[00:00:02] Speaker A: Why are you doing that? I don't want that. Why did it not. Here we go. Hello everybody. How are you? Give us 30 seconds here and we'll. Good evening everyone and welcome to TRIM Radio Network where you can listen in, you can buy merchandise, we broadcast live all over the world and if you want to be a part of our TRIM Radio Network team, all you have to do is message us and we'll show you how easy it is to do. Anyway, welcome to the College Footballs top 25 +5 with myself and my son Kalyn that is hiding over here next to me. He's not a video hound, so it's. It's all good. But anyway, the opinions expressed by our host, co host, guest, myself and others is not necessarily that of the TRIM Radio Network. It's owners, managers or others. Any information shared by us is not to be considered to be used as advice. We inform, we don't advise and any music or anything else that we may play is covered under our BMI Music License 610-516-58. So take that Facebook. Anyway, we got a lot of stuff going on. Man, did we have some games this last week and I think my record at that time was 18 and 5. I kind of stunk it up, but I'm still in the positive. Just, you know, things weren't going great and I kind of keep an eye on that. We also always like to do a shout out and that is to five star double diamond sports with John Hickey. And John does a great job of the Pickhams thing and we, you know what, it's just for fun and we have a great time doing it, but he really takes a lot of time in getting it done, getting it prepared and everything. Our games this last week were. And I'm just going to put this on the stop cam and we're. You're going to hear us talk but not see us, but you know, we're here. So our games this last week, it was, it was kind of ugly, I, you know, to say the least. Arizona got absolutely spanked by Kansas State, 31 to 7. Georgia, well, they struggled last week versus Kentucky or I'm sorry, on the week I'm with. I'm one behind. I'm one behind. I'm one behind. [00:03:11] Speaker B: Illinois dropped Nebraska in the final ot. [00:03:14] Speaker A: There we go. Yes, there you go. There we go. Let's get this. Got to make sure we're up to date here. South Alabama against Appalachian State. Appalachian State got crushed and USA 48, Appalachian State 14. I did not See that coming. Appy's got some problems, so I won't be pulling for them anymore. They've got some serious problems. They went from giant killer down to, well, ant colony. Anyway, Illinois at Nebraska. Illinois pulls off in overtime. The upset, 3124 and Dylan Raola. I mean, listen. 297 yards passing is impressive. And you know, the kid can throw. There's no question about it. He's a gamer. [00:04:07] Speaker B: Yeah, but you gotta look at Altmeier. I mean, he went 21 of 27, 215 yards and four tds. Zero mistakes. [00:04:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I know. Illinois is a scary team. Yeah, Illinois is a scary team. And now that they've got Nebraska under their belt, I think that the rest of the Big Ten should better take notice because they're ranked at 24, so. And the rankings have changed. But we'll. We'll get to that. But keep an eye on Illinois, Stanford and Syracuse. And syracuse. Listen, Kyle McCord is doing his job. 339 yards passing. You know, the rushing. Chris Davis Jr. 79 yards. Come on now. You know, and Pena, Pena was doing his job. He had 101 yards. But they're. They weren't giving him time. They weren't giving him anything. You give him time, he'll pick you apart. [00:05:01] Speaker B: Yep. [00:05:01] Speaker A: You know, but that's the thing. [00:05:03] Speaker B: You know, Syracuse went away from the run game. I mean, they only had eight carries. That's. That's a problem. [00:05:09] Speaker A: You know, that is a problem, especially. [00:05:12] Speaker B: When you have the quarterback throwing for 42, you know, attempts. And I mean, you throw for 42 attempts, you're gonna have an interception in there. Yeah. To get two of them. It happens. [00:05:23] Speaker A: It's gonna be somewhere in there. Yeah, there's no. No question. And I think that was part of the problem. So, Syracuse, can you write the ship this week? We'll find out. San Jose State at Washington State. And Washington State, you know, well, 54, 52. This was a shootout, man. Two overtimes, by the way. [00:05:46] Speaker B: Yep. [00:05:47] Speaker A: So. And when you look at that one, John Mater, 390 yards, ran 111. And then the receiving. Nick. Nick Nash, 152. So impressive. Oh, good game. [00:06:07] Speaker B: Good game. [00:06:07] Speaker A: It was. It was. So then we get to the other ones at ul, Monroe at Texas. [00:06:14] Speaker B: Obliteration. [00:06:15] Speaker A: Of course. Yeah, I. Well, you knew, Arch Manning has got the skill set. He's got everything. And Kayla and I said it before, as far as the 12 punch on quarterbacks, it is Texas. It doesn't matter who's in there. Whether it's Quinn Everett Ewers or whether it's Arch Manning. But arch put up 250, 258 yards passing. And of course, you know, Jaden Blue, 124 yards rushing. Isaiah Bond, 75 yards receiving. And then we get on over to Ohio State Marshal. This went exactly how I figured it would go. Well, Howard, 275 yards passing. Christian. Christian Judkins, 173 yards, man. Child pulls it off. And then amica Abuka, just 117 yards in receiving. [00:07:09] Speaker B: So many weapons and score so fast. [00:07:11] Speaker A: It's. It's fast and it's. I, I mean, I just don't. [00:07:16] Speaker B: They. They. You know, the worst part about it is they played a very sloppy game. [00:07:21] Speaker A: But. [00:07:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I mean, but, but, you know, it goes. [00:07:24] Speaker A: It was from a week off, remember? So a week off. [00:07:27] Speaker B: Of course, they're shaking jitters off. [00:07:29] Speaker A: Right? And then you saw how fast they. [00:07:32] Speaker B: Put on 21 points. [00:07:33] Speaker A: Oh, it was quick. [00:07:34] Speaker B: It was. It was within two minutes. [00:07:35] Speaker A: Yeah, it's lightning fast. They'll score on you fast. It. You're absolutely right. And I mean, if it's not Christian Johnkins, then you've got Tray man Henderson to worry about. If it's not him, they go deeper and they can do this in the passing too. So, you know, you can have. Doesn't matter who you have in there anywhere. They're going to do. Yeah. And. And they're. It's like they're competing amongst themselves. Which is great. Yeah, which is great. [00:08:04] Speaker B: All right. You got Jordan Southern that got absolutely demolished by Ole Miss. [00:08:08] Speaker A: We expected that. Yep, yep. And dart 382 yards passing. You know what I'm saying? And you know Parish, 89 yards rushing. But here's the thing. I want to see the rushing game. That's great. You got a passing game. But show me 100 yards in rushing along with the 2 and 300 yards passing, and we'll look at you hard. You know what I'm saying? Tennessee at Oklahoma. This game went exactly as Kalen and I predicted. This Nico, I'm a Lava is incredible. And he didn't have these huge, huge numbers. Understand. He had, you know, 194 yards passing. You know, Dylan Sampson had 92 yards rushing. Brumakoi 92 yards receiving. But they got the job done. 25 to 15 against a very good Oklahoma team. But it could have been worse. It actually, it could have been a lot worse for Oklahoma. Welcome to the sec. This is what you get. So, you know, this Is the cutthroat league. Man, if there's a league out there that's cutthroat. It is the sec. Yep. I mean, and we're going to see that this week, too, as we talk more Vanderbilt at Missouri. And I got to tell you, it took two overtimes. Missouri finally came out 30 to 27, I'm going to tell you that. Brady Cook, 226 yards passing. Nate Noel, 199 yards rushing. And Luther Burton, the third, 76 yards receiving. But they pulled it out. So, you know, I don't know what to think of Missouri. I don't think that they're there. [00:09:51] Speaker B: No. [00:09:51] Speaker A: I think when you start to face a team you. That was Vanderbilt, when you start to face the Georgias, the Alabamas, the Texas, you know, even Oklahoma or Tennessee's, you're gonna figure out teams won't go away. Yeah, they're going to continue. Exactly. And next up was Miami at South Florida. And that one turned into a massacre. 50 to 15. Cam Ward, 404 yards. He's really looking like a good Heisman candidate, too, so. And, but then again, John, Miami, actually, Jordan Lyle again, you have a rushing of 104 yards, you know what I'm saying? And you know, Atkins, 125 yards receiving, so not a surprise there. Penn state at Kent, 56 to nothing. Drew Aller, 309 yards, you know, Nick Nicholas Singleton, 81 yards rushing. But you have to. It's going to be. They're a hard team to predict. [00:10:58] Speaker B: It is. [00:10:59] Speaker A: You don't know what to expect from them. Well, the defense is stout, so we know they have a very good defense, but is Drew Aller the, you know, quarterback? We think he is, or. No. What's your thoughts? [00:11:19] Speaker B: I mean, I, I, once he gets going, he's going. I mean, you know, there's no problem to that, so. [00:11:24] Speaker A: But it is getting him going. [00:11:26] Speaker B: Yeah, it's getting him going. [00:11:27] Speaker A: Getting him going is a problem. Okay, here, this next one, the biggest one that Kaylin and I both called wrong and really is shocking, was Michigan and usc. USC laid an egg in the big house and it was 27, 24 was the final score. Miller Moss had 283 yards. The defense gave up that big play at the end, and that's what cost you the game. [00:11:58] Speaker B: There were some questionable calls. Yeah, there's some questionable hits. [00:12:03] Speaker A: We're seeing a lot of that in college football. Calls that I think should be called. But then they, they're like, okay, let him play. And then there's Some stupid calls that are like, nope, 10 yards. [00:12:15] Speaker B: Are wondering if gambling has really started to make an impact into college sports. [00:12:19] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, it does. It does, it does. It does. [00:12:22] Speaker B: But I will say this, though. I did witness, you know, the. I don't know if it was a receiver. Whoever it was, I believe it was a receiver was going down field to go for a catch. [00:12:34] Speaker A: And that headshot, I mean, it was. [00:12:36] Speaker B: A head and back shot. [00:12:37] Speaker A: I know. [00:12:37] Speaker B: Dude came up behind him, the defender's right there, and the safety just lays him out. [00:12:41] Speaker A: Yeah, that was straight to the hospital. What kind of. That could have been a targeting all the way. It wasn't. [00:12:47] Speaker B: I mean, it is a target. [00:12:48] Speaker A: Yeah. And. Yeah. So then we get to the next one. The one that surprised me also. Another one of my losses was Utah and Oklahoma State. And that game was close, 22 to 19. I was wrong. I was wrong, too. We called that wrong. We really thought Oklahoma State was looking like a true, true, you know, true blue. Here we go. The Cowboys are going down. [00:13:13] Speaker B: Utah picked right back up where it left off. [00:13:15] Speaker A: It sure did, didn't it? And playing absolutely phenomenal right now. So Kansas State, BYU, BYU took them out. So 38 to nine. And that was a good way. Absolutely did. I don't think Kansas State knew it was coming, and I didn't either. [00:13:37] Speaker B: It was legit. [00:13:38] Speaker A: Yeah. BYU is a good team, so we're gonna keep our eye on them. UCLA and LSU. LSU won that game. 34, 17. I expect LSU to win that game. We talked about that. UCLA is not the team of like last year, year before. So not a surprise there, too. Give me a year or two. Exactly. Notre Dame, Miami of Ohio, 28, 3. If Notre Dame is going to stay in this playoff picture, you're going to get it together. They have got to pull it together. And Marcus Freeman is a good coach, but Notre Dame itself, the team itself is letting the coach down, not where the coach is letting them down. I think it's vice versa on this one, you know. [00:14:23] Speaker B: You know, you got a question too, though. Notre Dame being Notre Dame, is. Is Marcus Freeman's hand being held? You know. [00:14:29] Speaker A: Yeah. Is he being held back from doing what he wants? [00:14:32] Speaker B: Yes. [00:14:33] Speaker A: And. But either way, I expect the kids to go on out. Earn that scholarship, baby. Earn that nil and everything. So, you know, we'll just. We'll let that one slide on that one. Georgia tech and Louisville, 31, 19. Louisville just took over, you know, Haynes, King. 312 yards again. Then he ran. Yeah, then he ran another 58 and Corey Brooks, of course, picked up 125 yards in receiving. Then we get down to Arkansas State and Iowa State. Iowa State is looking every bit the part right now. 52. 7. Against Arizona State or Arkansas State. I'm sorry. And they just. Wow. Okay. Just kind of beat them up. [00:15:17] Speaker B: I heard Arkansas State was a good team. [00:15:19] Speaker A: Yeah. And NC State and Clemson. Clemson blew them out of the water 59 to 35 and very impressive. Clemson is at one blemish, but that's it. So now at week four, we're moving on to week five. Are they a contender? This is what we're going to find out. How are they going to hold up against Louisville? How are they going to hold up against Syracuse or Miami? Absolutely. So we're gonna keep our eye on them because they might just be able to sneak in there. [00:15:51] Speaker B: Yep. [00:15:52] Speaker A: They. They can. So you're not. You're not doomed yet. Clemson. You're still. You're still around Buffalo and Northern Illinois. And let me tell you, this was a shocker for both Kalyn and I. Not really. Yeah. We picked Northern Illinois, but I wasn't expecting, you know, either. Yeah. Well, it was overtime, 23 to 20. And I. We said Buffalo was a champion. Wasn't it the year before. A year before that. So. But Northern Illinois, I mean, they're three. [00:16:22] Speaker B: And one, so they, you know. [00:16:24] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:16:25] Speaker B: But gave Northern Illinois the first loss. Of course, Northern Illinois is also coming off of bye week. So there's. That is it played a huge factor, I believe. So if you. [00:16:35] Speaker A: If you go and you're beating up Notre Dame. Okay. And you win that game, you should be hyped and you should be looking at your season like, hey, this is our time. I know. And then if you have a letdown against Buffalo, but you beat Notre Dame. [00:16:49] Speaker B: Then you go into a bye week and you're coming against Buffalo, who's playing its fourth game in a row. You know what I mean? And look who they've played. I mean, Buffalo hasn't just fallen off. I mean, they were playing the big boys. [00:17:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:17:05] Speaker B: From what I remember. I remember seeing. Yeah. Missouri is their one loss. [00:17:11] Speaker A: That was it. That was their one loss. All right, so we got the Bowling Green, Texas A M. Texas A M. And I'm gonna tell you this. What did we say about Bowling Green? Bowling Green has played these huge schools like Penn State and everyone else. And a little school, I think it's in Ohio, I believe. Yeah. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Smaller school. [00:17:31] Speaker A: Yeah. Small little school. And here they go against Texas A M. Okay. And. And again, they lost the game, but I'm going to tell you when you're talking, yeah, six points, 26, 20. So, wow, bowling Green, you guys are, in a lot of ways, are heroes. I. That's all I can say there. Florida and Mississippi State. Florida takes out Mississippi State 45, 28. Then we get down to Charlotte and Indiana. Indiana cruised 52 to 14. I don't know what to think of them yet. We're going to find out more as we go along. Villanova and Maryland. Maryland 38, Villanova 20. And again, you get these good. Billy Edwards Jr. 378 yards or 328 yards passing, and then you know it. Just to me, again, if you're not having 100 yards on the ground and a lot of these schools are not, you're not going to win that game. Right. There's no way. You have to have some kind of rushing. And that's how Michigan got into the spot. They got in with usc. Pound the ball. So they look like Michigan of old. And Ohio State has to be prepared for them because they're big, they're. They're brutal. And I can't judge them by the Texas game because if played the same game today with the same result happen, maybe, maybe not. I don't know. Houston, Cincinnati, Cincinnati, 34 to nothing over them. Kansas and West Virginia. Well, West Virginia pulled it out, 32 to 28. Oh, James Madison. Yeah, James Madison. [00:19:08] Speaker B: They looking like they're gonna be undefeated this year. [00:19:11] Speaker A: James Madison put a beating on North Carolina 70 to 50. But I'm gonna tell you, we had Jacob. Was it Jacoby. Criswell. 475 yards in passing, and then I can't even pronounce his name. Omar on Hampton. 139 yards rushing. James. James Madison's looking good, man. Oh, yeah, looking good. [00:19:39] Speaker B: But Marshall at the end of the year. [00:19:40] Speaker A: So now we move on down to Tulane in Louisiana. Tulane takes that game 41 to 33. Good job to them. Rice Army. Army knocks them out 37 to 14 against Rice, Ohio and Kentucky. Kentucky 41 to 6 over Ohio. You can never count the Bobcats out, but it's not. Not their year this year. Ball State in central Michigan. 37, 34. And we'll give that one to Central Michigan and Virginia and Coastal Carolina. I'm really surprised by this one. Really. In a lot of ways, I thought Coastal Carolina was pretty good, but 43, 24, they take a nose dive. Yeah. So we're going to skip a couple right here. Let's get down To Arkansas and Auburn. 24 14. Auburn's got some issues. Is the coach in the hot seat? [00:20:35] Speaker B: Oh, yes. [00:20:36] Speaker A: I, I, you know, I shouldn't be. [00:20:40] Speaker B: Losing to Arkansas, but Arkansas is looking pretty good this year. [00:20:43] Speaker A: Arkansas does look pretty good this year. So when you put points on the board, they did. And, and I'll tell you that. And, but again, right here, you know, Peyton Thone, 213 yards passing, passing. So we'll see how they come out. Auburn, I think your coach is not going to be there at this time next year. I just don't believe it. Rutgers at Virginia Tech. Rutgers pulls it out. 26, 2, 23. And you know, good job to them. And then we'll get down here. Youngstown State and Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh just destroyed them. Oh, yeah. 73 to 17. And again you're seeing all these great passing, you know what I'm saying? But Arizona State, Texas Tech, here we go, right here. 32, 22. And my favorite that I called and I said it would happen. Navy would pull it out against Memphis and did they ever. 56 to 44 people, look. Seth Hennegan, 370 yards. 371 yards passing. Horvath, 211 yards rushing. Kobe Drake, 102 yards. Hey, this is a turn team. It's a triple option. But now we're a passing team too, and we can hurt you. And you know, I'm impressed with Navy right now. Let's see how they hold up. But I'm impressed with them. Let's go on down here to Duke in middle Tennessee. Duke 45 to 17. TCU and SMU. SMU took TCU out 66 to 42. Josh Hoover, 396 yards of passing. And then again, Brashard Smith, 127 yards rushing. Jack Beck, 166 yards receiving. So let's move on down. Northwestern in Washington. Washington upsets Northwestern. Welcome to the Big Ten, 24 to 5. California. What in the world, what in the world happened to you? 14 to 9, loss to Florida State. [00:22:59] Speaker B: Gave them their first win. [00:23:01] Speaker A: You get a, you go in there and you get a black eye and I mean, Fernando Mendoza, 303 yards passing. Listen, you, you've got, you've got to play better than this. I mean, California, come on. You were come. They came. I believe they came off of a win the, the week before. Yeah, and then you go here and you stub your toe. Really? Come on. That was disappointing. We, we're going to skip on down. We're going to go on down to Akron In South Carolina. South Carolina dismantled Akron 50 to 7. And if you think South Carolina is a joke, you are wrong. I'm going to tell you, you are wrong. They can hold their own in the SEC right now. They might not be that 11 win team, but they're going to get eight wins somewhere along the line. [00:23:48] Speaker B: So I think they're going to surprise. [00:23:50] Speaker A: Or seven. Seven or eight wins. We'll see. Seven. [00:23:53] Speaker B: I say nine. [00:23:54] Speaker A: You think? No, I don't think so. They got Alabama, they got Georgia, they got. [00:23:58] Speaker B: I think they got the team. [00:24:00] Speaker A: We'll see. We'll. We'll see. But I. I like them at least going to a bowl game. So relax, game fans. Put him out. So relax game fans, because it is going to happen for you. We had to put the dog out real quick. I'm sorry, but the pit bull loves to bark when he hears the doorbell. So like all dogs, I went Minnesota, Iowa 31, 14 over Minnesota. They're still looking very strong. We're gonna see how this goes with them because they're hard to read, too. You know, I really thought that they would take Iowa State's cyclones up. Didn't happen. [00:24:38] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:24:39] Speaker A: So. But they righted the ship. Michigan State at Boston College let down. That was embarrassing. And I mean, when you're at 23, 19 and. And you lose to Boston College, I was a little surprised by that. Baylor at Colorado. Colorado 38, Baylor 31. Overtime. And of course, Fresno State, New Mexico 38 to 21. Purdue in Oregon State. Oregon State 38, Purdue 21. [00:25:07] Speaker B: Knocking Purdue down. [00:25:08] Speaker A: Yeah. And you know, we'll throw in just a little sunshine here. We had Northern Iowa at Hawaii. Hawaii 36, you and I 7. So, you know, there's a. There's a lot going on there. And we are going to take a look at week five before we get to our top 25 here. First game on the slate, which is army and simple. Yeah, army and Temple. That's right. And they come up. What. What day is that? Friday, 7:30. Yep, Thursday, 7:30. Army and temple. So that'll be a pretty good game. That's at Lincoln Field. Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. So that ought to be a good game on Friday. Friday night. Here we go. Two good games. Here we go. Virginia Tech at Miami. We're taking. Who do you like? [00:26:02] Speaker B: I'm taking Miami. [00:26:03] Speaker A: Who did you like in army and Tempo? [00:26:06] Speaker B: I'm gonna take Army. [00:26:07] Speaker A: Yeah, I will, too. All right, so you like Miami. All right, so Kayla and I both like army for the Temple game and we like Miami for the Virginia Tech game. Okay. Washington at Rutgers. I think this is a no brainer. This is. We're taking Ruggers. Yeah, we're taking Ruggers. No doubt about it. [00:26:26] Speaker B: Now, Saturday leading up in the morning. [00:26:30] Speaker A: Yes. Here we go. At 12 o'clock in the afternoon, we have Kentucky at Ole Miss. [00:26:45] Speaker B: Shows up waiting to happen for Ole Miss. And being that Kentucky has two losses right now, this is the perfect setup for a trap game, you know, because Kentucky's knocked out. They're out. [00:27:00] Speaker A: Yeah, why not? [00:27:01] Speaker B: They can do is spoils, ruin. [00:27:08] Speaker A: All right, what do you think? Who do you want? Kentucky. They're at Ole Miss. I'm gonna take Ole Miss. [00:27:16] Speaker B: It's probably gonna be Ole Miss, but I want Kentucky. I'd like Minnesota at Michigan. [00:27:24] Speaker A: I take Michigan. I. If Michigan is true blue, they're going to show it this week and you know, they're going to say, listen, we had that one loss and Sharon Mower is going to look even better. So. And it's at Michigan. It's in the big house. That's a. That's a tough place to play. It is, you know. So who do you want? We know who we want, but who do you like? I think it's Michigan, but I want to Michigan. All right, Michigan for both of us. [00:28:00] Speaker B: I don't think Minnesota can do it. [00:28:02] Speaker A: Okay. Oklahoma State at number 23, Kansas State. [00:28:06] Speaker B: Okie State. [00:28:08] Speaker A: Yep, I'll take Okie State. I think they upset him there. Absolutely. All right. BYU at Baylor. I like byu. [00:28:18] Speaker B: I like BYU as well. Yeah, Baylor's that team and they might upset them. [00:28:24] Speaker A: I'll take byu. Maryland at Indiana. Here you go. This is a game, this is going to be a tough game at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, you know, and this game is at 12 o'clock also. So I, in all honesty, like Maryland, but I think Indiana could pull this off. But I'm going to go with Maryland. Going to go with my gut. Nebraska. Purdue. I like Nebraska. Buffalo at Yukon. I like Buffalo. Western Kentucky at Boston College. Yep, Boston College. Northern Illinois at North Carolina State. Now this is tough. Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh, North Carolina. And they can be tough there when they're at home and they've got this Northern Illinois team that just came off of a bruising from Buffalo. So I'm going Northern Illinois. I like Northern Illinois. Yeah. Holy Cross at Syracuse. Syracuse. Navy at uab. Yeah, I like Navy too. All right, South Florida at Tulane. Okay. And this is going to be a no brainer for everybody, but yeah, James Madison, we're taking James Madison Ball State at James Madison. James Houston. You like Sam Houston? Yep. Over Texas State. All right, I'll go with that one. Wisconsin at usc. I'm taking USC in Pasadena. Yeah, I'm taking usc. [00:29:56] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm gonna have to go with USC as well. I feel as if Wisconsin might pull. [00:30:01] Speaker A: It off here, though. Yeah, they won't. [00:30:04] Speaker B: We'll see. [00:30:05] Speaker A: I don't think so, but we'll see. [00:30:07] Speaker B: Notre Dame. [00:30:09] Speaker A: Okay. This game is. Is a real tricky game. This is what we were talking about to make it or break it. Here we are at this point, Notre Dame. This is. You have let down your coach. Not your coach letting you down, but you've let down your coach. Now you've got Louisville at home. So number 15, Louisville at number 16, Notre Dame. Who do you like? I like Louisville as well. [00:30:34] Speaker B: Oklahoma at Auburn. I feel as if the Sooners might correct the ship here. [00:30:41] Speaker A: Yeah, I do. [00:30:41] Speaker B: I don't know what kind of temperament the Auburn Tiger is pulling out right now. [00:30:46] Speaker A: Next one, Arkansas. [00:30:47] Speaker B: Texas A. M. I like Arkansas. I do, too. [00:30:53] Speaker A: I like Arkansas. They're just kind of. It ain't pretty, you know, by any means, but. But they're there. So I kind of like Arkansas to take Texas A. M out. Okay. UMass at Miami of Ohio. [00:31:11] Speaker B: I'll take Miami, Ohio. [00:31:12] Speaker A: I'll take Miami of Ohio as well. Louisiana at Wake Forest. Okay. I anticipate a upset here, and I'll go with Louisiana. I like the. The. I believe that's the Raging Cajuns, and they are giant killers here and there. I expect them to possibly knock off Wake Forest. Wouldn't be a surprise. TCU in Kansas. [00:31:40] Speaker B: Tcu. They put up points. [00:31:44] Speaker A: They put up. Yeah, they do put up points. All right, I'll take tcu. I could see that. All right. Colorado at ucf. [00:31:50] Speaker B: Ucf, baby. [00:31:51] Speaker A: Yeah. I think UCF handles them. Liberty at App. [00:31:55] Speaker B: State. [00:31:55] Speaker A: Liberty. I like Liberty in that one. Fresno at unlv. I like Fresno State. It's a tough game. UNLV just came off a nice one. You know what I'm saying? So you're gonna take unlv. Okay. All right. San Diego State at Central Michigan. Yeah, I like that, too. All right. Georgia Southern at Georgia State. Now, there's. Here we go. Interstate conference, you know, kind of rivalry thing there. [00:32:24] Speaker B: Give me Georgia State. [00:32:25] Speaker A: Really? Yeah. All right. All right, I'll take Georgia State. I buy that. Western Michigan at Marshall. I'll take Marshall. Yeah. Marshall just came off of a beating. They want to shake that off, and they want to write the ship Akron at Ohio. I am going to pick an upset here. I'm going to take Akron. That's right. Eastern Michigan at Kent State. Eastern Michigan, North Carolina at Duke. Dude, I do like Duke. I, you know, I, I like Duke. In this one, Duke is shown a little bit of like, you know, they're there, they're there. So Utah at East Carolina. I like that. Yep, me too. All right, here we go. Mississippi State at Texas. I like Texas. Old Dominion at Bowling Green. I'm taking Bowling Green, baby, All the way. Louisiana Tech at Florida International. That, that's, you know, that one's at 6 o'clock. I like Florida International on that one. UT Martin at Kennesaw State. And I'll take Kennesaw State. Okay, I'll take Kennesaw State. And let's get down to Wagner at Florida Atlantic. Florida Atlantic. [00:33:46] Speaker B: Wagner. [00:33:47] Speaker A: Okay, you take Wagner. All right. Ohio State at Michigan State. Yeah, I like Ohio State. I, you know, if Michigan State struggled against Boston College, I'm going to tell you, they are not going to be prepared for what is about to happen to them. So you have a whole lot more to protect than what you did with Boston College. And you came up short. I think Ohio State is going to wag the dog, that one, you know, Stanford at Clemson. Tough, tough call here because Stanford is just, I, I mean, that defense, that defense. So I might give it to Stanford. [00:34:32] Speaker B: On this one, depending on what kind of team shows up for Clemson. Ironically, I would say Clemson would be the team. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Right. I would say Clemson, too. But if Stanford beats Clemson, is Damo, is he on the hot seat? [00:34:47] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:34:48] Speaker A: You think he's on the hot seat? [00:34:49] Speaker B: Absolutely. [00:34:51] Speaker A: And, and that's because they'd have that one loss, maybe two, you know, they'd have one loss, get in, you know. [00:34:57] Speaker B: No, you'd have two major out of conference losses. [00:35:00] Speaker A: Yeah, that would be too big. [00:35:01] Speaker B: Would be Stanford, Georgia. [00:35:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:04] Speaker B: Meaning that it doesn't matter what you do within your. [00:35:06] Speaker A: You ain't getting in, you ain't getting it. Right. If you want any hope at all, Clemson, you have to win this game. There's no ifs, ands, you know, or buts about it. You need to win this game. So I feel like Stanford could pull an upset here. I'll take Clemson. But don't be surprised, folks. This is a game that really is a head scratcher. I was stated Houston, Iowa State. All right, let's get down to Monroe and Troy. I'm going to pass those games up. I'm gonna pass those games up. Let's get down to Georgia and Alabama. The big boy of here we go, you know, and yeah, but here we go. Georgia, Alabama. And it's at Alabama. And this one comes on at 7:30pm on ABC and ESPN. Roll Tide. That's who I'm going with. Roll Tide. I'm just going to tell you, I don't think Georgia is prepared to handle Alabama. I think that Melroe is gonna just, you know, I, I don't think Carson, Beck and that they can handle Alabama. I think you're going to get a repeat of what happened last year. [00:36:25] Speaker B: I think I gotta go with Bama. [00:36:27] Speaker A: Yeah, Bama. All right, here's the ones we were talking about. Illinois at Penn State. Now do remember this is at Beaver Stadium in use University park in pa. So it is at Penn State. I like Illinois. I, I don't know how good Penn State is, but I like Illinois. Believe it or not. I think that they're fast, they're strong. This will be a very close game within a touchdown, I think. But I like Illinois. [00:37:00] Speaker B: I think it's a game of mistakes. [00:37:02] Speaker A: Yeah, whoever makes it first is going to suffer. [00:37:04] Speaker B: And honestly, Illinois hasn't made a mistake this year. And you know, I got us. [00:37:11] Speaker A: I like Illinois. [00:37:13] Speaker B: See, the Illinois only played a Kansas team that I feel is kind of overrated so far, far this year. [00:37:19] Speaker A: But they won. [00:37:21] Speaker B: Yeah, they did. [00:37:22] Speaker A: Listen, Bowling Green held Penn State, so. [00:37:26] Speaker B: They also played West Virginia. [00:37:28] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, I understand. But West Virginia isn't that hot either. So I'm telling you, I like Illinois in this game. I don't know why, I just do. Everything tells me pick Illinois. We've got Middle Tennessee at Memphis. Tell me who you want. You're going Penn State. Okay, Middle Tennessee at Memphis. I like Memphis. All right. South Alabama at lsu. Lsu, let's go usa. Yeah, I. Yeah, that would definitely be funny. But that would be hilarious. It would. Because lsu, if you lose this game, I will tell you, you're gonna throw the whole SEC into under the bus into a nightmare scenario because everyone's gonna say, well now you know, how strong are you now? Florida State and smu. SMU is a no brainer for me. Florida State does not. Now we go back to the lost column, I believe. I think SMU has too many weapons form you. They're not going to write the ship this week. [00:38:38] Speaker B: Cincinnati at Texas or Texas Tech? [00:38:43] Speaker A: I'm gonna take Cincinnati. [00:38:45] Speaker B: I'm with you. [00:38:48] Speaker A: How about New Mexico at New Mexico State? Oh, it's a tough one. Those are two teams. Yeah, they are But New Mexico, I like your first one here, buddy. Here's your shot. Here's your shot. All right. Well, they will stick with that one. Air Force at Wyoming. I like Air Force. Air Force is one of those teams that just. [00:39:16] Speaker B: Cowboys just don't have any. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Listen, they're one of those teams that just kind of, you know, they do. And I don't know how they do it, but they do. Boise State at Washington State or. I'm sorry. Washington State at Boise State. I apologize. That's at Alberton Stadium in Boise. Indiana. The blue field. I like Boise State on this one. [00:39:38] Speaker B: Washington State. [00:39:39] Speaker A: I know, but I like Boise State. Washington State very well could upset them, but I don't think it'll happen. [00:39:44] Speaker B: I like Washington State. [00:39:46] Speaker A: Arizona at Utah. [00:39:47] Speaker B: Utah. [00:39:48] Speaker A: And here we go. This is always a very interesting game. Oregon at ucla. I like Oregon. [00:39:57] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I like Oregon. Let me go with Oregon on this one. I think they're gonna write the ship here. [00:40:02] Speaker A: Absolutely. I think so. So as we. We look at the AP coaches poll and then, you know, college football poll. Here we go. [00:40:12] Speaker B: Question is, though, are they gonna get caught sleeping? [00:40:15] Speaker A: So the AFC AFC coaches poll, they still have Georgia at number one. And then they have Texas, and then they have Ohio State. Number four is Alabama. Number five is Ole Miss. Tennessee is six. Oregon is seven. Penn State is eight. Miami is nine. Utah is 10. Missouri is number 11. And you could see Missouri drop. They dropped three spots. Slop. You know, Michigan is at 12. LSU, they. Then Michigan jumped five spots, by the way. LSU jumped three spots. They are 13. Notre Dame is at 14. They went up four spots. Clemson went up four spots to number 15. Number 16 is USC. And of course, they fell four, but rightfully so. Louisville jumped up three spots. They are at 17. Oklahoma is at 18. Number 19 is Iowa State. Number 20 is Oklahoma State. Illinois is 21. And they weren't ranked before, but I believe they do business. This week. You will see them in the top 25. BYU, they also weren't ranked, but now they are there, and rightfully so. So we see them hanging on at 22. UNLV is 23. Texas A M is 24. And of course, Kansas State fell 11 spots. 10 spots. Well, it's got here 11, but they fell down to number 25. If you look at the AP poll. [00:41:57] Speaker B: That's why. [00:41:57] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. So if you look at. That was the. A. Afca. Afca. But this one is the AP poll. And we take a look at this one here and, you know, I. I have some questions. On some of it, you punished Ohio State for having a bye week. [00:42:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:16] Speaker A: And you didn't punish Georgia. [00:42:18] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:42:20] Speaker A: And I think that they're trying to keep it that way because they know that the Georgia Alabama game is coming up. So quit playing with the polls. It, you know, I could see Texas being up there. Number one for sure. Number two. Could have both, you know, been held by. Right. [00:42:37] Speaker B: I think they've got it. Right. Yeah. [00:42:38] Speaker A: Well, okay, so we'll give number two to Georgia, Ohio State, number three, Alabama, number four, Tennessee is number five. [00:42:47] Speaker B: Because you gotta think you've got and see if Oregon does their job and they blow out UCLA and they blow out Michigan State the following week after Ohio State blows out Michigan State. So what's gonna end up happening is organs gonna rise up? They're gonna end up jumping up to number. I would say anywhere between six to four. [00:43:06] Speaker A: We got a lot of good games. [00:43:08] Speaker B: Here's what's gonna happen, though. You have 11 teams that are undefeated right now. [00:43:12] Speaker A: Yeah. Yes. [00:43:14] Speaker B: So you have Georgia playing Alabama. Right. And then you have number 19, who's also a number. Another undefeated. Right now it's about to play number nine, who's undefeated right now. Right, right, right. So it's about to come down to who's left remaining in the undefeateds. And that's really where the rankings are going to fall after that, because then it goes by who played who. [00:43:36] Speaker A: Yeah. Then it starts to go by what was. What was the. The big wins and the matchups and everything else. So again, we have Texas number one, Georgia number two, Ohio State number three, Alabama number four, Tennessee number five. And. And I think that's pretty good. [00:43:53] Speaker B: That's fine. [00:43:53] Speaker A: Ole Miss is number six. I agree with those. Those are probably your top six best teams. I think those are the teams that you will see in the playoffs. Then you start to get into number seven. We'll go through seven through 15. And we have Miami Florida, we don't know what you are yet. We like you. We don't know what you are yet. So the Hurricanes have to get past some opponents here. [00:44:18] Speaker B: Is Miami back? [00:44:19] Speaker A: Yeah. Is Miami truly back or not? We're gonna find out. Oregon, you are a hit and miss team. You could definitely be the best or not the best. We'll find out when Ohio State comes to Oregon, Penn State, number nine. We're gonna find out about you real quick. So you know, this Illinois game is going to be a tale. We're going to know. We're going to have a pretty good idea where Penn State is When they, when they play Illinois, Utah, you're looking like the Big 12 champion. I see you in the playoffs. There's not, there's not a doubt in my mind that after I watched you do what you do and I watched the Cowboys do what they do, and they just weren't prepared. Yeah, they weren't prepared. And. But I like Utah. 10, Missouri. I think you're, you're, you're hanging on. You're, you're trying. You're. You're hanging on, but, yeah, keep on holding. But really, when it comes down to, you know, push comes to shove, you're getting tossed over the boat. I, you know, so enjoy your 40 right now because it's not going to last. Michigan again, I don't know what to think of them yet. [00:45:42] Speaker B: You've got a favorable schedule. You've got a lot of teams at home. [00:45:46] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:46] Speaker B: And that's what it is. And so you got to start traveling. And I think that's where you're going to start having the problems, because not all these teams are going to let you just run over them. [00:45:55] Speaker A: No, I don't think so either. [00:45:56] Speaker B: You know, I mean, Texas didn't let you run it at all, and Texas. [00:46:01] Speaker A: Came into your house and ran you over. Exactly. And, you know, they are such a dangerous team. And last week you didn't really play. [00:46:08] Speaker B: In anybody, so it's. [00:46:09] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm not, I'm not. USC is very good. I like them to be the other side, Big Ten champion, but they did. [00:46:18] Speaker B: They look shell shocked. They look, they were surprised. You know, the running game. [00:46:22] Speaker A: They could not handle the running game. If you run it down their throat, they're in trouble. Yeah, they couldn't handle the running game. It wasn't a passing problem. It was a running problem which exposed their defense. And now that we see that, I think everyone's going to be okay. We know how to play them now. So you need to write the ship and, and Lincoln Riley is known for these letdowns like this. [00:46:48] Speaker B: Yep. Big game letdowns. [00:46:50] Speaker A: You can't have these big game letdowns. You can't. Lsu. Well, just hang on, baby, because it's gonna get worse for you. So you're at number 14 right now. And Louisville, you have a chance for going on up. It's gonna be you or Miami, you know, and maybe Clemson. So we'll, we'll see what happens there. Notre Dame. I, I don't know. I don't know. I. We're gonna see what happens. But if you stumble and you Trip again, you're done. So you know that that'll be the end of this year, but you'll still go to a bowl game. Clemson, if you stumble, you're definitely done. And it might be time for a coaching change, because I can see that Dabo would be on the hot seat for that. One good coach, everything like that. But you got to change with the times, and I don't think he's doing that. He could have reached into the nil. [00:47:48] Speaker B: Bag and he should have went to the Portal. [00:47:50] Speaker A: He shouldn't. [00:47:53] Speaker B: He's stuck in his ways. [00:47:54] Speaker A: Yeah, he's stuck in his ways, and that might be a hamstring pull for him. Iowa State, everything looks really good for you. You could be the dark horse of the Big 12 at this point. We're going to find out. And they're at 18. Number 19. Illinois. Illinois. The Fighting Illini are looking good at 4, 0. And I'm going to tell you, if they go into Beaver Stadium and they beat Penn State, wake up, Big Ten, because you have a new contender in town and it is Iowa. Anyway, Oklahoma State, you need to write the ship this week or you're done. So I hope that you're going to be not looking ahead or getting caught in a trap game, but be prepared. Oklahoma, welcome to the sec. You're going to have some more losses. You will not be in the playoffs, but you might make the 25 at. [00:48:46] Speaker B: The end of the year, though. [00:48:47] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah, you're going to a good bowl game. You'll go to a good bowl game, but it won't be in the playoffs. So. I know it. It sucks, but that's the reality of it all. So, you know, welcome to the sec. Welcome to the sec. My suggestion is buy a binky. You're gonna need one to soothe yourself afterward. Byu, byu, you are looking very good. But. And you're in, you know, in. In the. In the Big 12. Will you be a contender against Utah? Will you be a contender against Iowa State? I don't know. They got a pretty prolific attack, so we're gonna have to wait and see. And they're at 22. 23 is Kansas State. Ah, well, we had high hopes for you, but I could see another loss and you're done. So, you know you're going to go to another good game, but it won't be in the playoff committee. Texas A and M, it's the same thing with you. You're biding your time and we get it, and. And it's okay. You're going to a Bowl game. But you, you are not going to be, you know, they're not going to be. No, they're, they're just not going to be there. So that leaves us with Boise State in the Mountain West. And I can just tell you that you won't be there either, but you're going to make some good statements this year. And, and I, I think that's one of the things that's going to happen is they're going to make some statements. Now let's get on over to. And of course, we'll, we'll come right out and tell you Kaylin and I are very biased. We are Buckeye fans since we were born. It's just in the blood. When you look at Michigan State and you look at Ohio State, the best 1:2 running combination in the nation right now is Ohio State. The defense is stacked. They've given up a total of 20 points in four games that they're, you know, they're not ranked number one right now. I, I think that that probably is. I don't know who's given up less. I'm not sure. But definitely you are a top five defense. There's no question about it. Jim Knowles did come to play and they're very smothering. And of course, you know those points, the 14th, there's always, you're up so high, you start throwing in your second string, your third string. You know what I'm saying? [00:51:26] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:51:26] Speaker A: And, and then it's a gimme touchdown here and there. You know what I mean? [00:51:33] Speaker B: But it's offense leaders, Ohio State's number five. [00:51:39] Speaker A: Okay. [00:51:40] Speaker B: Defensive leaders, Ohio State's number four. [00:51:44] Speaker A: There we go. So top five, as we said, yards allowed. [00:51:49] Speaker B: They're number two. [00:51:50] Speaker A: Yeah. They don't allow yards. They're not allowing. They're, they have shut. The defense has shut down the running games pretty much on everybody else. And that's what's going to make it interesting when it comes up to teams like Penn State, Michigan and Illinois or whoever that we face is because a lot of those teams, Big Ten is a running hard team. SEC is a somewhat of a running. But they're mostly throwing. You know, they've got that, you know, pretty much that's how it goes. This is going to be very interesting, but I really, I think that Ohio State kind of runs away with this one. [00:52:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:52:33] Speaker A: And there's no problem there. The Georgia and Alabama matchup is very intriguing. I just, I think that Alabama, like last year, has more, has more offensive. [00:52:47] Speaker B: Weaponry, but it's, it's like I was saying too though, the last time Alabama got into a game in which it was a close scoring game, they nearly imploded. [00:52:58] Speaker A: So that was against Michigan last year, if you remember, to get to the national championship. And Michigan pulled it out last year as well. [00:53:06] Speaker B: They played a team and they had a close scoring game. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Yeah, they did. Yes, they did. [00:53:13] Speaker B: Was that. [00:53:16] Speaker A: And it, you know, we always said it takes anywhere from, you know, wasn't this year. Yeah, it was. [00:53:24] Speaker B: No, because they've won everything by blowouts. [00:53:26] Speaker A: Let's see. [00:53:26] Speaker B: No, 63 to nothing, 42 to 16 and then 42 to 10. [00:53:30] Speaker A: But the one in 42 to 10. Remember it was real close at the half. [00:53:35] Speaker B: Oh, that was Wisconsin. That's right. [00:53:36] Speaker A: You know, it was real close at the half. You know, so Wisconsin gave them all they could handle till halftime, but Ohio State had that. We had that with Akron. Yeah. So it always takes anywhere from two to four games and then you start to see who's going to gel, who's going to mold together and come together as a team, as a collective whole. And you know, looking at this, I honestly believe that Alabama is going to be that team more than Georgia. Georgia came out of the gate though, against Clemson and, and handed it to him. They look great, but then you get to Kentucky and all of a sudden it's a one point game and you're like, okay, what happened here? And Kentucky plays South Carolina and South Carolina just cleans their clock. You know, I mean that is SEC football. It is cutthroat and you know, but I liken this. I'll take experience of Alabama being Alabama over Georgia being Georgia. Exactly. So Texas is the surprise. Texas is just, I, I think they got it all together. They're, they are the most dangerous team in the country right now. 1, 2 Quarterback and Quinn Ewers can take his time till he's healed up. He is going to pass this, this the same way as he's always passed. Understand he was instructed over at Ohio State before he left that, you know, which is starting to look like a quarterback you. In a lot of ways. [00:55:15] Speaker B: A lot of ways. [00:55:16] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:55:16] Speaker B: I got a question as well though. How important is that Michigan game going to be? You know, this, you beat a Michigan team that didn't have anything figured out. You know, it seems to be this last week Michigan went back to its core of a blue blood running the ball. You know, Michigan's obviously going to continue to do that. You would, you would hope. You think? Yeah. It goes back to the question of though, how good Was that Michigan team that you faced? Because in all honesty, Michigan looked lost. [00:55:48] Speaker A: Well, yeah. And they were depleted. Understand? Yeah, they were. They were depleted. They lost a lot of starters. [00:55:54] Speaker B: Question of, is Texas going to walk into this thing thinking they're hot against the Georgia and Alabama team and get ransacked? [00:56:05] Speaker A: Yeah. Because we're going off of what Texas did to Alabama last year. [00:56:09] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:10] Speaker A: And Alabama was new last year. You know what I'm saying? So. But who ended up at the end? [00:56:16] Speaker B: Alabama. [00:56:17] Speaker A: Alabama. So, you know, it was a close game, and it was a very close game. So it. Overtime, I believe what it. Yeah. So you know that. That's a good question. As for eyesight right now, Texas. [00:56:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:37] Speaker A: Any one of the top four. Could be any one of the top four. I don't care which way you align them. No, they could. They could all be there Week six. We'll know who's right. You know, and then I look at again, Tennessee. Tennessee goes to Oklahoma in their house. [00:56:56] Speaker B: Tennessee's legit. [00:56:57] Speaker A: Tennessee is legit. Listen, if you don't think that that quarterback. [00:57:02] Speaker B: And it ain't even about the quarterback. They have the number one defense. [00:57:05] Speaker A: Oh, they do. And the defense is smothering. And the best part about it, too, you got Squirrel White, you got Samson. You got all kinds of receivers back there, and they're deep. And then you have a quarterback who is lethal. He's like a surgeon in there, you know? And I mean, when you look at his Southern style. Oh, my goodness. [00:57:27] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:28] Speaker A: And you know, he's. He's a Hawaiian. He is. Is amazing. And it was funny watching the interview with him. And his father gets on his case if he does something wrong, which I loved. I thought that was. That was classic. Utah looks good. There are some teams that just reload. And we know that. I mean, you're going to see that at Texas, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee, and. And these teams are going to, year in and year out, just reload. Michigan is one of those teams. Penn State is one of those teams. Utah, you know, it used to be usc, but we're gonna see how that goes. We're gonna see how Lincoln does. Right now, I. I'm more upset at Lincoln Riley at that game than anything else. You had the talent. Your talent was better than their talent. And for whatever reason, something collapsed there. So we're gonna see how that goes. Anyway, guys, I guess what we'll do is we're gonna. We're gonna take our hits and our misses and everything. And watch out for byu. They're a team that kind of reloads, they, they're not getting the, the, these five stars or anything like that, but you pack in some great top quality three and four stars. Yep, you've got yourself a good football team. So anybody who thinks, oh, well, you know, top five is going to get you what you want, that is not necessarily true. So it, boy, I'll tell you what it, what a great, great football season we're gonna have. And we're gonna, we're gonna have a better idea. This is going to be the time this next week when you join us. We're going to be able to kind of give you a better picture of what's going on. Till then, I want to thank, as always, my son Kalyn for joining me and has been a part of this year with me here on college football top 25 offsides. So I am grateful for that. Anyway, we can't wait to get back next week and get with you and we'll find out who is doing what. Till then, you guys take care and enjoy the football, man, because it's a coming. All right, man, we're out.
