this one fellow came in to sojourn, and he and his will needs be. Be a judge now. We will deal worse with thee than with them.
And they press sore upon the man, even lot, and came near to break the door.
But the Mendez put forth their hand and pulled lot into the house to them and shut the door.
And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great.
So when they wearied themselves to find the door, and the men said unto lot, has thou here any besides son in law? And thy sons and thy daughters? And whatsoever hast thou in the city, bring them out of this place. For we will destroy this place. And the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the Lord. And the Lord has sent us to destroy it.
So we have a lot going on. We see right now that these angels, these angels that have come down, and they're pretty much laying down exactly what's going to happen to Sodom. And these town people are. They're wicked. And of course, lot's sitting here and he's like, hey, I have two daughters.
Do is what your will, but please don't hurt these men. And of course, these people have, you know, they don't care to. They have no morals whatsoever. And so now you said, listen, you're going to gather people, the ones that follow. We're blinding these people. They blinded them, okay? And you're going to get out. Get out of the city, because we're going to destroy it.
And the Lord has sent us to do that. So he's very clear about what's going to happen. And you can see everything going on, the townspeople and the angels. And, you know, it amazes me.
You know, we had them come in, they ate. They did all this. But now it's amazing to me that you could see God sending them down, hey, listen, we're going to destroy it. This is what's going to happen. So here we go.
And lot went out and spoke to his sons in law, which married his daughters and said, up, get ye out of this place. For the Lord will destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law.
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened lot, saying, arise, take thy wife and thy two daughters, which are here least thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
And while he lingered, these men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife and upon the hand of his two daughters, the Lord being merciful unto them, and they brought him forth and set him without the city. So they're dragging him. Come on, let's go. You're. You're leaving?
God has a plan. And I think this is where people, we all are at fault on this. You ever notice that anytime that we try to make a decision, anytime that we try to do something which we think is right or in our best interest, and it goes really, really wrong, and that's because we are ruining his plan. We are, you know, our free will has interfered with God's plan.
Sometimes we have to just be patient and wait. And it's hard to do because we think this is the best way, the best route to go. And we turn around and find out, guess what? It is not. And then we suffer more. We suffer more because of that. So, you know, we have to. We have to be careful. And you can see, here they are. You're leaving. Come on.
Your wife, your two daughters, you, let's go. And they're pulling them out. Come on, you're walking. Let's go.
And it came to pass when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, escape for thy life. Look not behind thee neither stay thou in all the plain. Escape to the mountain, least you be consumed. They're being very clear. You will go to the mountain. Don't stay out in the plane. That's no good. Okay. We know what's going to happen. And don't look back.
Don't worry about what's behind you.
It's like I tell a lot of people, look through the windshield. Don't look at the rear view mirror. Sometimes what's behind you is not going to matter. We have to worry about today, and then we pray that we get it tomorrow because it's not guaranteed. But look at what is in front of you. And another hard thing that we do as human beings that doesn't always work out. When we do that, we worry about something that's behind us. And we know that worry is one of those things that we talk about. Again, you are not going to add a height, depth, you know, anything by worrying a little bit.
And that's what it is. So here we go. And lot said to him, oh, not so, my lord. Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight. And thou has magnified thy mercy, which thou has shown unto me and saving my life. And I cannot escape to the mountain. Least some evil take me and I die. Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one. Oh, let me escape thither. This is not a little one. And my soul shall live. And he said unto him, see, I have accepted thee concerning this also, that I will not overthrow this city. For thou for which has thou hast spoken, haste thee escape thither, for I cannot do anything till thou become thither. There. Therefore, the name of the city which was called Zohar.
The sun was risen upon the earth when lot entered into Zohar. And the Lord reigned upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah, Brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven.
It's going to be destroyed. The plane, everything, the whole thing around is going to be destroyed, you know, with brimstone and fire.
It has to be. These people are wicked. And imagine if they were wicked back then. Imagine what today is with the way that not only our leaders, other countries and everything else is going on. How wicked.
How wicked it is.
1 second, guys. Yes, I'm gonna show.
Okay, bye.
And he overthrew those cities and all the plain and all the inhabitants of the city which grew upon the ground. But his wife looked back from behind, and she became a pillar of salt. He was very clear. Don't look back. And again, what did she do?
She looked in the rearview mirror. She looked back. And because she did not obey, God has no favoritism. He's not partial. He made explicit instructions. We're going to see that again, this thing play out with Aaron when he is high priest and his sons. We're going to find out as we go on. Added a little bit of incense to where they shouldn't have. Okay? And it cost them their lives. When God says, do it this way.
And I'm giving you, I'm telling you, don't look back. Be obedient.
And she did not.
So due to that fact, what happened? She became a pillar. Assault.
And that was it.
So, oh, man. And Abraham got up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord. And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah. And toward all the land of the plain and beheld. And lo, the smoke of the country went up as smoke of a furnace. And it came to pass. When God destroyed the cities of the plain. That God remembered Abraham and sent lot out of the mists of the overthrow.
When he covered.
When he overthrew the cities in which the Lord dwelt.
He's still remembering the promise of Abraham. And everything that he told them. And God never forgets. And he never forgets. And he keeps his word. We're the ones who fail. But God keeps his word. And Abraham could see. He is seeing at this point how powerful. Another example from the miracle of how powerful God is.
Both cities like a furnace. So I think it's just absolutely wonderful that. And it goes to show again God's love for us.
And you can see what's going on. And if you remember, Abraham said, hey, listen. If there is just but one in the city, will you destroy? No.
What if there's 30? What if there's 20? What if there's ten? What if there's 50 or 40?
And God said, no. So he remembered his promise. And that's why lot, his wife, daughters were taken out. Now, his wife wasn't obedient at that point. Cost her, and it cost the family. So here we go.
And lot went up out of Zoar. And dwelt in the mountain. And his two daughters with him. For he feared to dwell in Zoar. And he dwelt in a cave and his two daughters. And the firstborn said unto the younger, our father is old. And there is not a man in the earth to come into us after the manner of all the earth.
Come, let us make our father drink wine. And we will lie with him. And we may preserve the seed of our father.
This is a scheming type thing. And his daughters are doing this. Which we look at today as just unfathomable.
The ultimate sin, one of them, and perverse.
And of course, they're saying, you know, we want to carry on lot's name justifying it too.
So let's find out if this is a good thing or a bad thing. We shall see.
And they made their father drink wine that night. And the firstborn went in and lay with their father. And he perceived not when she lay down nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, behold, I lay yesternight with my father.
Let us make him drink wine this night also, and go in and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also. And the younger arose and lay with him. And he perceived not when she went to lay down, nor when she arose. Thus both the daughters of lot with child by their father, and the firstborn bare son and called his name Moab. And the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day. And the younger, she also bear a son and called his name Benami. And the same the father of the children of the Amon unto this day.
So here we go. Now, the two children that they bore are now responsible for.
And you can see the two different groups. Amen. And we also, the Moabites. Um, is it a good thing? Is it a bad thing? We're gonna, we're gonna find that out as we go along. But it's very interesting that, um, so far God has not punished them, but we're gonna find out whether they're punished down the road. Um, it's gonna be very interesting. Now, here's the tests of Abimelech. And this is page 29. And of course, we are in chapter 20.
And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country and dwelled between Kadesh and shur and sojourn traveled in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah, his wife, she is my sister. And Abimelech, the king of Gerar, sent and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in the dream by night and said to him, behold, thou arthem but a dead man for the women which thou has taken, for she is a man's wife.
So we know that, that Abraham went there and of course, is like, listen, I don't, I don't want to be killed. And Sarah's beautiful. And we know that Sarah was Sarai. But God changed the name, and this way he could live. You know, you, you know, you're my sister. Hey. But a bit like the king. Everyone was like, they really looked at her. And of course, God came to him in a dream and said, you're in big trouble here. Bad things are going to happen to you.
You were a dead man. So here we go. But Abimelech had not come near her. And he said, lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation?
Said he not unto me, she is my sister. And she, even she herself said, he is my brother.
It's very funny. Now this goes to the New Testament, and if you remember, Christ has said, when we get there, who is my mother, who is my brother?
And looked upon everyone, he said, they are my mother, my brothers, my sister. So Abimelech kind of got away with the wording here because he's not lying, but at the same time it's, you can see how it goes. Again. We're going to the New Testament and then back here again. And this is the foundation of proving the Bible. This is the foundation where we're, we're able to travel back and forth. And it's very interesting how this is going on as we're paying close attention to everything that's being done.
In the integrity of my heart and innocent innocency of my hands I have done this. And God, and God said unto him in the dream, yea, I know that thou did this in the integrity of thy heart. For I also withheld thee from sinning against me. Therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. Now therefore restore the man his wife, for he is a prophet.
So now we know, we know Abraham is not just favored by God, he is a prophet. God is naming him just as he names high priests and everything else. He is a prophet. We, he's prophetic. Things are going to happen and you're going to see it because it's going to come true. God said, it's going to come true, therefore it will.
And if thou restore her not know that thou shall surely die, thou and all that are thine. So not just you, Abimelech, but everything and anybody is going to be destroyed. You're going to die.
Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told all these things in their ears and the men were sore afraid. Then Abimelech called Abraham and said unto him, what has thou done to us? And what have I offended thee that thou has brought on me and my kingdom a great sin. Thou has done deeds unto me that ought not to be done. And Abimelech is kind of stating his case. He stated it to God and now he's telling Abraham, listen, what did I do to you that I deserve this?
You know, what did I do to offend you?
So we're going to see that again in job. So it's very interesting. You're going to see parts of the Bible come. And they come alive. Not in just this part, but here they are over here. There they are over there. They lead one direction. They lead another direction. And I love that. Because if you have enjoyed and read the entire Bible, you will see this coming true. But I want to make this point to everyone as we go along. Because it's very eye opening and everything that is going on in the background. And Abimelech is not the only one scared. Once he told his servants they were afraid. No, you've got to do the right thing. So there's a peer pressure that is coming upon Abimelech.
Listen, send this guy out of here.
You know what to do.
So they are afraid. And.
And Abimelech said unto Abraham, what sayest thou that thou has done this thing? And Abraham said, because I thought, surely the fear of God is not in this place. And they will slay me for my wife's sake.
And yet indeed she is my sister. She is the daughter of my father, but the daughter of my mother. And she became my wife. And it came to pass when God caused me to wander from my father's house. That I said unto her, this is thy kindness that thou shall show upon me at every place. Whether we shall come. Say of me, he is my brother and Abimeleche. And he's making. Or he's making it very clear. Abraham's making it very clear to her. This is a perfect example. And he's saying everything. Okay, I'm not lying to you. And here it is. And I didn't think that this was a godly place.
A lot of wickedness going around back then. So can you imagine Abimelech hearing this and then hearing God come down and doing this? But God has spared Abimeleche. He has done a miracle for him and his servants. So let's see what Abimelech does. And Abimelech took sheep and oxen and men servant and women servants. And gave them unto Abraham and restored him Sarah his wife. And Abimelech said, behold, my land is before thee. Dwell where it pleases pleaseth thee. And he said unto Sarah, he said, beholden, I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver. Behold, he is to thee a covering of thy eyes. Unto all that are with thee and with all others.
Thus she was reproved.
And you. And you can see it favored. And how much does the silver really amount to? Well, about $128,000. And he says, you can also have anywhere you want to go. Go ahead and go. But Abimelech is in charge of everyone in that land. So, you know, here it is.
Behold, he is to thee a covering of the eyes unto all that are with thee and with all other. Thus she was reproved.
Abimelech understands. Listen, that you're not going to have any problems.
God is there with him and will make sure that men don't look upon her any way that they shouldn't.
So Abraham prayed unto God, and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his maidservants, and they bear children. For the Lord had fast closed up the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah, Abraham's wife.
Can you imagine? You know, he restored Abimelech. He did that. And.
But God also had to do what God always does. He's just. And it's wonderful. And we were on chapter 21, and, guys, I hate to call this short, we're going to see the birth of Isaac, and what is going to go on, and the reason I say that is, is because I am, like I said, I'm running on a generator. My mind is all over the place.
And I want to tell you that something before we go. And we're on chapter 21, the birth of Isaac, and it is 929. And we got that down, and we'll lock that in this last week and this. And this year. This year was really, really trying, and I don't say this to gain sympathy or anything else, but I will tell you, we had a pretty bad flood here at the house, and the insurance ended up covering it. And thank God for that. Thank God for that. And, you know, then we. I lost a granddaughter and. And together as a family here, because my, my son lives here with us and his fiance, and always reassuring, encouraging, and what a tough time for her to have to live with this. They said that she would live two days and lived an extra 24. Okay? Now, all the doctors called around to different places, St. Jude's, all the different hospitals in different states and everything else, and they all said, no, she's not going to live. She'll probably live about two days. She lived 24.
Okay, I got to put my hand out, and she held my hand, and the same with everyone else, and we got to hold her and an angel just before us, letting us know, don't lose faith. It might not turn out the way you want, but there's a reason for that. It's not that time. Uh, you know, God has decided that or whatever, but I'm going to tell you at the same time, he just strengthens your faith. And now that we've went through this hurricane chalene, um, it did a lot of damage to the roof, did damage to the siding, the facial part. Um, we have a tree that's dead, uh, took out some gardenia bushes, which I absolutely love because they're. They're wonderful when they bloom, and it makes the back porch smell so good.
But we weren't catastrophically. We're still without power four days. But the generator I bought, like, six years ago, seven years ago, has just been basically sitting in the garage. I fired up every once in a while just to make sure everything's good, but it's been sitting in the garage.
God made sure with the timing that he has or what happens, that it was available.
So we've been trying to give people free coffee, charge their phones up. We have, you know, we have lights. We are able to get on the Internet like we are here.
And I've talked to the adjuster already, and we're in a state of emergency, so we're going to file it under a catastrophic, which won't affect the policy.
How can anything like that happen? That's God, that's the workings that he does.
So probably a little hefty of a deductible, but it won't affect the policy, which is good, so they won't raise the rates because it's considered catastrophic.
If you've seen the reels, if you've seen the videos of what has happened to our fellow men and our sisters and brothers and Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, it is absolutely devastating.
And then you see little glimmers of miracles. So when you say there's no miracles, people going out in car height, deep water, and rescuing a little girl and a boy and grabbing, you know, what they needed and bringing them in, or, you know, be it here or be it somewhere else in the world, you see people rescuing dogs, you see people.
This is how God works.
It's those small things that you were seeing where a man under the most cruel and in unusual circumstances, has compassion, empathy, sympathy, and says, you know what? This is the right thing to do. Let's jump in and make a difference.
That is God's work, that are those angels that are there that help us, and how blessed are we?
So don't forget those little things, because every day, every day of your life, if you're really paying attention, if you're really looking, you will see these things.
And I love that. But it's always on God's time, and we just have to learn to be patient. But listen, thank you for joining in today in life. Walk with Christ, God. And as I tell everybody, the Bible is open to so many different interpretations. I'm not a priest, I'm not a rabbi, I'm not a deacon, I'm not clergy, I'm nobody. I'm just a guy that loves to read this. And I like to try to interpret my way, my interpretation, share it with you. You might have a completely different interpretation, but I'm looking at the background. It's poetry, but it is a love story all the way down the line, and we're going to see that and we're going to go back and forth, New Testament, Old Testament, you know, in different places so that I can point that out of all the different things going on in the background, we did that in Genesis.
We had questions. Right. First of all, how can a serpent talk?
Why isn't the serpent on his belly at that time? We're seeing a little intricate things that are happening and looking at the poetry. You're almost reading this like poetry, too.
Very hard to read sometimes. So I pardon myself if I mispronounce or anything else. I mean, no ill will or anything else, but I enjoy this. So with that, pray, because we have a couple more storms that look like they're coming our way and going to the way of the people that are already inundated with disaster.
So say a prayer for everyone. Remember, try to be kind, even, no matter how tough this world is, take the extra step. Think first, make an example. Show everybody how powerful God is by your actions, by your responses, and with that, love you all. God bless. Thank you for tuning in and we'll catch you next week, hopefully with power.
You know, we have no air. We have it for a while, but we have what we need. God will give us what we need and remember that. Not be what we want, but it is definitely what we need. Just don't lose your faith and don't lose your hope and don't lose your love for other people with that. Take care.
Bye.
