[00:00:06] Speaker A: They say this mountain can't be moved they say these chains will never break but they don't know you like we do there is power power in your name we've heard that there is no way through we've heard that I will never change. But I'll tell you what, we can find a better way, hopefully. Anyway, we are covering chapter three in the book of John. So why don't we get to that right now and I'll tell you what. It is a wonderful, wonderful book. One of my favorites, and why we're right here on this one. I absolutely am amazed. And I love the Bible and everything that I read. I delve into it more and more and I just love it. It's just some great stuff and I enjoy it just immensely. But let's get on into it. Chapter three, that's page 1182. Christ witnesses to Nicodemus. There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. The same came to Jesus by night and said unto him, rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. And of course, you can go back, if you have a study edition, you can go back all the way to or see acts 1038, and it covers all that, too. Jesus answered and said to him, verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Now, you have to wonder, why exactly did Christ say that and bring that out? Because Nicodemus is basically saying, okay, the only way that you could do these miracles is you're a man of God. And being that Christ says, hey, listen, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. And Nicodemus said unto him, how can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born? See, Nicodemus was missing the whole idea that spiritually you must be born again. You must accept and acknowledge that being born again. And of course, nothing has happened to Christ yet, but it's going to. But you must be spiritually reborn and throw away all the things of today's world. What's worldly? So Nicodemus, you know, asked him that question, and Jesus answered, and of course, we're verse five. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh and whether it goeth. So everyone that is born of the spirit, he's telling them, you have to get a higher level of thinking. We are fighting a spiritual warfare, and we have to be above our fleshly thoughts, our fleshly desires, and worldly things. We have to put those things behind us and then start off anew in a christlike thought, in a Christ like spirit. Nicodemus answered and said to him, how can these things be? And Jesus answered and said to him, art thou a minister of Israel and knowest not these things you're preaching, but you don't know that these things exist. You don't know that they're the spirit, that there is a higher calling. Verily, verily, I say unto thee, we speak, that we do know and testify that we have seen and ye receive not our witness. I have told you earthly things. And you believe not? How shall ye believe if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to the heaven? But he that came down from heaven. Even the son of man, which is in heaven. And Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness. Even so must the son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world. But that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned. But he that believeth not is condemned already. Because he hath not believed. In the name of the only begotten son of God. And this is the condemnation. That the light is come into the world. And men love darkness rather than light. Because their deeds were evil. For everyone that doth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light. Least his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light. That his deeds may be manifest, that they are wrought in God. Christ is letting him know, right in front of him, here I am. I am God's son. I am here not to condemn you, but to save you. And that's what we're here for. I am here to save you. So Nicodemus is not understanding. And even though the Pharisees and all of them know scripture, and they know it well, what they don't understand is. And we're going to find in this time as we go along. They missed the boat. They had Christ, God his son, right in front of them. And they didn't believe it. And yet they saw it with their own eyes. They could hear him, but they could not understand. And they saw him, and they could not perceive. And they missed the boat because of this. So here we are. Verse 22. John the Baptist, witnesses concerning Christ. After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judea. And there he tarried with them and baptized. And John also was baptizing in anon near the salim. Because there was so much water there. And they came and were baptized. For John was not yet cast into prison. Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying. And they came unto John and said unto him, rabbi, he that was with thee beyond the Jordan to whom thou bearest witness, behold the same baptizers. And all men come to you know they're coming to him and asking him these questions. And John answered and said, a man can receive nothing except it be given him from heaven. John understands this. Ye yourselves bear me witness that I said I am not the Christ. But that I am sent before him. I am here before him, announcing him. I am making way. I am showing everybody. Listen. The one after me is God's son. He is the one I told you about. He is the holy one. He that had the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom which standeth and heareth him rejoice greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. This is my joy. Therefore is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. I have now told you about him. I am bearing witness to him. But doesn't matter if I'm a rabbi or if I'm baptizing. Don't be excited for me. Be excited for Christ. John is telling him he must increase, but I must decrease. And it's very wonderful. And of course, the Bible is open to all kinds of interpretation. But to me, it just jumps right on at you. So, verse 31. Here we go. He that cometh from above is above all. He that is of this earth is earthly and speaketh of the earth. He that cometh from heaven is above all. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifyeth. And no man receiveth his testimony. He that had received his testimony had set to his seal that God is true. For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God. For God giveth not the spirit by the measure unto him. The father loveth the son. And hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life. And he that believeth not on the son shall not see life. But the wrath of God abideth on him. I mean, it's very clear. And they're not understanding that. They're not receiving his testimony. They're not believing in Christ. Maybe he's a prophet, maybe he's a rabbi, maybe he's something. But God's son. No. But Nicodemus understands at least one part. That how could he do the miracles that he does? How is he? And all the miracles of love? So here we go. We're going to go to chapter four, page 1184. When, therefore, the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John. Though Jesus himself baptized not but his disciples. He left Judea and departed again into Galilee. And he must needs go through Samaria. Then cometh he to a city of Samaria which is called seashor. Near the partial of the ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus, therefore, being wearied with his journey sat thus on the well. And it was about the 6th hour there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said unto her, give me to drink. For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat. Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, how is it that thou, being a jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? For the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said to her, if thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith to thee, give me to drink, thou would have asked of him and he would have given thee living water. She doesn't recognize that it's Jesus, but he's telling her now. And of course she's intrigued. And of course she already feels below him because the Jews don't and the Samaritans don't get along. The women say it to him, sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep from once. Then hast thou that living water art thou greater than our father Jacob which gave us the well and drank thereof himself and his children and his cattle? And Jesus answered and said unto her, whoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again. But whoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst. But the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. The woman said unto him, sir, give me this water that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Jesus said to her, go call thy husband and come hither. The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, thou hast well said, I have no husband, for thou hast had five husbands. And he whom thou now hast is not thy husband. In that settest thou truly. The woman said unto him, sir, I perceive that thou are a prophet. Our fathers worshiped in this mountain. And ye say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. And Jesus said to her, woman, believe me, the hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem. Worship the father ye worship, ye know not what we know what we worship. For salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and is now when the true worshipers shall worship the father in spirit and in the truth. For the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman said to him, I know that the Messiah cometh, which is called Christ. When he is come, he will tell us all things. And Jesus said unto her, I speak unto thee, am he. He's telling her now who he is. And now she understands. And, of course, it's not just one group that's going to be saved. It's going to be everybody. It's going to be the Jews, the Gentiles, everybody from all over the earth. That is what he's come here to do. Not to condemn the world, but to save the world, which is just a wonderful miracle in itself. And upon this, Christ witnesses to the disciples. Verse 27, chapter four. And upon this came his disciples and marveled that he talked with the woman. Yet no man said, what seekest thou? Or why talkest thou with her? The woman then left her water pot and went her way into the city and saith to the men, come see a man which told me all things that I ever did. Is not this the Christ? He knew everything about her. How she was married five times before. Then they went out of the city and came unto him. And in the meanwhile, his disciples prayed to him, saying, master, eat. But he said unto him, I have meat to eat that ye not know of. Therefore said the disciples, one to another, have any man brought him out to eat? And Jesus said to him, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work. Say not ye. There are yet four months, and then comest harvest. Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes. Look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest. And he that reapeth receiveth wages and gathereth the fruit unto eternal life. Eternal. And that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together. And herein. Is that saying true? One soweth and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that whereon ye bestowed no labor, other men labored, and ye are entered into their labors. God is teaching the disciples, I want you to go on out and sow. I want you to be fishers of men. I want you to go on out there and spread the truth. And by doing this, we will reap the world. Look at it. The harvest is big. Now we have to go sow it. Now we have to go reap it now. Here we go. Christ, witnesses to the Sumerians and many of the Samaritans. That came, many of the Samaritans of that city believed on him. For the saying of the woman which testifyeth, he told me all I ever did. So when the Samaritans were to come unto him, they besought him that he would tarry with them. And he abode there two days. And many more believed because of his own word. And said unto the woman, now, we believe not because of thy saying. For we have heard him ourselves. And know that this is indeed the Christ, the savior of the world. Again, the savior of the world. They recognize him. They know it. So Christ is received by the Galileans. Here we go. Verse. Verse 43. Now. Now after two days, he departed thence and went into Galilee. For Jesus himself testified that a prophet hath no honor in his own country. Then when he was to come into Galilee, the Galileans received him, having seen all the things that he did at Jerusalem at the feast. For they also went unto the feast. The interesting part is, you notice that God said. For Jesus himself testified that a prophet have no honor in his own country. Here he is the king of the Jews, and he goes into his own country. And they won't believe him. The Pharisees, they're afraid of him. We could tell right now. Even before even getting in farther into the Bible, we could tell they are afraid of him. He's going to take our power. How can we even compete with the miracles that he does or anything else? You can't. So that's why they're afraid of him. So Christ heals the nobleman's son, verse 46. So Jesus came again into Cana of Galilee. Where he made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Copernicum. And when he heard that Jesus was come out of the Judea into Galilee, he went unto him and besought him that he would come down and heal his son. For he was at the point of death. Then said Jesus unto him, except ye see signs and wonders, ye will not believe. The nobleman said unto him, sir, come down here, my child, to die. Jesus said unto him, go thy way. Thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken him to him. And he went his way. And he was now going down. His servants met him, and he told them, saying, thy son liveth. Then inquired he of them the hour when he began to heal. And they said unto him, yesterday at the 7th hour of the fever left him. So that the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, thy son liveth and himself believed, and his whole house. This is again the second miracle that Jesus did when he came out of Judea into Galilee. We know of the miracles that Christ is doing at the wedding, turning the water into wine. The nobleman's son, right here healing him. Now we're going to move on. Chapter five. John, page 1185. After this, there was a feast of the Jews, and jesus went up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem, by the sheep market, a pool, and which is called in the hebrew tongue, Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water. Whoever then first, after the troubling of the water stepped in, was made whole of whatever disease he had. And there was a certain man there which had an infirmity. 38 years. When Jesus saw him lie and knew that he had been now a long time. In that case, he said unto him, wilt thou be made whole? And the impotent man answered him, sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me in the pool. But while I'm coming, another stepped down before me. And Jesus said to him, rise, take up thy bed and walk. And immediately the man was made whole and took up his bed and walked on the same day was the Sabbath. Now, you could see that that could cause a lot of problems between the Pharisees, because he is healing on the Sabbath. And this is supposed to be a day of rest. This is supposed to be a day where there's no work done. So you can see the dilemma that it's going to cause and the problems that it's going to cause now. It's not going to cause it for Jesus at this point, because we already understand that Jesus is sent from God. So Christ breaks the Sabbath. The Jews therefore said unto him, that was cured. It is the Sabbath day. It is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. And he answered them, he that made me whole the same said unto me, take up thy bed and walk. And then they asked him, what man is that which said unto thee, take up thy bed and walk? And when he was healed, wast not who it was. For Jesus had conveyed himself away a multitude in a multitude being in that place. Afterward, Jesus binded him in the temple and said to him, behold, thou are made whole. Sin no more, least a worse thing come unto thee. The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus which had made him whole. And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus and sought to slay him because he had done these things on the Sabbath day. See, they were worried. He's healing people. And they missed the boat because they missed a bunch of things. First of all, Christ did all these things out of love. He did all these things to save us. And because of their greed, because of their blindness, and they could not hear, they could not perceive. Now they're jealous of him because he's taking away their power, and they don't even realize it. But Jesus. But Jesus answered them, my father worketh hereto, and I work. Therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the Sabbath, but he said that God was his father, making himself equal with God. Then answered Jesus and said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself but what he seeth the father do. For what things soever he doth. These also doeth the son likewise for the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doth. And he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. For the father raises up the dead and quicken them. And even so, the son quicketh whom he will. For the father judges no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son. That all men should honor the son, even as they honor the Father. He that honoreth not the son honoreth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word and believeth on him that sent me hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed away from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, the hour is coming. And now is when the dead shall hear the voice of the son of God, and they shall hear that. Or that here shall live. For the father hath life in himself, hath given to the son to have life in himself, and hath given him the authority to execute judgment also because he is the son of man. Marvel not at this. For the hour is coming, in which all that are in all the graves shall hear his voice and shall come forth, that they shall have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil unto the resurrection of damnation. I can my own self do nothing. As I hear, I judge. And my judgment is just because I seek not my own will, but the will of the father which hath sent me. Now he's laying it on the line for him. Understand, this is how it is. God has given me the power that he has. I am down here in the flesh, right before you, right in your eyes. Whatever my father does, he has given me the power to do. He's telling them ahead of time, I can beat death. I can do many more things, many more miracles and many more things than what you can understand. Excuse. So here we go. Witnesses of the works of Christ, verse 36. We're still in chapter five. But I have a greater witness than that of John. For the works which the Father hath given me. To finish the same works that I do. Bear witness of me that the father hath sent me. And the father himself which has sent me hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time nor seen his shape. Ye have not his word abiding in you for whom he hath sent him. Ye believe not search the scriptures, for in them they think ye have eternal life. And they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me that ye might have life. I receive not honor from men, but I know you that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my father's name, and ye have received me not. If another shall come in his own name, ye will receive him. How can ye believe, which receive honor, one of another, and seek not the honor that cometh from God only? Do you not think that I will accurse you to the father? That there is one that accurseth you, even Moses, in whom you trust? For you had believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for he wrote of me. But if you believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? And he makes a good point. I'm right here in front of you. If somebody else came and said that they were the son of God, you believe him. I'm right here. God sent me. I am showing you the miracles, the things that he can do. And you're not believing it, but you'll believe all the scriptures. Moses. Moses wrote it. He talked about me. All through the Old Testament, they were talking about Christ, what was going to happen before it happened. And now, right in front of them, they missed the boat. So here we go. Now we're going to get into some of the really, really. Not that any miracle wasn't cool, but this I love. As you go on, you could see how much more just incredible miracles that we've already seen through the entire Bible, the Old Testament. And here we are. Now we're seeing even just greater and greater miracles all the time. After these things, Jesus went over to the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberis. And a great multitude followed him because they saw his miracles in which he had of them which were diseased. And jesus went up into a mountain and he sat there with his disciples. And the Passover a feast of the Jews was near. When Jesus then lifted up his eyes and saw a great company come unto him. He said unto Philips, when shall we buy bread that these may eat? And he said to prove him, for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered, 200 Pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said unto him, there is a lad here which have five barley loaves and two small fishes, but what are they among so many? And Jesus said, make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place, so the men sat down in the number of about 5000. And Jesus took to the two lows. And when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples and the disciples to them that were set down, and likewise of the fishes as much as they would when they were filled, he said unto his disciples, gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which remained over and above them that had eaten. And those men, when they had seen the miracle that jesus did, said, this is of a truth that the prophet should come into this world. When therefore Jesus perceived that they would come and take him by force to make him a king, he departed again into the mountain himself alone. See, God didn't want any of that. That's not what he wanted. Christ didn't want know when he perceived that they're going to sit here and make him a king. He was already the king of the Jews. He was God's son. If he wanted something like that, he could add it. He didn't want praise and glory. He wanted God to have that. And he certainly wasn't looking to become what they wanted. What he wanted is he wants to save their souls. He wants them to repent. God does not want to lose anybody. Nobody. But it's going to happen and we know it's going to happen. And when even was now come, his disciples went down to the sea and entered into a ship and went over the sea toward Copernicum. And it was now dark and jesus was not come to them. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and 20 or 30 furlengths they see Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near unto the ship. And they were afraid. But he said to them, it is I, be not afraid. And then they willingly received him unto the ship. And immediately the ship was at the land. Whether they went the day following. When the people which stood on the other side of the sea. Saw that there was none other boat there. Save the one wherein to his disciples were entered. And that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat. But his disciples were gone away alone. How be it? There came other boats from Tiberius near unto the place that they did eat bread. After that the Lord had given thanks. When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping and came to pernicum seeking jesus. And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, rabbi, when camest thou hither? And Jesus said to them, and Jesus answered them and said, verily, verily, I say unto you, ye seek me not because ye saw miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled labor not for the meat which perish, but for the meat which endureth unto everlasting life. Which the son of man shall give unto you. For him that hath God the Father sealed. Don't worry about the miracles. I am giving you the truth, the word. I'm giving you everlasting life. Listen to me. Then they said to him, what shall we do that may work for the works of God? And Jesus answered to them and said, this is the work of God that you believe on him whom he has sent. Believe on me. They said therefore unto him, what sign showst thou then that we may see and believe thee? What dost thou work? Our fathers did eat manna in the desert. As it is written. He gave them bread from heaven to eat. And Jesus said unto them, verily, verily, I say unto you, moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world. Then they said unto him, Lord, evermore, give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger. He that believeth on me shall never thirst. But I said unto you, you must also have seen me, and believeth not. All that the Father giveth me shall come to me. And him that cometh to me I will make in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the father's will which hath sent me. That of all which hath given me. I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again on the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me. That everyone which seeth the son and believeth on him may have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day. And the Jews murmured and then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, is it not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother were known? How is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, murmur not among yourselves. No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me. Draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God, every man. Therefore that hath heard and hath learned of the Father cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, and he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me have everlasting life. I am the bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven that a man may eat of and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. Now, you can only imagine what they were thinking. As he's saying, I'm the bread you got to eat for me. You got to eat of me. And what they're not understanding is what he's telling is, I'm the word that, yes, my father gave them manna in the desert, but all those people are dead. What I'm giving you is eternal life. The word, the truth I'm giving myself. I am sacrificing myself so that you will never die. You might die in the flesh, but you're going to live past that. And they're not understanding what he is telling them. The Jews therefore, strove among themselves, saying, how can this man give us his flesh to eat? See, they're not putting it together. They're not putting it together. And Jesus said to him, verily, verily, I say unto you, except you, eat of the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you, whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood have eternal life. And I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. For he that eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living father hath sent me, and I live by the father, so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not, as your fathers did eat manna and are dead. He that eateth of this bread shall live forever. These things said he in the synagogue, not as he taught in Copernicum. Many, therefore, of his disciples, when they heard this, said, this is a hard saying. Who can hear? And Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured it. And he said unto him, does this offend you? What? And if you shall see the Son of man, ascend up where he was before, it is the spirit that quickeneth. The flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are the spirit, and they are life. He's telling them, I'm giving you the truth. That is the bread. This is the blood, my flesh that I am going to sacrifice. That's my body. Here you are. If you're hearing me and you're listening to my words, and I'm telling you what's going to happen, and you believe on it, I'm in you. You're in me. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not and who should betray him. And he said, therefore I said unto you that no man could come unto me except it were given unto him of my father. Now, like I said, the Bible is always open to interpretation. God's choice. God already knows. God is choosing. From that time, many of his disciples went back and walked. No more with him. They said, nope, this is too much for us. I'm done. I'll take the worldly things here rather than believe this. I mean, I can't go with this, because this is one of the reasons why everything is written in parables. One of the things that it is, it is so that those who are going to believe are going to examine, they're going to reprove, they're going to be accepted, they're going to learn, see it, believe it, understand it, and hear it, the truth. And then those, they can look at this all day long, and they're never going to get it. They're never going to understand it. Then said Jesus unto the twelve will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the son of the living God. And Jesus answered them, have not I chosen you twelve? And one of you is a devil. And he spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. For it was that he should betray him, being one of the twelve. It's fascinating how all these things are going on. And the more and more that you read the Bible, and the more that you pray to God for understanding, the more that you ask God for understanding and to give you. And of course, going to church, talking to a rabbi, talking to a pastor, talking to a preacher, a bishop, a pope. They have so much knowledge. We're just reading here together. I'm none of those things. I'm way below them. But I love reading it and I love sharing it. And I'm just telling you, the more and more that you go over it and over it and over it again, the more that you will enjoy it. It will bring a peace to you, and it certainly helps you, gives you a little bit of clarity and helps you along the way. Christ's brothers do not believe. After these things, Jesus walked into Galilee, for he would not walk in jewelry, because the Jews sought to kill him. Now the Jews'feast of the tabernacles was at hand. His brethren therefore said unto him, depart hence and go into Judea. That the disciples may also see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth anything in secret. And he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest things, show thyself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him. Then Jesus said to him, my time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but me it hateth, because I testify of it that the works thereof are evil. Go ye up unto this feast. I will not go up yet unto this feast, for my time is not yet full. Come. And when he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. But when his brethren were gone up, and they went up also unto the feast, not openly, but as if it were secret. Then the Jews sought him at the feast and said, where is he? And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him. For some said, he is a good man. Others say, nay, but he deceiveth the people. How be it no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews? Now, about the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught. And the Jews marveled, saying, how knoweth this man letters? Having never learned, Jesus answered him and said, my doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh not his own glory, but he that seeketh his glory that send him. The same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? And the people answered and said, thou hast the devil and goeth about to kill thee. And Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave you unto circumcision, not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers and ye, on the Sabbath day, circumcised. Man, if a man on the Sabbath day receives circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken. Are you angry at me because I have made a man every wit whole on the Sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearances, but Judge righteous judgment. He's telling him, listen, I cured over here at the pool. I cured him. And you're judging me for that now, Moses gives you a commandment, and it's the law. I am the son of God, and I have done this and healed somebody, and you're not judging me righteously. This is about where we're going to stop here. And it's going to be right here at Christ's origin from the father. And I'm going to put a little mark in there so that we can get to that this next Sunday. So we're going to put 1211. And we've saw a lot. I mean, Christ has come down. He's basically told them, listen, I'm God's son. I am here not to condemn the world. I am here to save it, to give everyone. I want to save everyone. Not just some people, but everyone. And no one's believing him. And he's doing these wonderful miracles. He's feeding, he's healing. He's done everything that God has requested him to do. He's not down here to get his own glory. He's giving God glory. He's giving the father glory. He is in the flesh for a reason. He is going through everything that you and I would go through. He's tempted, he's hungered. He's felt pain. He is sadness, happiness, joyfulness. I mean, he is going through every single thing that all of us went through. Nothing is being left out. Heartache, heartbreak, everything. He's went through it all. And they're still not believing it is him. And they're not believing that he's there right in front of them. And yet they're going to believe what is written in the scriptures that Moses has written. And here he is right in front of them. And this is why I say they missed the boat. They missed the most important time in history, and now we'll have to wait to the second coming. Anyways, folks, I hope that you enjoyed that. And as always, I would love to hear from you, and I hope that some of you would call in. There's so many different things going on. We're so near Christmas, so many people are hurting out there, and nobody understands. And everybody takes for granted all the good things that God has given you. Imagine what it's like to be homeless out there, not have a roof over your head, getting down to 36, 35 degrees tonight. And it is rained. It's a cold, freezing rain. These people don't have any clothes. Their clothes are shredded and torn. They have no food. Sometimes they're fighting amongst themselves to look for shelter. They're looking for anywhere that they can go underneath trees and everything else. They're hungry. And I don't know how joyous they are going through all the troubles that they went through. Some have addiction problems, some are having other problems. Whatever happened, whatever got broken along the way in life, then what do they have to deal with during the day? People are like, get out of here, you bum. Get out of here. Crazy person, or whatever else, and they're pushing them aside like they're nothing, that they're less than nothing. But what you don't understand is they have the same heart, lungs, they have the same organs, blood, everything. They are our brothers and sisters. They are. And if we don't take care of them, if we don't help them out, we're not just keeping extra money in our pockets and stuff. We are killing a little piece of us. That's what we're doing. Because if we're not taking care of them, we're attacking God. That's attacking us. God is in us. We are in God. And if we're not going to respect him and love our neighbors as we love ourselves, then we violated his commandments anyway. So I ask you to reach on out, give to the homeless shelters. If you got clothes to donate sweatshirts and stuff like that, give to goodwill and to other places. So that they may be taken care of. Okay. Make sure that you're donating as much as you can. Old shoes, whatever. Those things are brand new to some people. I mean, give to the food drives, help out your fellow man. This world wants to keep you involved in war. They want to keep you involved in all these evil things. And we've got to move on and be higher in the thought process, spiritual and understand that we have a duty, we have a responsibility. So if you can meet that responsibility, food drives, missions, different things that we can do to help out our fellow brothers and sisters, man, make sure that you do that and take that into consideration before you shoe them away from businesses and everything else. Understand they are struggling. We have to do better net we have to do better and we don't have to do it just because of them. We have to do better because of us. That's where we run short and we hurt ourselves by not doing the right thing. So be good to one another. Put God first. In Columbia, South Carolina, I could tell you Oliver gospel mission would be a place that I would tell you to go to. Local churches have gift boxes and stuff to give children all over the world some gifts that wouldn't have Christmas that don't understand and are trying to be taught Christ for the first time in their lives. There are toys for tots and different things that can go to families directly so that you know they're getting 100% of the donation. Look into them. Give what you can. That's what Christmas is all about. It's not about what you're going to get. It's about being joyous because of what you already have and what you're going to give. That's the biggest thing. Keep God first. And anyway we will catch you next Sunday. God bless you all. I thank you for tuning in to life. Walk with Christ, God. And we're just moving right along through John. So we're going to keep going and I'm looking forward to it and we'll see you next week. [01:00:13] Speaker A: You are the way when there seems to be no way. We trust in you, God.
