We're on chapter 16 and we're going to go ahead and read from here. And we see John has made it very clear of the things and what his position is and how he's coming. Remember, he's come out from the wild. He's here making the way, proclaiming in the name of Christ, God, hey, I'm coming. But the one that follows me is there's the one that's how you're saved. [00:03:26] He's the one. I can't even unloose his shoes. So here we go then, said Thomas, which is called Didymus, to his fellow's disciples. Let us also go, that we may die with them. Then Jesus came. He found that he had already lain in the grave four days already. Now this is when they're already heading up to go and see Lazarus. Okay? [00:03:52] And if you remember John eleven, and we were right at the bottom there. Jesus said unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And that was chapter eleven, verse 14. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there to the intent. You may believe. [00:04:13] You know I wasn't there. I'm here with you. So I'm glad that I wasn't there when this happened. So now you may know. You may know without a shadow of a doubt that you will believe in me that I am the son of God. He is very, very clear. [00:04:36] No dispute about it. [00:04:39] Nevertheless, let us go unto him. [00:04:43] So now we're on 19. And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary to comfort them concerning their brother. Then Martha, as soon as she had heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him. But Mary sat still in the house. Then Martha said unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hast been here, my brother had not died. [00:05:07] But I know that even now, whatsoever thou will ask of God, it will. [00:05:14] God will give it thee. Jesus said unto her, thy brother shall rise again. [00:05:21] That's verse 23. [00:05:24] Think about this. [00:05:26] She has such a belief, Martha has such a belief in Christ, knowing without a shadow of the doubt that he is the savior. He has come here, and Christ is building his character the whole way through here. Because remember, he's not coming here to punish the world, but he's coming here to save the world. [00:05:50] So without a shadow of a doubt, I know. Whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee. [00:06:03] Now, how does she know this? [00:06:06] Because she already knows the miracles. Because she's seen things. [00:06:11] Because she knows he's the savior. See, the words are great in the Bible, but the true word is what God was teaching us. The parables and everything else. It's so much more than the Bible, because the Bible understand. The Bible is that part that tells us of it's a testimony. [00:06:32] But when God was there, he was trying to explain to them, listen, you can know the scriptures. You can see all of this. But here I am in the flesh. Here I am, right here before you. [00:06:46] That's more powerful than the scriptures. [00:06:50] God is right before you. [00:06:55] Thy brother shall rise again. [00:06:58] Then Martha said unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day. And Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Now he's asking her a question. Listen, what you don't understand. He's telling Martha, I am the resurrection. [00:07:35] You believing in me right here, right now. [00:07:39] I'm sent here from my father. God is in me. I am in him. [00:07:46] Jesus never takes the glory. He always gives it to the father. He always gives it to God. But really he is God. [00:07:55] He's the son of God. [00:07:57] So therefore. And God says, when he was baptized, I am well pleased. This is my son in whom I am well pleased. So he's telling her, now, listen, I am the resurrection and the life. [00:08:16] It's huge. When you hear mean, that's huge. She said unto him, yea, Lord, I believe that thou art the Christ, the son of God, which should come into the world. [00:08:30] And when she had said so, she went her way and called Mary her sister, secretly saying, the master has come. [00:08:39] He calleth for thee. As soon as she had heard that, she arose quickly and came unto him. Now, Jesus had not yet come into the town, but was in a place where Martha met him. The Jews then, which were with her in the house and comforted her when they saw Mary, that she rose up, hastily went out, followed her, saying, she goes unto the grave to weep. There, see, I didn't know where she was heading. Then when Mary was come where Jesus was and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, lord, if thou hadest been here, my brother had not died. When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping, which came with her, he groaned in the spirit and was. [00:09:30] Now, remember we said, jesus comes here in the flesh. He is experiencing everything suffering. He's groaning, he's aching. [00:09:40] He's been tempted. He's had so many different things that have gone on. Anger. [00:09:48] We saw that everything that we experience, he's experienced, except for one big difference. He did it flawlessly. [00:09:59] So let's go down here to 34 John eleven. [00:10:05] Jesus, of course, had said, where have you laid him? And they said unto him, lord, come and see. Jesus wept. He cried, he's going through the emotions. [00:10:16] And he said, the Jews, behold, now he loved him. [00:10:21] And some of them said, could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind and have caused even that even this man should not have died. Jesus therefore, again groaning in himself, come to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. Jesus said, take away. [00:10:42] Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said unto him, lord, by this time he stinketh. For he had been dead four days. Jesus said unto her, said I not unto thee. That if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldst see the glory of God. And again, not to himself. Not his power or anything like that. God's power. See the glory of God. When they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. [00:11:20] Jesus lifted up his eyes and said. Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I know that thou hearest me always. But because of the people which stand by, I said it. That they may believe that thou hast sent me. [00:11:40] He's telling the people out there. [00:11:44] I am proving to you now God exists. And I'm proving to you that God has sent me his son. I am his son. [00:11:54] And when he had thus spoken, he cried with a loud voice. [00:11:59] Verse 34. Lazarus, come forth. [00:12:03] And he that was dead came forth. Bound hand and foot with grave clothes. And his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus said to them, loose him and let him go. [00:12:20] Take all that stuff off of him. [00:12:23] See that it's Lazarus. See that he has come forth. [00:12:29] See that God can do anything. [00:12:33] And now see that God sent me. I am here to serve you. [00:12:41] And that was the wonderful thing about Christ. He didn't just come here to save us. He served. Look at what he's doing. He's serving. [00:12:50] It's amazing. [00:12:51] Then many of the Jews which came to Mary. And had seen the things which Jesus did. Believed on him. But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees. And told them what things Jesus had done. Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council. And said. [00:13:11] What do we for this man do with many miracles? [00:13:17] Now, you can see now that they're upset. He does many miracles. They're telling you this, but are they telling you this because of their own fear? Did they fear Jesus? He's not giving them anything to fear. [00:13:30] They're worried about their own power. And their own political position. [00:13:35] And that's what they're worried about. [00:13:40] What do we for this man doth many miracles if we let him. Thus alone, all men will believe on him. And the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation. [00:13:55] You see what they're thinking about? [00:13:57] Are they thinking at all about God? Are they thinking all about how God is right there in the flesh. Here's his only son. [00:14:10] Christ is in him. He is in Christ the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, Trinity. [00:14:19] And they're worried about, take away both our place and nation. [00:14:25] And one of them, named Ciaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto him, ye know nothing at all, nor consider that it is expedient for us that no one should die for the people. [00:14:39] That no one man should die for the people. And that the whole nation not perish. So now they're already talking. And he spoke, he not of himself, but being the high priest that year. He prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation. [00:14:56] And not only for that nation only. But he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. [00:15:09] Then from that day forth, they took counsel together for to put him to death. [00:15:17] Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews. But went thence unto a country near to the wilderness. Into a city called Ephraim. Where he continued with his disciples. [00:15:33] So much so and so full of greed. And they're like, listen, we don't need to have the nation killed. We don't want to lose our positions here. Here's the answer to the problem. [00:15:45] If one person dies, then the rest of us will be just fine. [00:15:51] Not only selfish and narcissistic and arrogant and cruel and just detestable. But it had to be done. [00:16:01] It had to be done. That was the whole purpose of Christ coming. So all those things aside, it was still a blessing. [00:16:11] And the Jews Passover was near at hand. And many went out of the country, up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves. [00:16:21] Then sought they for Jesus. [00:16:25] Let's flip on over here. The wind's bothering me. Here among themselves, as they stood in the temple. What you think that they will not come to the feast? Now, both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a commandment that if any man knew where he were, he should show it that they might take him. [00:16:52] So at that point, and thank God for Victoria, she just told me that my mic was down a little bit. So let's see if that does a little bit better. [00:17:03] So at that point we know that they are looking and telling anyone, listen, if you know where he's at, understand something, you better tell us. [00:17:21] Chapter twelve. [00:17:23] Mary anoints Christ. [00:17:26] Then Jesus six days before the passover, which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. [00:17:36] There they made him a supper and Martha served. But Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. So imagine Lazarus dies. He's there for four days. Martha's worried about Lord. He's going to stink. Mary. Mary's saying, same thing. He's going to stink. And he's like, roll away the stone. [00:18:00] And he calls Lazarus forth. And now he's eating supper. [00:18:06] When Mary took a pound of ointment of Spikenard. Very costly. And anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. And the house was filled with the odor of the ointment. [00:18:22] Think about this. Her most expensive. [00:18:26] Not a treasure she saved up here for earth. But a treasure that she saved up for Christ. She's got this ointment, very expensive. And they're telling you that, take note of this, very expensive. [00:18:41] And she uses it and washes Christ's feet. And then uses her hair. [00:18:51] And uses his hair to go ahead and do what? She wipes his feet. [00:19:03] Then said one of the disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him. Why was not this ointment sold for three hundredpence and given to the poor? [00:19:17] And we already know Simon really has no intention of giving it at all. [00:19:24] He doesn't care. [00:19:27] We know this. [00:19:29] Simon's all about money. [00:19:34] Then Jesus said, let her alone. Against the day of my burying. Hath she kept this for the poor? [00:19:44] Always ye have with you, but for me ye have not always much. People of the Jews, therefore, knew that he was there. [00:19:57] And they came not for Jesus's sake only. But that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead. But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus to death also. [00:20:12] I mean, after all, you can't have Lazarus out there, right? Because that's living proof. And as you remember going over, we're doing a trial of God. Roskella and I are God on trial. And this is one of those things that's coming up now. [00:20:32] A perfect example. [00:20:35] You can't really have Lazarus around, right? Because everyone saw he was dead. He was in the tomb. [00:20:42] There was a stone in front of it. He was wrapped in grave clothes. He was dead four days. [00:20:48] And yet he's sitting here eating at a table. [00:20:56] It's not going to fly over. Kind of proves that Christ is there and alive. [00:21:05] So the triumphant entry. [00:21:08] On the next day, much of the people that were come to feast when they had heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. Took branches of palm trees and went forth to meet him. And he cried, Hosanna. [00:21:20] Blessed is the king of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, when he found a young ass, sat thereon as it is written, fear not, daughter of Zion. Behold, the king cometh sitting on an ass's colt. [00:21:40] I mean, it's unbelievable. [00:21:44] These things understood. Not his disciples at first. But when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these were the writing of him. That they had done these things unto him. The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the grave. And raised him from the death. [00:22:08] Bear record for this cause. The people also met him for what they heard that he had done for this miracle. [00:22:18] The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, perceive ye how ye prevail. Nothing. Behold, the world is gone after him. [00:22:31] See, now they're panicking because, well, they're supposed to be the high priests and everything. [00:22:38] And yet now they're not really paying attention to them anymore. So they're losing their place. And you can see this. Here's this building, this drama that's building outward. Now, what good are they and what do we need them for if we have Christ here? So you could see how this is playing out. [00:23:04] And there were certain Greeks among them. That came up to worship at the feast. [00:23:09] The same came before to Philip, which was in Bethesda of Galilee. And desired him, saying, sir, we would see Jesus. [00:23:20] Philip, come and tell us, Andrew. And again, Andrew and Philip, tell Jesus. [00:23:27] And Jesus answered them, saying, the hour has come that the son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone. But if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. He that loveth his life shall lose it. And he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me. And where I am, there shall also be also my servant be. If any man serve me, him will my father honor. [00:24:13] Now, if my soul is troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. But for this cause I came unto this hour. [00:24:25] Father, glorify thy name again. Jesus isn't worried about him being glorified. No, he is passing that right along to God the father, Abba, Father. [00:24:40] And he could. He makes a perfect example by saying. [00:24:47] Could I go ahead. Now that my soul is troubled? What if I should say, father, save me from this hour? He could have done that. [00:24:55] But he already knows what his purpose is. He knew it from the very second that he was here. [00:25:03] He knew this is my purpose. I am here to save all of you. [00:25:11] But you have a choice. I have a choice. [00:25:17] Then he said, signifying what death, he should die. And the people answered him. We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth forever. And how sayest you? The son of man must be lifted up. [00:25:34] Who is this son of man? And Jesus answered to them, yet a little while is the light with you. [00:25:42] Walk while ye have the light. Least darkness come upon you. For he that walketh in darkness knoweth not where he goeth. [00:25:52] While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of the light. [00:26:01] See, the light is the truth. [00:26:05] The light is truth. [00:26:08] The light is everything. [00:26:14] I mean, he's telling you right to your face. Listen, walk with me for a while. You believe on me. Walk with me for a while. [00:26:26] It's great for everything else, but walk with me for a while. I'll be here for a little while. [00:26:35] These things spoke Jesus and departed, and did hide himself from them. But he thought he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him. And this is where I said, really, at this time. The Jews, they missed the boat. [00:26:51] They missed the boat. Christ was right there in front of them. [00:26:56] Right there in front of them. He just raised somebody from the dead along with all the other miracles that he's already performed. [00:27:06] That the saying of Elias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke. Lord, who hath believed our report and to whom hate the arm of the Lord hath been revealed. [00:27:23] And who hath the arm of the Lord been revealed. [00:27:27] Therefore, they could not believe, because know, Elias said again, he hath blinded their eyes and hardened their heart. That they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart and be converted. And I should heal. [00:27:48] Know we have this free will. [00:27:52] These people are just God. They're stiff necked, like God said. Even when he brought them out of Egypt, they don't want to believe. They're worried more about their place in the community, politically and everything else, and their nation, rather than worrying about and these are worldly things, rather than worrying about their future in eternal life. [00:28:20] Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also, many believed on him. But because of the Pharisees, they did not confess him. Least they should be put out of the synagogue. And they're a perfect example. [00:28:34] I can't admit that Christ is God's son. They'll kick me out of the know. For they love the praise of men more than the praise of God. [00:28:46] Again, they're doing it for their own gain, their own political agendas. Rather than saying, wow, God is right here in front of us. Christ is right here. [00:28:59] I've got news for you. You missed the boat. Now you have to wait till the second coming. [00:29:04] You had that chance. You made a choice. It's called free will. You missed the boat. [00:29:11] And that's the truth of it all. Then Jesus cried and said, he believeth on me. Believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. [00:29:23] Listen to it again. He that believeth on me believeth not on me, but on him that sent me. [00:29:35] And he that seeth me. And seeth him that sent me, I am come a light into the world. That whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. [00:29:51] And if any man hear my words and believe not, I judge him not. For I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. [00:30:04] Chapter twelve. And you hear that right there. Chapter twelve. [00:30:10] You go all the way from 44, and we're going to go all the way down to 50. [00:30:15] And that was 47. And if any man hear my words and believe not, I judge him not. [00:30:24] For I came not to this not to judge the world, but to save the world. [00:30:31] He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words hath one that judges him. [00:30:39] The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. And again, you can see now here it is, that parallel line where I said, God is the word. The word is in God. There it is. Okay, there's that parallel right here. [00:30:58] The word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. The word. The word is God, the word I have spoken. Because all he's doing is testifying to the father about the father, praising the Father, giving the glory to the Father. So he's telling him right away, when you get judged, here it comes. [00:31:23] The same shall judge him in the last day. [00:31:27] For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak. [00:31:39] And I know that his commandment is life everlasting, whosoever I speak. Therefore, even as the father said unto me, so I speak. [00:31:53] God is giving me the word. I am his son. He is giving me the word. I am here to save you people. What comes out of my mouth is exactly what God is telling me to say. He is guiding me down this I know I am going to be crucified. I know I am going to die. I know that these things are going to happen. And he's sacrificing me for all of you. [00:32:16] In essence. And we know Christ is God. And God is Christ. God has given him all those powers. [00:32:25] We know this Christ is in the flesh right now. But we know this in a sense, God is sacrificing God for us. [00:32:39] And that's exactly what's happening here now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come and that he should depart out of this world unto the Father having loved his own, which were in the world, he loved them unto the end, and the supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him. [00:33:10] And what do we have? [00:33:12] What has basically went on? Why do we go in and we see before what is the devil's goals? [00:33:19] To steal, kill and destroy. [00:33:22] That's it. That's the only goal. 24 7365. That's all he does throughout this world, walking to and fro, back and forth. [00:33:33] And he tells you that, matter of fact, if you go back to job, he tells you that where have you been? [00:33:44] Walking back and forth to and fro. [00:33:52] That's his goal. [00:33:54] Steal, kill and destroy. [00:33:57] And what is he doing? He is now having Judas Iscariot. He's whispered into him to betray Jesus. [00:34:06] He is stealing right now. [00:34:11] And then they're going to crucify him. They're going to kill him, and they think then that'll destroy him. Of course, it's a huge mistake, but nonetheless, this is exactly what is happening. Jesus knowing that the father had given all things into his hands, Jesus knowing that the father had given all things into his hands and that he was come from God and went to God, he riseth from supper and laid aside his garments and took a towel and girdled himself. [00:34:49] After that, he pouredh water into a basin and began to wash his disciples'feet and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. Then come he to Simon and Peter. And Peter said unto him, lord, dost thou wash my feet? And Jesus answered and said unto him, what I do thou knowest not now, but thou shalt know hereafter. Peter said to him, thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him, if I wash thee not, thou has no part with me. [00:35:29] Simon Peter said unto him, lord, not my feet only, but also my hands in my head. And Jesus said to him, he that is washed needeth not to save. [00:35:41] He that is washed need not to save. To wash. His feet is clean everywhere, and ye are clean, but not all. [00:35:54] For he knew who should betray him. Therefore he said, ye are not all clean. [00:36:02] So after he had washed their feet and he had taken his garment and was sat down again and he said to him, know ye what I have done to you? [00:36:11] Ye call me master and lord, and ye say, well, for so am I. [00:36:19] If I then your lord and master have washed your feet. Ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example. That you should do this as I have done to you. Verily, verily, I say unto you, the servant is not greater than his lord. Neither is he that is sent greater than he that sent him. [00:36:44] If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. I speak not of you all. I know whom I have chosen, but that the scriptures may be fulfilled. He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. Now I will tell you before it come, that when it come to pass, ye may believe that I am he, that I am he. [00:37:22] Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me. And he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. [00:37:38] When jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit and testified and said, verily, verily, I say unto you that one of you shall betray me. [00:37:52] Then the disciples looked one another, doubting of whom he spoke. Now there was a leaning on jesus'bosom by one of his disciples whom jesus loved. Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him so that he should speak. [00:38:11] So he should ask who it should be of whom he spoke. [00:38:17] He then, lying on Jesus breath, said unto him, lord, who is it? Jesus answered, he, it is to whom I shall give a sop when I have dipped it. [00:38:33] And we had dipped the Sop, and he gave it to Judas Iscariot, son of Simon. And after the Sop, Satan entered into him. And then Jesus said unto him, that thou doest do quickly. [00:38:49] Now again, you see this power here again. [00:38:52] And I pointed this out before in job. [00:39:02] And when Satan had presented himself, understand, angels presented themselves first in job. And also along with them came Satan. So he had to present himself. [00:39:15] And God ended up giving him orders. People didn't understand this. He had commands. [00:39:22] First. He. You know, you put this hedge around job and everything like that. And if you take that hedge away, he's going to curse you to your face. [00:39:34] And God said at that time, so be it. [00:39:38] But you will not touch job. [00:39:45] You will not. Okay? And again later, when he came in after it and he. Well, you know, you got a hedge around him. You won't let me do anything to him. [00:39:54] He said, fine. [00:39:56] You will not kill job. You will spare his life. [00:40:02] And listen to what Jesus is saying here. [00:40:06] And here we are, page 1200, John 14 and John 14. And we're on verse 27. After the Sop, Satan entered into him and then said Jesus unto him, that thou doest do quickly. [00:40:24] He knows what Satan's going to do, but you're going to do it. Go do it. [00:40:31] Do it quickly. [00:40:36] We all know what happens here, but he's given him an order. Again, Satan has no power. If you want to see the end, you don't even have to get into revelation. If you've read job and you're sitting here in John 14, verse 27 to understand that Satan is about a gazillion feet below Christ, God and holy spirit when it comes to power. In other words, he has no power compared to them. [00:41:10] Now, no man at the table knew for what intent he spoke this unto them. So basically he's kept it quiet. He said, yeah, one of you will betray me. But they haven't caught on. [00:41:23] Some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, buy those things that we have need of against the feast, or that he should give something to the poor. [00:41:38] He then, having received the Sop, went immediately out, and it was night, and you could see exactly how this is gone. [00:42:01] Christ announces his departure. Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, now is the son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. [00:42:14] If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself and shall straightway glorify him. [00:42:28] God is already glorified now because Jesus has been doing that, and he's showing God's power all the way through. And of course, with the scriptures being fulfilled again, here's more glorification, more proof. And now we're starting to see God is basically, even though this is his son, one and only begotten son. God has sacrificed God in order to save us. [00:42:55] If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself and shall straightway glorify him. Little children, yet a little while I am with you, and ye shall seek me. And as they said unto the jews, whether I go, ye cannot come. So now I say unto you a new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [00:43:33] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. [00:43:45] The whole time that Christ is here, all he has done was love, cared, healed. He's cried, he's wept, he's gone through all of this. [00:43:56] Simon Peter said unto him. Here we are. We are in John 14, verse 36. [00:44:03] Lord, where's goest thou? Jesus answered to him, whether I go, thou cannot follow me now but thou shalt follow me afterwards. And Peter said unto him, lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. And Jesus answered him and said, will thou lay down thy life for my sake? [00:44:28] Verily, verily, I say unto thee, the cock shall not crow till thou hast denied me thrice. Three times. [00:44:41] In my father's house, there are many mansions. If it were not so, and a lot of people mistake this, they always say, many rooms. [00:44:49] It's not many rooms. Listen to it again. Okay. And here we are. And it's chapter 14. Now, in my father's house are many mansions. [00:45:03] Mansions? Huge mansions. Not rooms. [00:45:11] Where this came out of is one of these things that drives me crazy. Oh, yeah, there's many rooms in my father's house. No, there's mansions. [00:45:22] If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. [00:45:28] And if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself. [00:45:36] That where I am, there ye may be also. And whether I go, know the way ye. [00:45:47] Whether I go, know. And the way ye know. [00:45:51] Thomas said unto him, lord, we know not whither thou goest. And how can it be we know the way? Jesus said unto him, I am the way. It's me. [00:46:04] The scriptures are great. The Bible's great. But understand something. And at that time, they didn't have the Bible because Constantine hadn't done what he's done yet. But this is the important thing that I want you to get out of the Bible, okay? [00:46:19] It's. Why, it's wonderful. We have the words in red and we know they're Christ's words. And we love those words. But here's the thing. I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me. [00:46:35] If ye had known me, ye should have known my father also. [00:46:40] And from henceforth, ye know ye know him and have seen him. [00:46:48] You get it? I am the way. [00:46:52] And from henceforth, ye do know him. And ye have seen him. Because here I am. I'm right here in front of you. So if you know me, you know God. Because here I am. [00:47:07] From henceforth, ye know him and have seen him. [00:47:12] As sure as you're looking right here. And we were there at that time talking to Christ. He is telling you, listen, I am the way. I am the truth. I am the word. [00:47:25] We go back and we saw that, and we talked about that, and he's telling him now. [00:47:33] Philip said to him, lord, show us the father. [00:47:38] And it survived us. And Jesus said to him, show you the Father. Okay, I'm thinking to myself, who do you think's been talking to you this whole time? [00:47:50] And Jesus said to him, I have been so long time with you, and yet has that not known me? Philip, he's telling him, here I am. I've been right here with you, and you still don't know me. [00:48:06] He that's seen me hath seen the Father. [00:48:12] And how sayest thou then showest the Father? [00:48:18] This is the most important parts right here. [00:48:25] It is the absolute most important parts. [00:48:30] He's telling him this. I've been with you guys this whole time, and you still can't figure it out that God is right here when I'm telling you these things and giving you the word. The words that I don't speak, but the Father has put them in me. [00:48:48] So God is in me, and the word is God. And I'm telling you these things. [00:48:55] I'm God right here in front of you. [00:49:01] And you still don't know me, Philip. [00:49:04] And you've seen everything that I've done, and you don't understand that. [00:49:11] Believe us not. [00:49:13] Believest thou not that I am the father and the father in me? Here it is. Here it is. Chapter 1410, verse ten. [00:49:24] Believest thou not that I am the Father and the Father in me? The words I speak unto you, I speak not of myself, but the father that dwelleth in me, he doth the works. Believe me that I am the father and the father in me. Or else believe me for the very works sake. [00:49:49] Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also. And greater works than these shall he do. Because I go unto my father. [00:50:03] And whosoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do. And the Father may be glorified in the Son. [00:50:14] If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it. [00:50:18] If ye love me, keep my commandments again. The whole way through. The whole way through. [00:50:30] All the way. From the time, from the very beginning, man has never been able to keep the commandments. You, I, nobody. [00:50:39] And that's why it went through. Is there not one good. No, not one. Not one. [00:50:46] And this is why we are in the predicaments that we're in now. [00:50:52] And this is going to sound harsh, and it's unlike worth. We stink. Do you understand harsher we suck. [00:51:01] We are terrible mortals, terrible human beings. God has said this right here, one of the most important places in the Bible, John 14, all the way from verse nine, all the way down here. We are now at verse 22. Judas said unto him, not escarat the Lord, how it is thou what manifest thyself unto us and not unto the world. And Jesus said, and answer him, if a man loved me, he will keep my words, and my father will love him, and he will come into him and make our abode with him. [00:51:44] Guess what? That's the Holy Spirit. [00:51:47] That's your advocate. That is your helper. [00:51:52] God is not leaving you here. He's not leaving me here empty handed to deal with all this garbage in the world that we're dealing with today. [00:52:03] We are not empty handed. [00:52:06] We have an advocate that will tell us at the right time what to say, what not to say, what to lead us, protect us, watch over us, keep us company. [00:52:21] He that loveth me not keepeth my sayings. And the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father which sent me. These things I have spoken unto you, being yet present with you in the flesh right here. [00:52:41] And here it is. Here it is right here. But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance. Whatsoever I have said unto you, peace I leave with you. [00:53:03] See, the Holy Spirit is all about love and peace and harmony and all the great things and God and everything. [00:53:14] My peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Give I unto you. Not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard. I said unto you, I go away and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice. Because I said, I go unto the father. For my father is greater than I. [00:53:41] And now I have told you before, it comes to pass, that when it comes to pass, ye might believe when this crucifixion happens and three days later, I rise. I have told you this ahead of time. [00:53:57] I've told you there's one, one God. [00:54:01] The word is with him. He is with the word. He is the word. [00:54:09] But the world may know now that I love the father. And as the father gave me a commandment, even so, I do arise, let us go hence. [00:54:25] And it's going to be right around this time that we are. [00:54:29] I got a couple more minutes, so. [00:54:39] And we're. We're gonna stop there, and we're gonna be at chapter 15. [00:54:43] And I told you I'm not in any hurry to finish the book of John. I love it. So here we are. We're at chapter 15, and I got it marked down. [00:55:01] And this next one is going to be the relationship of believers to Christ. [00:55:10] You have to delve into these things. You have to look at them and I mean not understand something. The Bible is a wonderful place, but I want you to try to immerse yourself at C. S. Lewis. You know, we're doing this great course with C. S. Lewis, and he kind of looks at things differently, I mean, way differently than what normal people thinking people do. Very deep, deep man. [00:55:38] And he's talking about how he went to the zoo and then he came to learn and believe in Christ. [00:55:48] And then he saw something later on, and it was a beam of life that peeked through a part of the door. [00:55:56] And the example was you could see this beautiful beam of light. Wow. That is fantastic. It's beautiful. It's great and everything. It's one of those things that will make you absolutely believe. But then when you look along the beam of light and you see these other things in the background, right along that beam of light that are even more glorified, that is how you have to look at the Bible. [00:56:25] It's knowing that, yeah, that's the word of God in there, but you have to understand, too. [00:56:33] Immerse yourself in it and follow it, believe it, and try to put yourself right in the middle of everything going on there. [00:56:44] Don't read it just to read. [00:56:47] Read it, to love it like it's the best thing you ever will read in your entire life. And you know it's true. That's the difference. [00:56:57] I mean, there's some great books out there, a lot of different books on a lot of different things, but here's the difference. [00:57:04] And he points this out by saying, okay, the myth, the myth of God. [00:57:08] But he doesn't mean myth as in mythical. The myth. [00:57:13] Wow. [00:57:16] It's the myth of God. And it's so powerful and everything, but it's also one of those things that is backed up. [00:57:25] This story happens to be true. [00:57:28] And that's how you have to remember when you're looking at all of this and you're delving into every part of the Bible, so as you're going through it and you will see the things that God does before your eyes. People ask for miracles every day. And every day you could sit here and ask people, how can you not see the things that he does every day? How can you not see the miracles that are performed every day. [00:58:04] I mean, we all go through our human crud that we have with us, and that is our flaw, and it's our choice. And we get caught up in these worldly things. [00:58:24] Rejoice. [00:58:27] Rejoice now and have joy about it. Because no matter with all the crap coming up, the elections, the wars, everything that is happening in the world today, here's the greatest thing to rejoice about. [00:58:41] I don't care. And you know why I don't care? Because at the end of the day, I still have Christ God. [00:58:49] So the rest of it that's going around doesn't matter. [00:58:55] It doesn't matter. [00:58:57] What matters is I know what's past this world. I'm looking beyond this world and saying, okay, I know this is a crapshoot. I know this is just a big. [00:59:13] It's not going to have this great ending because it's a worldly thing. Not until he comes back. [00:59:23] But I'm going to rejoice in that time, and I'll wait patiently, and I'm going to have trust, and I'm going to have faith. [00:59:32] That's the beauty of it all. Be good to one another. Love one another. [00:59:37] Don't be afraid to stand up, though, and do the right thing, either. [00:59:44] You have to do that, too. We have to obey his commands. We have to purge this world of evil. And I'll tell you what, it's a hard thing to do. But you know what? It starts with yourself. [00:59:58] That's the biggest purge there is because you're fighting a spiritual warfare. Start there. But in order to do it, you have to train yourself. [01:00:08] And you wouldn't run an olympic race or anything else if you hadn't prepared, right? [01:00:15] Start doing your training. [01:00:18] Start doing it. Start reading the Bible. [01:00:22] Start your training there. [01:00:25] And then expand and keep expanding. Don't read it once and say, okay, you know what? Hey, that's it. I'm done. No, this is something that should be calling you back more and more and more. [01:00:38] Rejoice. [01:00:40] Enjoy. [01:00:42] Be good to one another. Love one another, and thank you for tuning in to life. Walk with Christ. God. I'll tell you what, I enjoyed the time here with you guys, so thank you very much, and we'll catch you next time. God bless.
