[00:00:03] Guys, how you doing? And I am back. It's Michael with life, walk with Christ, God, right here on streamyard. Anyway, we're in a couple other spots, too, but this is where we're going to be from right here on in, which is fantastic.
[00:00:21] So we ended last week. We were in Genesis 20, chapter 20, the test of Abimelech. And we know that Abraham, as he was going down, said, please call me your brother, and you're my sister, so that they won't harm me because of your beauty and slay me and take you for a wife. And of course, we all know that Abraham and Sarah are married. So Abimeleche, once God came to him in a dream and said, you're a dead man.
[00:00:58] Abimelech really had some problems with that and said, what have you done? What have you brought upon me? This is your wife, and you told me it was your sister, which in essence is true. So we are now at the birth of Isaac, and there's some things that we should know, first of all, where the location and everything is.
[00:01:22] So we're going to talk about the dead Sea. It's a lake that's about 50 miles long and 10 miles wide in the southern Palestine, the Jordan river, and other smaller streams that flow into it. Because it lies at the lowest point on earth, no water flows out of it. Because of the rapid water loss through evaporation, salts and other minerals have become highly concentrated in it. This has made land made the lake unfit for marine life. Thus it's named the dead Seas.
[00:01:55] In Abraham's time, five cities, known as the cities of the plain, were situated at the south end of the Dead Sea because of their great wickedness. We know that four of these cities, Sodom, Gomorrah, Adam and Zeboim, were destroyed by earthquakes and fire. Many scholars believe that the remains of these cities were covered in layers years by the dead Sea as waters shifted when other earthquakes had struck the area. So very, very interesting right there. So let's get to our story right here, the best part of the Bible. I really love when we're getting into this stuff.
[00:02:41] And we're going to start chapter 21, page 29 of the King James Bible.
[00:02:49] And we're in Genesis. So Genesis 21, chapter 21. And the Lord visited Sarah, and he had said, and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken for Sarah conceived and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bore to him, Isaac. So here we are. Now we got Isaac, which is fantastic, because this is really going to tell us a lot about Abraham. His righteousness, his deep faith, his commitment. Now we're getting into it. You know, we're having a lot of fun. And you can see that a whole bunch of things are going on in the background.
[00:03:41] So very interesting.
[00:03:45] And here we go.
[00:03:47] And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac, being eight days old, as God had commanded him. So he's following everything that the Lord has told him. He's in this great relationship with Goddesse and, you know, communicating and everything else. We see. God is invested in mankind and loves us. That's what makes this the greatest love story of all time. And it's just wonderfully, poetically, almost poetically written.
[00:04:16] And, you know, I love to dive deep into it because there's so much going on in the background.
[00:04:22] And Abraham was 100 years old when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God had made me to laugh so that all that here will laugh with me.
[00:04:37] And we know this because when she was told she's going to have this child, she laughed. And, you know, why are you laughing? Why are you laughing? And she said, who would have said unto Abraham that Sarah would have given children suck? For I have borne him a son in his old age, so all of a sudden, this is all coming true. And Sarah did laugh. And when you think about that, of course, why are you laughing? Do you not understand that I can do anything I want?
[00:05:19] And I'm telling you, you're going to have a child, and you're laughing, and I'm going to prove it. So can you imagine that all of a sudden here is Isaac in the world after she laughed.
[00:05:35] Boom. And there he is. So. And the trial grew and was weaned. And Abraham made a great feast.
[00:05:46] And Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar and the Egyptian which she had borne unto Abraham, mocking.
[00:05:58] Wherefore she said unto Abraham, cast out this bondwoman and her son. For a son of a bondwoman shall not be the heir with my son, even with Isaac. So if you remember, Sarah had asked Abraham to go into Hagar, lay with her so that he would have an heir.
[00:06:25] And he did this. It's a hard thing when you're asking somebody that you love to do this. So she would have a child, an heir. And of course she did this.
[00:06:36] Well, now, here's that conflict that we're talking about. You know, we have a lot of conflict in the Bible and then reconciliation later on. Things come together. We're going to see this again and again. But so Isaac is going to cast them out. And the very thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
[00:06:55] And God said unto Abraham, let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad and because of thy bondwoman and all that Sarah had said unto thee, hearken unto her voice, for in Isaac thy seed shall be called.
[00:07:12] So here we go. You know, he's telling him, do this. Do as Sarah asks. Cast them on out.
[00:07:22] You know, Isaac is going to be the heir and that's how this is going to go. And if you guys hang on for 1 second, I got to let this dog out.
[00:07:32] Go.
[00:07:46] So, okay, so we're back. Here we go. And we're on verse 13. So here we go. And the son of the bond woman, I will make a nation because he is thy seed. So God is basically telling you, Abraham, listen, even though you're casting her out, don't worry about it. So she's the bondwoman, but her son, I'm going to make, you know, a nation. Here we go. And because he is thy seed. And Abraham rose up early in the morning and took bread and a bottle of water and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder and the child and sent her away. And she departed and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba. And the water was spent in the bottle. And she cast the child under one of the shrubs and she went and sat down over against him a good ways off as if it were a bow shot, for she said, let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him and lift up her voice and wept. And you could see how this could very hard on Hagar. But at the same time, because of the conflict that we're talking about, she also kind of created that mess in a lot of ways, a jealousy or different things going on, which made Sarah very uncomfortable, you know. And of course, Sarah kind of put herself in that way, too. But, you know, you can't have, it's a conflict having two women or two men or anybody that are dealing with this, especially with one father in this case. So it's a hard thing. I can't imagine the stress of being Abraham and having to go lay with the bond woman who is serving Sarah and then afterward this child and everything. And Sarah is like, you got to send them on their way and that's his seed. But God has intervened and said, don't worry about this. Don't let it be grievous to you. I am going to take care of the situation.
[00:10:11] And God heard the voice of the lad. And the angel of God called out to Hagar out of the heaven and said to her, what aileth thee, Hagar? Fear not, for Gath had heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad and hold him in thy hand, for I will make him a great nation.
[00:10:34] There is now the word of God from the angels coming down, saying, don't worry. It's going to be okay. So Hagar has to have a lot of faith here, you know.
[00:10:49] And God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the bottle with water and gave the lad drink. And God was with the lad, and he grew and dwelt in the wilderness and became an archer.
[00:11:04] So we're seeing now where Abraham's first son, things were happening for him. He's an archer. He's in the wilderness. He can take care of himself. And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran. And his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt. And it came to pass at that time that Abimelech and Philcol, the chief captain of the host, spoken to Abraham, saying, God is with thee and all that thou doest. Now therefore swear unto me by God that thou will not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son, but will, according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shall do unto me. And to the land wherein that you have soldiered, where you have gone.
[00:12:03] And Abraham said, I will swear. And Abram reproved Abimelech because of the well water and Abimelech servants had violently taken away. And Abimelech said, I will not. Who hath done this thing? Neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard of it but today. And Abraham took sheep and oxen and gave them to Abimelech. And both of them made a covenant. So now you have this agreement now, and we already know what's happened before. So when the well water and everything was taken away, Bimik said, whoa, wait a minute here. I had nothing to do with this. I didn't do this. I didn't ask for this to be done.
[00:12:52] Please don't. And he understands too.
[00:12:56] God came to him in the dream, said, you're a dead man. And basically, Abimelech is like. He's fearful. He said, I don't want this.
[00:13:05] You know I haven't heard of this. I didn't know anything about this. Please, let's make a covenant, you and I. And it was done. And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves. And. And Abimelech said unto Abraham, what mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast sent by themselves? And he said, for these seven ewe lambs thou shalt take of my hand that they may be a witness unto me that I have digged this well. Therefore he called that place Beersheba.
[00:13:43] Beersheba. Because they swore both of them. Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba. Then Abimelech rose up and Phil called the chief of the captain of the host. And they returned unto the land of the Philistines. And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba and called there on the name of the Lord, the everlasting God.
[00:14:07] Now it's not just the Lord. It is the everlasting goddess. And again this is being described throughout the Bible whether New Testament or Old Testament. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is the beginning and the end. But he is God. He will be forever. And that is what is being told here. So Abraham traveled or sojourned in the Philistines lands many days.
[00:14:43] Chapter 22. And it came to pass after these things that God did tempt Abraham and said unto Abraham and he said, behold, here I am, nahini, which is Hebrew for I am here. Here I am, God. You know. So behold, here I am, Nahini. And very, very interesting because if you study the ancient Christianity, you hear this. Now we've got a lot of covenants.
[00:15:18] And Abraham's faith in God must have increased after Isaac's birth. Because when God told Abraham to do the unthinkable, to sacrifice his only son Isaac. And we're going to find this out in just a minute. Abraham was willing before to go through with it. And why? Because of his faith. He had believed that no matter what, God can raise the dead. He already knew that. So think about that as we go on because really Isaac is, goes on through. And Jesus was the descendant of where it all began. Abraham, Isaac, Isaac. So here we are, he said, now take thy son, thy only son Isaac, whom thou lovest and get thee into the land of Moriah and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
[00:16:16] Now Abraham, at this point he was already grievous because of Hagar having to leave and taking his son.
[00:16:26] Now God is asking him to sacrifice Isaac. And you're going to take him into this land. I'll let you know along the way where.
[00:16:37] And I'm sure Abraham is just panicked and stricken, but guess what? He's not.
[00:16:47] And Abraham rose up early in the morning, saddled his ass and took two of his young men with him. And Isaac, his son. And clave the wood for the burnt offering. And rose up and went into the place which God had told him.
[00:17:03] Then on the third day, Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place afar off. You notice there's a third day there. On the third day, Christ Rose. On the third day. You're going to see. Here's that numerology that we're talking about. Where you can kind of singing things from the future into the past and the past into the future. So we're looking at all this. And it's very interesting. These are the things that I'm saying that are going on in the background. And it's very interesting when you. When you really take a look and delve deep into it. And Abraham said unto the his young man, abide ye here with the ass.
[00:17:43] And I and the lad will go yonder and worship and come again to you.
[00:17:50] And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it upon Isaac, his son.
[00:17:57] And he took the fire with his hand and a knife. And they went, both of them together. And Isaac spoke unto Abram, his father, and said, my father, he said, here I am, my son, Nahini.
[00:18:11] And he said, behold the fire and the wooden. But where is the lamb for a burnt offering?
[00:18:18] Isaac said, what are we going to sacrifice?
[00:18:23] It's just you and I.
[00:18:25] So he's got to be starting to question or wonder, okay, what is going on?
[00:18:31] And I'm sure you know he's smart. So let's see what happens here.
[00:18:39] And Abraham said, my son, goddess provide.
[00:18:43] God will provide himself a lamb for the burnt offering. So they went, both of them together.
[00:18:51] Isaac at this point, is the lamb. At that point, he is the burnt. He is the burnt offering, the sacrifice. But he is not telling Isaac this at that point.
[00:19:02] And they came to the place which God told them of. And Abraham built an altar there. And laid the wood, the wood in order. And bound Isaac, his son, and laid him upon the altar, the wood. And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son.
[00:19:22] Imagine having to take a knife, lay it out, do a burnt offering. Set everything up. The wood and everything like that. But Isaac does it without question. Because God said, do it not only was it a faith and it was a, you know, God has already told him before. Listen, he's going to be numerous as the stars and the sand on the seashore. That's what he's going to do. He is, you know, everything is going to spring from Isaac. So Abraham at this point is probably with his righteousness and his faith. And God does find him righteous, that he's not worried because he knows that he can raise him from the dead. So here we go. And Abraham stretched forth his hand and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven and said, abraham, abraham. He said, nahini, here I am.
[00:20:25] He said, lay not thy hand upon the laden, neither do anything unto him. For now I know that thou fearest God, seeing that thou has not withheld thy son, thy only son, from me.
[00:20:44] You're getting a picture here. Because Abraham was going to slay Isaac.
[00:20:52] And God sees this without question.
[00:20:56] At the same time, is this setting up for Christ, because God is sending Christ down eventually in the flesh to be slayed.
[00:21:13] Very much kind of parallel going on here. Future again, New Testament, Old Testament. But now you kind of have this idea of God being just, merciful, full of grace and loving us. That seeing Isaac do this had to be mind blowing.
[00:21:39] I couldn't even imagine that. And I'd be scared to death to even be put in that situation.
[00:21:45] But I. What does God do?
[00:21:48] I love mankind. Don't do this.
[00:21:51] Stop right here. I see that you are faithful. I have tested you and weighed and measured you. And you are upright, righteous.
[00:22:04] So here we go.
[00:22:06] Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked and behold behind him, a Ramirez caught in a thicket by its horns. And Abraham went and took the rat and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And then Abraham called the name of that place, Jehovah, and said, this is the day in the mount of the Lord. It shall be seen.
[00:22:34] The Lord will see or provide always. And you know, that's basically what that is. And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of the heaven the second time and said, by myself, I have sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou has done this thing and thou has not withheld thy son, thy only son, that is a blessing. I will bless thee in multiplying. I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven. And the Sandheen which is upon the seashore. And thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies.
[00:23:11] And in thy seed shall all nations of the earth be blessed because thou has obeyed my voice. So think about this. Every one of the nations. Here we go. Descendants all the way down really comes back to Abraham and Isaac. And, you know, here we're getting this right now. So, I mean, if you follow this and you follow the genealogy, you follow everything that happens. And a lot of people say, okay, Christ is a descendant of David. Well, look back further. Where was David? And the descendant of who? Let's look at Abraham, let's look at Sarah, let's look at Isaac. And it's very interesting.
[00:23:55] So Abraham returned to his young men, and they rose up and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham dwelt in Beersheba. And it came to pass after these things that it was told, Abraham saying, behold, Milcah, she had also borne children unto thy brother Nahor Huz, his firstborn, and Buzz, his brother, and Kemuel and the father of Aram and I, Shezad and Hazor and Phildash and Jilpeth and Bethul and Bethul Begat Rebecca. These eight Milkath did bear to Nehor, Abraham's brother.
[00:24:38] Now it's going to be interesting because Rebecca is going to play this big role. And this concubine, whose name was Ruma, she also bear Tiba and Gayam and Thayash and Mahaka, chapter 23. And I can never pronounce these words. I apologize for that. I do the best that I can. So, but you get the gist of the genealogy now how things are playing out. So, and Sarah was 100, 720 years old. These were the years of the life of Sarah. And Sarah died in Kirjatheba. And same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her. And Abraham stood up before his dead and spoke unto the sons of Heth, saying, I am a stranger and sojourner with you. Give me a possession of a burying place with you that I may bury my dead out of my sight. And the children of Hath answered Abraham, saying unto him, hear us, my lord. Thou art a mighty prince among us in the choice of our sepulchres. Bury thy dead. None of us shall withhold from thee the sepulcher, but that thou may bury thy dead. And Abraham stood up and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth. And he communed with them, saying, if it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me and entreat me to Ephraim, the son of Zoar. That he may give me a cave of Makola which he had, which is in the end of his field. For as much money as it is worth, he shall give it to me for a possession of a burying place amongst you. And Ephraim dwelt among the children of Heth and Ephraim. And the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of heth. Even of all that went in the gate of the city, saying, nay, my lord, hear me. The field I give thee and the cave that is in there, I give it to thee in the presence of thy son of my people, I give I it. Thee. Bury thy dead. And Abraham bowed himself down before the people of the land and spoke to Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, but if thou will give it, I pray thee, hear me. I will give thee money for the field. Take it of me. And I will bury my dead there. And Ephraim answered Abraham, saying unto him, my lord, hearken unto me. The land is worth 400 shekels of silver. What is this that between me and thee? Bury, therefore thy dead.
[00:27:41] So they're not asking for anything, you know. And Abraham hearkened unto Ephraim. And Abraham he weighed to ephraim the silver which he named in the audience of her son's Hep 400 shekels of silver. Current money with the merchant. And the field of Ephron, which was in Makbala, which was before Mamre in the field, the cave which was therein. And all the trees which were in the field that were in all the borders round about were made sure unto Abraham for possession in the presence of the children of Hethehehehe before all that went into the gate of this city. And Abraham after this, buried Sarah, his wife, in the cave of the Field of MAcHpEgo before MamRe. The same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And the field and the cave that is therein were made sure unto ABrAHAM for a possession of a Burial Place. The sons of Heth, he's the certified owner, so they made sure. You know, it's always going to be this way. You own this. Here you go now. Isaac's marriage. Here we go. And Abraham was old and well stricken in age. And the Lord had blessed AbrAHam in all things well advanced, um, taking great care of Abraham. And AbrAham said unto his eldest servant of the house that ruled over all that he had put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh and I will make thee swear by the Lord, the God of heaven and the God of the earth. That thou shall not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites among the whom I dwell. But thou shall go unto my country, to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac.
[00:29:42] Okay, he.
[00:29:44] He's dwelling in CaNAan and everything else, but he wants that lineage to be from his kindred. And you can see this, and he's. Now he's making this thing. Put your hand right here on my hip. Let's. Let's make this right here, right now. This is what I want.
[00:30:07] And the servant said unto him, pre adventure, the woman will not be willing to follow me. Into this land must thine. Bring thy son again into the land from whence thou camest. And Abraham said unto him, beware that thou shalt not.
[00:30:23] Bring not my son hither again. And the Lord God of heaven, which took me from my father's house and from the land of my kindred, and which spoke unto me that swear unto me, saying, unto thy seed I will give this land, and he shall send his angel before thee. And thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence. And if a woman not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this. My oath.
[00:30:54] Only. Bring not my son thither again. Don't bring him back.
[00:31:00] And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham, his master, and swear to him concerning the matter. So you can see now, Abraham's servant is going to make sure that Abraham's wish is carried out. And it's very important because we're going to see.
[00:31:20] We're seeing all the incredible things that God has done. But God has made this covenant with Abraham. And he, you know, matter of fact, he's made a few. So if you look at it, we learn from the rest of the Bible that God's plan was even bigger than what Abraham and Sarah may have understood. Not only would their descendants be numerous, but the Messiah, Jesus the savior, would. Would be born through Abraham's lineage. Remember that Genesis is a book of beginnings. It tells not only the beginning of the nation of Israel through a son promised to Abraham and Sarah, but it also explains the beginning of a history which would ultimately lead to Jesus Christ, the son of God.
[00:32:11] And it's very, you know, it's very cool how this is all being.
[00:32:21] Happening right before us.
[00:32:24] And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master and departed, for all the goods of his master were in his hand. And he arose and he went to Mesopotamia unto the city of Nahor. And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of evening, even the time that women go out to draw water.
[00:32:47] And he said, o Lord God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day. Show kindness unto my master Abraham.
[00:33:00] Work it out for him favorably. And you know, of course, God's just infinite wisdom and plan. Watch how this works out. This is really cool. This is one of these moments in the Bible that people really need to take a look and appreciate everything that God does. So let's look. Behold, I stand here by the well of water. And the daughters of Mendez of the city come out to draw water. Let it come to pass that the damsel of whom I shall say, let down thy pitcher. And I pray thee that I may drink. And she shall say, drink. And I will give thy camels drink also. Let the same be that she shall that thou hast anointed for thy servant Isaac.
[00:33:55] Okay, she's gonna offer the servant water and then say, listen, I'm gonna. Let me get the camel something to drink too.
[00:34:03] That's the one. It's you.
[00:34:06] I'm picking you. And we have got the person that you're going to be with. And love for Isaac and for. And thereby. And here we go. And I will give the camels drink also. Let the same be she that thou has appointed for thy servant Isaac. And thereby I shall know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master. And it came to pass before he had done speaking that behold, Rebecca came out who was born to Bethuel, the son of Milcah and the wife of Nehor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And the damsel was very fair to look at upon a virgin. Neither had any man known her. And she went down to the well and filled her pitcher and came up and the servant ran to meet her and said, let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher.
[00:35:07] And she said, drink, my lord. And she didn't haste, you know, and let down her pitcher upon her hand and gave him drink. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also until they have done drinking. And she hastened and emptied her pitcher into the trough. And she ran again to the well to draw water and drew for all his camels. And the man wondering at her. And it held his peace, to wit, whether the lord had made his journey prosperous or not.
[00:35:43] Did he? Yeah, but he doesn't know that yet as to whether it's going to be so. And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring, half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her, hands of ten shekels, weight of gold, jewels for her forehead and everything, and said, whose daughter art thou? Tell me, I pray thee, is there a room in thy father's house for us to lodge in? And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel, the son of Micah, which she bare unto nahor.
[00:36:20] And she said, moreover unto him, we have both straw and a provider enough and a room to lodge in, food for the camels, everything she could take care of, everything. And the man bowed down his head and worshiped to the Lord.
[00:36:37] Now he's got to be blown away now at this point, because this has already said was going to happen, and it's happening. So here she is. This is going to be Rebecca. That's it.
[00:36:50] We know this.
[00:36:52] And he blessed. And he said, blessed be the Lord God thy master, Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and the truth. I being in the way. The Lord led me to the house of my master's brethren. And the damsel ran and told them of her mother's house, these things.
[00:37:14] And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban. And Laban ran out unto the man into unto the well. And it came to pass when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands. And when he heard the words of Rebekah, his sister, saying, thus spoke the man unto me, that he came unto the man. And behold, he stood by the camels at the well. And he said, come in, thou blessed of the Lord. Wherefore standeth thou without.
[00:37:45] For I have prepared the house and the room for the camels.
[00:37:50] And the man came into the house, he ungirded his candles and gave straw and provided for the camels and water to wash his feet and the men's feet that were with him. Now here we go. We have this washing of feet again. And it's not again. This is like, you know, but we know in Matthew and everything. Christ washed the disciples feet. So this is, here we are, back forth, back forth. And this, this proves the Bible as it goes along. You could see that it is. It is proving itself all the way through, which is to me just blows my mind. It's just wonderful. Okay. And there was a set meat before him to eat, but he said, I will not eat until I have told my errand. And he said, speak on. And he said, I am Abraham's servante. And the Lord hath blessed my master greatly and he has become great. And he hath given him flocks and herds and silver and gold, menservants and maidservants and camels and asses. And Sarah, my master's wife, bare a son to my master when she was old. And unto him has given all that he hath.
[00:39:09] And my master made me swear saying, thou shall not take a wife to my son, the daughters of the Canaanites in whose land I dwell. But thou shalt go unto my father's house and to my kindred and take a wife unto my son.
[00:39:25] Family. They're keeping everything in the family.
[00:39:29] And I said unto my master, pre adventure, the woman will not follow me. And he said unto me, the lord before whom I talk will send his angel with thee and prosper thy way. And thou shalt take a wife for thy son of my kindred and of my father's house.
[00:39:46] Basically, the angel is going to work it out. It's going to happen. Okay. God has made sure that it's going to happen.
[00:39:57] Then thou shalt be clear from this oath when I comes to my kindred. And if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath. And and I came this day unto the well and said, o lord of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way, which I go, behold, I stand by the well of water. And it shall come to pass that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water. And I say to her, give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink. And she say to me, both drink thou and I will also draw for thy camels. Let the same be the woman whom the Lord hath appointed for my master. Son, you could see the prophetic things that are happening here and these things that God is making sure that happen. So in a lot of ways it is a very serious promise, contact, oath or treaty. And that's what this covenant kind of is.
[00:41:01] They're accompanied by a sign such as rainbow and God's covenant with Noah, the covenant of the new covenant and Jesus blood.
[00:41:10] And again, God's love for us that he's willing to make these covenants for us because we fail them all the time. But.
[00:41:20] And before I had done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebecca came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down into the well and drew water. And I said unto her, let me drink, I pray thee. And she made haste and let down her pitcher from her shoulder and said, drink, and I will give thee thy camels to drink also. So I drink, and she made the camels drink also. And I asked her and said, whose daughter out thou? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel Nehor, son from Milcah, born unto him. And I put the earring upon her face and the bracelets upon her hands, you know, and the rings in her nose and stuff like that. You can go to Ezekiel 1611 and see how all this works. I bowed down my head and worshiped to the Lord and blessed the Lord God of my master, Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son. And now, if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me, and if not, tell me that I may turn to the right hand or to the left. Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, this thing proceedeth from the Lord. We cannot speak unto thee bad or good.
[00:42:35] Here we go. Just a little. Just a little bit of, you know, let's see what happens. Behold, Rebecca is before thee. Take her and go and let her be thy master, son, son's wife. And the Lord hath spoken. And it came to pass that when Abraham's servant heard the words, he worshiped the Lord, bowing himself to the earth. And the servant brought forth jewels of silver and jewels of gold and raiment and gave them to Rebecca. He also gave to her brother and her mother precious things, kind of like a dowry in a way. But, you know, they're like. They're not going to go against God, and they're well aware of their kindred. So let's see what happens here. And they did eat and drink, and the men that were with him and tarried all night. And they rose up in the morning and he said, send me away unto my master and her brother. And her mother said, let the damsel abide with us a few days, at least ten after that, she shall go. And he said to him, hinder me not seeing the Lord hath prospered my way, send me away, that I may go to my master. And they said, we will call the damsel and inquire at her mouth. They're going to ask her.
[00:43:53] And they called Rebecca and said unto her, will thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.
[00:44:00] So this is all playing out. It's God's hand in this.
[00:44:06] She's going. And of course, you know, she's got to be thinking, okay, I've never met him. Seeing him their kindred. Okay. But everything that she did and the angel was there, remember, was told was going to happen. Yep. She's going to bring a picture. She's going to give you a drink. She's going to, you know, give the camels drink and everything else. It's all played out exactly how it was supposed to happen.
[00:44:36] It's prophetic. You can, you can see these things.
[00:44:40] And they sent away Rebecca and their sister and her nurse and Abraham's servant and his men. And they bless Rebekah and said unto her, thou art our sister. Be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them. Descendants gain victory over.
[00:45:01] And Rebecca arose and her damsels and they rode upon the camels and followed the man. And the servant took Rebekah and went his way. And Isaac came from the way of.
[00:45:13] Well, now I'm never going to get this right. Lahore.
[00:45:18] For he dwelt in the south country.
[00:45:20] And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide. And he lifted up his eyes and saw. And behold, the camels were coming to. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes. And when she saw Isaac, she lifted off the camel.
[00:45:38] For she had said unto the servant, what man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, it is my master.
[00:45:49] Therefore she took a veil and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And Isaac brought her a, unto his mother into his mother's tent, into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebecca. And she became his wife, and he loved her. And Isaac was comforted by his mother's death.
[00:46:14] And we're going to stop there because we're at that time, we're on chapter 25 now. But you see how this is all worked out. So it's, it's very amazing to me.
[00:46:29] All right. And today is ten six of 24.
[00:46:36] And we're going to get into chapter 25 where Abraham passes away.
[00:46:45] So that's where we're going to stop today.
[00:46:48] But you could see all the different things that are going on.
[00:46:53] And now this is going to be.
[00:46:57] We're really getting into some things that is really cool.
[00:47:03] And I can't wait. So we're going to learn about, after Abraham and Sarah's deaths, the biblical narrative turns to Isaac's twin sons. And we're going to, we're going to catch that next Sunday.
[00:47:16] And it's going to be very interesting how this plays out, but I'm going to put a little mark there and close that one up.
[00:47:29] But it's good that you have kind of a background of where these things are happening, the dead seas and why and get kind of a layout of everything going on.
[00:47:45] It's very cool but I love how the angels and everything play out and say okay, this is what's going to happen and these things come to fulfillment and all the different things going on in the background.
[00:47:59] So I'm really excited for this next part. Chapter 25, Genesis. Genesis, just Genesis is like one of my favorite, favorite, you know, huge book in the Bible. It's just fantastic. But we'll get into that next week. Listen, thanks for joining right here on Life Walk with Christ God on the trim radio network and we'll catch you guys. Have a blessed week and don't forget to thank God because God has been so good to us and anyway, have a good week. Take care.
