[00:00:01] Sa. [00:00:31] All right. Good evening, everyone. Welcome to life walk with Christ God. And we're going to get right back into where we left off last time. And we are on page 56, we are on Genesis 42, chapter 42. So let's get right to it. [00:00:50] And we already know with Joseph the different things that are going on, what he's went through, how he's been restored from everything that happened to him. He has the signet ring now. He is second in charge, of course, and his father Jacob Esau saw that there was. And we're going to get right into reading this. The famine is going on and this was the seven good years, the seven bad years Joseph stored up. [00:01:21] And that's how he. He was given the number two, was given the signet ring, you know, by the Pharaoh. And here we go. So now we're, we're into this. So let's get to reading right away. [00:01:33] I told you this would be a very exciting, exciting book as we go through this, one of the many in, in the Bible. But this Genesis is just a wonderful, wonderful part of the Bible. And as we always talk about, you see the conflict and you see the reconciliation and we're really going to get over this as, as we go along. [00:01:58] So Joseph's brothers visit Egypt. [00:02:03] Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, why do you look upon one another? And he said, behold, I have heard there is corn in Egypt. Get you down thither and buy for us from hence that we may live and not die. And that's how bad the famine has been going on. So it's, it's incredible that the, you know, the things that we see today and everything else, this was, this was a bad, bad famine here. And Joseph's 10 brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt. But Benjamin, Joseph's brother Jacob sent not with his brethren, for he said least pre adventure mischief befall him. And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came. For the famine was in the land of Canaan. And Joseph was the governor over the land. And it was he, it was that sold to all the people of the land. And Joseph's brother came and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. When Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, he spoke roughly unto them. And he said unto them once, come ye. [00:03:18] And they said from the land of Canaan to buy food. And Joseph knew his brethren, but they knew him not, so they're not recognizing him and paying Attention to everything that is going, you know, going on there. And we know this, this was, this is one of the areas that we went through. And of course, now we are at this part. [00:03:46] And this is great because I, I do love this part. So here we go. [00:03:53] Joseph remembered the dreams in which he had dreamed. And he said unto them, year spies and see the nakedness of the land year come. And he said unto them, nay, my Lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. So they're pleading with him and, and of course, he's kind of. [00:04:12] If you remember at the beginning of this story that in. In this with his brothers, Joseph had visions. He had visions then. And we, we asked ourselves, was he trying to get his brother's goat? Because remember, his reed stood up and their reefs were bent over, bowed down to him. And they were like, what? You should rule over us? And of course, even Jacob took notice of this and rebuked Joseph. And, you know, but he took notice of it and it was very important at that time. So now here they are in trouble. They don't recognize their brother. They. They basically threw their butt, threw Joseph under the. The bus. And now you can, you can see the conflict here, but it's going to be very interesting, so let's journey onward. And Joseph remembered the dreams in which he had dreamed and said unto them, year spies and see the nakedness of the land year come. And they said to him, nay, my Lord, but to buy food are thy servants come. We are all one man's son. We are true men. Thy servants are no spies. And he said to them, nay, but to see the nakedness of the land ye are come. And they said, thy servants are 12 brethren and the sons of one man in the land of Canaan. And behold, the youngest is this day with our father, and one is not. So you can see here, they've revealed the. The brothers here have revealed he. At no time did Joseph ask them. They refill. They revealed the information to Joseph. So they don't even know who he is. They don't recognize him. So let's move on. And Joseph said it to him. It is that it that I spoke unto you, saying your spies, hereby shall ye be proved by the life of Pharaoh. You shall not go forth hence except your youngest brother come hither. So now that Joseph knows that Benjamin is alive, okay, he's. He's basically told them, no, you're going to have to prove this. And the only way to prove this is I want to see the younger brother. He wants to see Benjamin, send one of you and let him fetch your brother. And you shall be kept in prison that your words may be proved, whether ye be any truth in you or. Or else by the life of Pharaoh, sure, surely ye are spies. And he put them all together into ward for three days. [00:06:51] And Joseph said unto them, the third day, this do and live, for I fear God. If you be be true men, let one of your brethren be bound in the house of your prison. Go. Ye carry corn for the famine of your houses, but bring your youngest brother unto me so that so shall your words be verified and you shall not die. And they did so. So he's basically, he's kept one of them there and he's telling them, take the food that you need, take what you need. Because remember, nobody's buying anything without going through Joseph during the famine, because he's the one who stored up everything in the storehouses. He prepared for this well, so much so he couldn't even keep count of it. So here we go. [00:07:41] And they said to one another, we're. We are verily guilty concerning our brother, and that we saw the anguish of his soul. And when he besought us, we would not hear. Therefore this distress has come upon us. [00:07:57] So they're understanding now. They're going back in their mind saying, this is, this is what we're sowing for what we reaped with Joseph. And they're starting to understand what it's like to be in a very precarious spot. And this is why, therefore, this is the distress come upon us. And Reuben answered them, saying, spoke I not unto you, saying, do not sin against the child, and you. And you would not hear. Therefore, behold, also his blood is required. [00:08:35] And they, and they knew not that Joseph understood them, for he spoke to them by an interpreter. [00:08:45] But Joseph also knows Hebrew. He also knows, you know, he's, he's. [00:08:52] How do we say? He is what we call, well read and smart. He's, he's, he's brilliant. So everything that God has entrusted with him when he was in prison, he was entrusted by the prison guards. When he, when he was with Potiphar, he was entrusted with everything. And here he was with Pharaoh. Now he's entrusted again, storing up the grain, preparing for all this. And everything he is saying has come true. He has prospered through and through. And he's also extremely bright. [00:09:26] So, and he turned himself about from them and wept and returned to them again and communed with them. And it took from them Simeon and bound him before their eyes. [00:09:42] Then Joseph commanded to fill their sacks with corn and restore every man's money into his sack and to give them provisions for the way. And thus did he unto them. So now the money that they came to purchase the. The food during this famine is going to be put back into their sacks. And they don't know it yet. So imagine the fear that they're going to have when they find the money back in their sacks. And this is hurting Joseph. This is hurting him. But I'm sure it also hurt him to the point they didn't recognize him. Now, they know amongst themselves that this is coming about them for what they did to Joseph. Okay, but there's a humbling experience that's been going on to Joseph since. Well, he, you know, the Ishmaelites ended up selling him. So here we go. We're going to move on. And they laded their asses with the corn and depart and departed thence. [00:10:47] And as one of them opened his sack to give his ass provisions in the inn, he espied them his money, for behold, it was in his sack's mouth. And he said unto his brethren, my money is restored. And lo, it is even in my sack. And their heart failed them, and they were afraid, saying to one another, what is this that God hath done to us? [00:11:14] So they're all looking, what? Oh, man, this. This is not good. This is a bad situation. The money is restored. So we have this food. Now it looks like we stole it. Or. Or could they think something else? It's. It's a bad, bad look for all of them. And they came unto Jacob, their father, unto the land of Canaan. And he told them all that befell them, saying, the man who is the Lord of the land spoke roughly to us and took us for spies in the country. And when we said to him, we are true men, we are no spies. [00:11:51] We be 12 brethren, sons of our Father. One is not. And the youngest is this day with our father in the land of Canaan. And the man, the Lord of the country, said unto us, hereby shall I know that you are true men. Leave one of your brethren here with me and take food for the famine of your household and be gone so and bring your youngest brother unto me. Then I shall know you are no spies, but that ye, ye are true men. So I will deliver you your. Deliver you your brother, and you shall traffic in the land. [00:12:31] And it came to pass as they emptied their sacks that, behold, every man's bundle of money was in his sack. And when both they and their father Saw the bundles of money, they were afraid. And Jacob said to their father, me, have you bereaved of my children? Joseph is not, and Simeon is not. And ye will take Benjamin away. [00:12:56] All these things are against me. [00:12:59] So you have to look and, and you can go to some crop references here. Romans again. And like I said, there's, there's over 60, 000 cross references from the Old Testament to the New and the New Testament back to the Old. Absolutely wonderful. But if you want to look at it, you can just go on down to Romans 8, 28, 31 and look at some of these things and you'll start to see it. You'll start to see how this story puts itself together all the way from the very beginning, which is just absolutely wonderful. So let's get on to it. And here we are, chapter 42. And we are on verse 37. And Reuben spoke unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee, deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again. And he said, my son shall not go down with you, for his brother is dead and he is left alone. If mischief befall him by the way in which you go, then shall you bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. [00:14:13] Jacob Esau is telling them, I've lost Joseph. I. I cannot lose Benjamin here. And you know, if something happens to him with all of you going down there, taking the wrong way or anything else, and you have to remember, he's thinking in his mind too. He had to send Joseph after and make sure they were tending and doing things that they were supposed to do. And this all started because Joseph gave them a bad report for not doing what they were supposed to do the first time, which was causing the conflict. [00:14:51] So now here we go, Joseph's brother's second journey to Egypt. And again Reuben, by the way, who slept with the concubine, which was, that was trouble in itself, you know, he's telling them he's going to guarantee his safety and everything. So here we go. And the famine was sore in the land. Chapter 43. And it came to pass when they had eaten up the corn which they had bought out of Egypt, their father said to them, go again, buy us a little food. And Judas spoke to him, saying, the man did solemnly protest unto us, saying, you shall not see my face except your brother be with you. If thou will send your brother with us, we will go down and buy thee food. But if thou will not send him, we will not go down. For the man said, Unto us, you shall not see my face except your brother be with you. And Israel said, wherefore dealt ye so ill with me as to tell the man whether ye had a brother? [00:15:52] Now he's asking him, okay? He's asking him directly, what? [00:15:58] Why did you even tell him you had a brother? Why? [00:16:03] And they said, the man asked us straightly out of our state and of our kindred, saying, is your father yet alive? Have ye another brother? And we told them according to the tenor of these words. [00:16:15] Could we certainly know that he would say, bring your brother down? But that's not exactly true here, is it? Because we can go back. And we're at chapter 42, verse 13. And they said, thy servants are 12 brethren, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan. And behold, the youngest is this day with our Father, and one is not he. They offered that information. They weren't asked that information. After all, who could possibly ask something that they already don't know to begin with? So here we go. We're on verse eight now, chapter 43. [00:17:00] And we have been seeing deception all the way through, especially with. With Jacob, with Laban, with, you know, Rachel and Leah and Rachel doing to Laban. And it's just been incredible all the way through. So. And what's happened with Esau, you know, and how Rebecca did what she did with Isaac. So now you're. You're seeing everything kind of full circle here. And now here we are again. And Judah said unto Israel, his father, send the lab with me. And we will rise, we will arise and go, that we may live and not die, both we and thou. And also our little ones. I will be surety for him of my hand. Shall thou require him. If I bring him not unto thee and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame forever. [00:17:59] For except we had lingered, surely now we have returned the second time. And their father Israel said unto them, if it must be so, now do this. Take the best of fruits in the land in your vessels. Carry down the man a present, a little balm, a little honey, spices, myrrh, nuts and almonds, and take double the money in your hand and the money that was brought again in your mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your. In your hand. Pre adventure. It was an oversight also. Take your brother and arise. Go again unto the man. [00:18:43] And God Almighty give you mercy before the man that he may send away your older, your other brother, and Benjamin, if I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved. And the men took that Present. And they took double the money in their hand and Benjamin and rose up and went down to Egypt and stood before Joseph. [00:19:10] Now we know Jacob before he saw Esau. The next time, the last time that he saw Esau, understand, his mother said to him, go, go to my brother. And you know, over here, don't stop, don't come back until you get word from me, because your brother Esau wants to slay you. And what did he do? He, he wrestled in, not only with an angel all night, but he wrestled too consciously about the things that he did that was deceptive. I, I, I, you have to look at this as what do these things. Obviously, everything's not exactly as it says. There's, there's a theological aspect here. There is a wonderful looking at it, a wonderful way that they're interpreting this. And the Bible is open to a lot of interpretation. But the wrestling and everything is more than one way because he says, well, you know, I, I wrestled with God and I am still alive. Well, the angels are who he wrestled with the angel, but the angel was sent by God. So in his perspective, is that what he is talking about here? Or is he talking about wrestling with this in his mind? So now here he is again. And of course, when he just before he saw evil Esau and crossed the river, what did he do? He put the servants and everyone in front. Then he put Leah there. And then he kept Rachel behind so that somebody could escape if his brother's wrath was still there. And he offered a whole bunch of animals. And his brother said he came up and kissed him. [00:20:55] There was the reconciliation of that relationship. And he's like my brother, you know, I don't need this. [00:21:02] I am good. God has blessed me, has taken care of me. And he was happy. He's like, you know, I don't need this. And of course, Jacob talked him into Israel at that time, because the angel said, you're no longer Jacob, you are Israel. But he basically had said to him, you know, please take this. [00:21:22] And now he's doing the same thing with Joseph, except he doesn't know it's Joseph. Here, take some balm, take some myrrh, take some spices, take double the money, take your brother Benjamin, and may have mercy on your soul. May God be merciful in this. [00:21:41] And here we are. Now we're on verse 16. [00:21:44] And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, bring these men home and slay, and make ready, for these men shall dine with me at noon. So he's now preparing a meal. [00:22:02] And the man did as Joseph bade. And the man brought the men into Joseph's house. And the men were afraid because they had brought. Been brought into Joseph's house. And they said, because of the money that was returned in our sacks at the first time we are brought in that he may seek occasion against us and fall upon us and take us for bondmen and our asses. [00:22:32] They're expecting retribution here. And. And, you know, thinking, well, he thinks we stole the money. [00:22:40] And so. And it came near to the steward of Joseph's house, and they communed with him at the door of the house and said, oh, sir, we came indeed down at the first time to buy food. And it came to pass when we came to the inn that we opened our sacks and behold, every man's money was in the mouth of his sack and our money in full weight. And we have brought it again in our hand. The other money have we brought down in our hands to buy food. We cannot tell who put the money into our sacks. And he said, peace be to you. Fear not. Your God and the God of your father have given you treasure in your sacks. I had your money. [00:23:29] And he brought Simeon out unto them. So now they're probably really confused about what's going on. [00:23:37] This is a treasure to you. Why are we getting a treasure? [00:23:42] They've. They're thinking of everything that happened with Joseph. They're thinking, you know, Simeon's in prison here. Nothing good is coming out of this. And now all of a sudden you're telling me this is a treasure, you know, so and the man brought the men into Joseph's house, and he gave them water, and they washed their feet and gave the asses provisions provender. And they made ready the. The present against Joseph come at noon. For they heard they should eat bread there. When Joseph came home, they brought him the present which was in their hand to the house and bowed themselves to him to the earth. Now, so they're humbling themselves to him. And if you remember his dream, as we were just talking about and God, that's what got Joseph into trouble the first time, is he was telling them the dreams, hey, wait, I had a dream. Wait, I have another dream. So, of course, when he's going to check on him, because Jacob sent him off at that time, they. They saw him coming and they were like, ah, here comes the dreamer. And they were ready to slay him. And Reuben stood up and said, listen, don't do this. This is not good. And then they were like, yeah, you know what? Okay. It's not. Maybe we can. So they threw him into a cistern with no water, and of course he was found. And then he was sold. So then they panicked and they decided, okay, the. The coat of colors the father made for him, we're going to shred it, dip it in some goat's blood that they slaughtered. And the father will think that he was slayed by wild animals. [00:25:29] So when Joseph came home, he brought him the present which is in their. Their hand, into the house and bowed themselves before him. And he asked them of their welfare and said, is your father well? The old man of whom you spoke, is he yet alive? And they answered, thy servant, our father is in good health. [00:25:51] He is yet alive. And they bowed down their heads and made omniscience, acted with respect. [00:26:00] And he lifted up his eyes, and he saw his brother Benjamin, his mother's son. And it is said, is this your younger brother of whom you spoke unto me? And he said, God be gracious unto thee, my son. And Joseph made haste, for his bowels did not yearn upon. Upon his brother. And he sought where he could weep. And he entered into the chamber and wept there. So he sees his younger brother, and it has been a long time. And he cannot hold back his emotions, because remember, this was Rachel's child, their mother. So he washed his face, went out and refrained himself, and said, set on bread. [00:26:47] And they sat on for him by himself, and he for them by themselves, and for the Egyptians, which did not eat with him by themselves, because the Egyptians might not eat bread with the Hebrews, for that is an abomination unto the Egyptians. And they sat before him, the firstborn according to his birthright and the youngest according to his youth. And the men, the men marveled at one another. And he took and sent messages unto them before him. But Benjamin's mess was five times as much as theirs. And they drank and were merry with him. So what happened was he. They were feeding them food. Everything else they gave them a good, nice, healthy plate. But with Benjamin, he gave him five times more than the rest of his brethren. So Joseph was definitely taking care of his younger brother, and he's making sure everyone's having a good time. [00:27:48] Chapter 44. [00:27:50] And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, fill the men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth, and put my cup, the silver cup, in the sack's mouth of the youngest and his corn money. And he did According to the word that Joseph had spoken, as soon as the morning was light, the men were sent away. They and their asses. [00:28:15] And when they were gone out of the city, and not yet far off, Joseph said unto his steward, up, follow after, after the men. And when thou doest, overtake them, saying to them, wherefore have you rewarded evil for good? [00:28:34] Is not this in which my lord drinketh, whereby indeed he divineth ye have done evil in doing so. You've taken this cup. You. You've done this. And he overtook them, and he spoke unto them these same words. And they said, wherefore? Saith my lord, these words, God forbid that thy servants should do according to this thing. Behold, the money in which we found in our sacks mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan. [00:29:07] How then should we steal out of thy Lord's house a silver or gold with whomsoever of thy servants it be found, both let him die. And also we will be the Lord's bondmen. We'll be your slaves. [00:29:23] And he said, now also it be accordingly unto your words. He with whom it is found shall be my servant, and you shall be blameless. [00:29:33] And they speedily took down every man his sack to the ground and opened every man's sack and he searched, and he began at the eldest and left at the youngest. And the cup was found in Benjamin's sack. [00:29:46] Then they rent their clothes and laded every man his ass and returned to the city. And Judah, his brethren, came to Joseph's house, for he was yet there. And they fell before him on the ground. And Joseph said unto them, what deed is this that ye have done? Won't ye not that such a man as I certainly divine? [00:30:11] And he. He is. He is telling them, hey, listen, I don't know what you're doing, but why would you do this to me? [00:30:22] So here it is. It's in Benjamin's sack. [00:30:28] And. And of course they're freaking out now because of what Jacob has already told them. If anything happens to Benjamin, you. You will bring my gray hairs down to death. You will you. It's gonna kill me. [00:30:46] So as we go on. [00:30:49] And Judah came near him and said, oh, my Lord, let thy servant, I pray thee, speak a word in my Lord's ears. And let not thy anger burn against thy servant, for thou are even as Pharaoh. [00:31:03] Yeah, he's right there, number two. He's not wrong. He's even with Pharaoh. Remember, Pharaoh's left everything to Joseph to take care of. Everything except for the throne. That's it? But everything else, whatever Joseph is wanting or needs or does, it's his decision. And he, Pharaoh just says, take care of it. [00:31:27] And he's going about his day doing whatever he needs to do. But Joseph has it under control. [00:31:35] Ah, my Lord asked his servant, saying he have a father or a brother. And we sudden to my Lord, we have a father, an old man and a child of his old age, a little one. [00:31:53] And his brother is dead, and he is alone is left of his mother and his father loveth him. And thou settest unto my servants, bring him down unto me, that I may set my eyes upon him. And we said unto the Lord, unto my lord, the lad cannot leave his father, for if he should leave his father, his father would die. [00:32:19] And thou settest unto thy servants, except your youngest brother come down with you. You shall see my face no more. And it came to pass when we came upon unto thy servant my father, we told him the words of my lord. And our father said, go again and buy us a little food. And we said, we cannot go down if our youngest brother is not with us. Then we will. [00:32:43] Then we will go, go down. For we may not see the man's face except our youngest brother be with us. And thy servant my father said unto us, Ye know that my wife bear me two sons. [00:32:57] And the one went out from me. And I said, surely he is torn to pieces. And I saw him not since. And if you take this also from me and mischief befall him, you shall bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave. Now therefore, when I come to thy servant my father and the lad be not with us. Seeing that his life is bound up in the lad's life. It shall come to pass when he seeth that the lad is not with us and he will die. And thy servants shall bring down the gray hairs of thy servant our father with sorrow to the grave. For thy servant became surety for the lad unto my father, saying if I bring him not unto thee, that I shall bear the blame of my father forever. Now therefore, I pray thee, let the servant let thy servant abide instead of the lad a bondman to my Lord. And let the lad go up with his brethren. For how shall I go up to my father and the lad be not with me? [00:34:01] At least pre adventure I shall. [00:34:05] I see the evil that shall come unto my father. [00:34:09] So here he is. He. He is. Now he's making it very clear. Judy's making it clear. Listen. [00:34:15] I can't go back there without him. Something bad, my Lord is going to happen. He's pleading. [00:34:22] He's basically saying, let's take me. I. [00:34:26] I will be your bondman. I will be your slave. I have no problem doing that, but please let him go. [00:34:35] Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all of them and that stood by him. And he cried, because every man to go out for me. And there stood no man with him. While Joseph made himself known unto his brethren, and he wept aloud. And the Egyptians in the house of Pharaoh heard. And Joseph said unto his brother, I am Joseph, doeth my father, yet live. And his brethren could not answer him, for they were troubled at his presence. [00:35:06] Sure they were. [00:35:08] They didn't know what happened to him. He was out of the cistern. He was gone. So they had no idea of what happened. They planned to sell them, but that didn't work out that right that way. So. [00:35:23] So now all of a sudden, they're stupefied. They're looking at their brother and he's telling them, I'm her brother. And they're like, what? [00:35:38] And probably scared to death, but at the same time relieved. And here comes the reconciliation part. [00:35:47] And Joseph is. He's weeping. He's crying because he loves his brothers. [00:35:54] And they're being truthful from this point, they're very humbled. Very humbled at this point. They're scared. [00:36:04] And Joseph said unto his brother, come near me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph, your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore, be not grieved nor angry with yourselves that you sold me thither. For God did not send me before you to preserve life. [00:36:25] Sent. He sent me before you to preserve life. So even though they sold. And then the Ishmaelites and everyone else got. Got money also, they sold Potiphar. So here's the thing. [00:36:37] They didn't know what happened to him. They had no clue what happened to him. Remember, it's taken out of the cistern. Gone. That was it. Sold. So. [00:36:47] And of course they plotted to kill him originally. But they said, hey, we can make a little money here. [00:36:52] So ultimate betrayal and ultimate conflict for these two. For these two years hath the famine been in the land. And yet there are five years in which there shall be neither be earning nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you in prosperity in the earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God. And hath made me a father to Pharaoh and the Lord of all his house and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt. Hasty. And go up to my father and say unto him, thus saith thy son Joseph. God hath made me lord of all Egypt. Come down unto me and tarry not. Don't waste any time. And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen. And there and. And thou shalt be near me. And thou and thy children, and thy children's children, and thy flocks and thy herds, and all that thou hast, and there I will nourish thee. [00:38:01] For yet there are five years of famine least thou and thy household and all that thou hast come into poverty. And behold, your eyes, see the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaketh unto you. And you shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that you have seen. And you shall haste. You. You shall haste and bring my. And bring down my father hither. So he's telling them, go back, get Esau. [00:38:34] Get everything that you have and come, because you're going to the land of Goshen, and. And that's where I'm going to put you. And you're going to be close to me, and I'm going to make sure that you're taken care of. [00:38:48] And he fell upon his brother, his brother Benjamin's neck, and wept. And Benjamin wept upon his neck. Moreover, he kissed all his brethren and wept among them. And after all his brethren talked with him. [00:39:02] The fame, therefore, was heard in Pharaoh's house, saying, joseph's brethren are come. And it pleased Pharaoh well and his servants. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, saying to thy brethren, do this, do ye laid your breast, and go and get unto the land of Canaan, and take your father and your households and come unto me, and I will give you the good land of. Of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land. Now thou art commanded this. Do ye take your wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and your wives, and bring your father and come also, regard not your stuff for the good of all. The land of Egypt is yours, and the children of Israel did so. And Joseph gave them wagons according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the way. To all of them he gave each man changes of raiment, but to Benjamin he gave 300 pieces of silver and five changes of raiment. And to his father he sent after this manner 10 asses laden with the good things of Egypt, and 10 she asses laden with corn and bread and meat for his father, by the way, so he's loaded him up, he's honoring his father. So he said to his brethren, away. And they departed. And he said unto them, see that you fall, not out, by the way. Don't. Don't lose where you're, what you're supposed to do here. Don't tarry, don't. [00:40:38] Don't get distracted. [00:40:40] Go do what you're supposed to do and come back. [00:40:45] And they went up out of Egypt, came into the land of Cayman unto Jacob their father, and told them, saying, joseph is yet alive, and he is the governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not. [00:40:59] And they told him all the words of Joseph and which he had said to them. And when he saw that the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father revived, his confidence was restored in this thing. And if you take a look, you could see Luke 24:11 and 41. Go in there and you will see. You know exactly how this ties in, and it's absolutely wonderful. And Israel said, it is enough, Joseph, my son is yet alive, and I will go see him before I die. [00:41:37] So he's excited and to go through everything that he went through. And you notice that they're still calling him Jacob, but his name was changed when he wrestled all night with the angel. [00:41:52] And he said, you are no more Jacob. You are Israel. So it's, it's now getting to this point of, okay, they're going to go back, collect everything that they have. They're going to come back to Egypt. And Pharaoh's the one who commanded this too. Understand that everything that Joseph has done, Pharaoh has seen that him following God has brought good fortune upon him. [00:42:25] And we're going to find out exactly how good that portion is. But here we go. We're going to get into chapter 46. We're going to stop at 47, but let's go through and go to 46. [00:42:39] And Israel took his journey with all that he had and came to Beersheba and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. [00:42:49] And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night and said, jacob, Jacob. And he said, hanini, remember, here I am so. [00:43:00] And he said, I am God, the God of thy father. Fear not to go down into Egypt, for there I will make thee a great nation. I will go down with thee into Egypt, and I will also surely bring thee up again. And Joseph shall put his hand upon thy eyes. And Jacob rose and up from Beersheba, and thy sons of Israel carried Jacob, their father, and their little ones and their wives in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. And they took their cattle and all their in their goods which they had gotten in the land of Canaan. And they came into Egypt, Jacob and all his seed with him, his sons, his son's sons with him, his daughters and his son's daughters and all his seed brought he with them into Egypt. [00:43:57] And these are the names of the children of Israel which came into Egypt. Jacob his sons Reuben, Jacob's firstborn and the sons of Reuben, Hanak and Falu, Hezron and Carmi and the sons of Simeon, Jamal and Jamin and Hohad and Jason and Zohar and Shula the sons of the Cana Tish woman and the sons of Levi, Gomer and Koh and yeah, Koeth and Marai and the sons of Judah, Er and Onan and Sheila and Pharez and Zara and Er and Omen died in the land of Cayman. And the sons of Pharez were Hezron and Hamu, and the sons of Issachar, Tola and Fua, and the sons of Shimron and the sons of Zebulon, Sared and Elon and Jalil, Jelly Hill and the sons of Leah, which she which she bore unto Jacob in Pandoram with his daughter Dinah and all the sons and the daughters were 30 and three and the sons of Gad, Ziphion and Haggi and Sunai and Ezra and Erik and Ardnai and Arilai and the sons of Asher, Gymna, Ishua and Izuai, and Bara and Sarah, the sister and the sons of Bear, Heber and Machiel. [00:45:54] These are the sons of Zephrah, whom Laban gave Talia his daughter and these she bore unto Jacob even 16 souls. The sons of Rachel, Jacob's wife, Joseph and Benjamin. And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, which Asnath and the daughter of Potiphar and and the priest and of all bear unto him. And the sons of Benjamin were beheld and and better and Ashbo, Gara, Naaman, Ehi and Rosh, Muppin and Hoppin, and Ard and these are the sons of Rachel which were born to Jacob. All the souls were 14. [00:46:49] And the sons of Dan, Hersham, and the sons of Naphtali, Jezrel and Gunai, and Jezer and Shilom. And these are the sons of Billa which Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter and she bore these unto Jacob. All the souls were seven and all the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, which came out of his sons besides Jacob's son's wives. All the souls were 30. [00:47:19] I'm sorry. Three score and six. And the sons of Joseph which were born him in Egypt were two souls. All the souls of the house of Jacob which came unto Egypt were three score and ten. And he sent Judah before him unto Jacob, or unto Joseph, to direct the face unto Goshen. And they came into the land of Goshen. And Joseph made ready his chariot and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen and presented himself unto him. And he fell on his neck, and he wept, and. And on his neck a good while. [00:47:56] And Israel said unto Joseph, now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou are yet alive. And Joseph said unto his brother and unto his. His father's house, I will go up and show Pharaoh and say unto him, my brethren in my father's house which were in the land of Canaan are come unto me. And the men are shepherds, for their trade has been to feed cattle, and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have. And it shall come to pass when Pharaoh shall call you and shall say, what is your occupation? That ye shall say, thy servants. Trade hath been about cattle from your youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers, that we may dwell in the land of Goshen, for every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians. [00:48:49] So the Egyptians are very powerful people, and you'll notice that they call them the Hebrews or whatever instead of the Israelites. And. And we're going to see this more and more because it's. It's kind of a while. It's true and everything, but as we move on and we start to get to Exodus later, you're going to kind of see that it's a derogatory type reference instead of being called Israelites. So it's just something I want to touch on now that you could kind of see it's going to cause this conflict again. So. But let's. Let's get on to this, because now we're. We're seeing the reconciliation here. We're seeing all the things that happened and how it's so amazing that now, again, with God's grace and God's mercy and everything else, there's. There's reconciliation here. And think about this. With his brethren and everything. He's not mad at anybody. [00:49:49] He understands through the humility that he went through God's timing, God's perfect plan, that he needed to be humbled. So when we look back when he was telling them about the dream, how he saw them and they were going to be bowing down to him, was he getting their goat? And we were asking that question, yeah, probably a little bit, you know, but at the same time, humility that he learned being in prison, being accused of something he didn't do, and everything else made him better. It it to a fixture of. When he sees his brother and his brethren, he's like, you know, he's not worried about any of that anymore. He's not holding it over their heads. [00:50:44] So now we're on chapter 47. And of course we have, we have about eight minutes left and we're going to get into now how Pharaoh is, is looking at all this. And this Pharaoh was fantastic. [00:51:00] I mean, absolutely wonderful. So he has taken Joseph on, he has basically guided him here. And he says, listen, you're in charge. I want you running this. You're the smartest one. You can interpret the dreams and everything. He says, I can't interpret dreams. Only God does that. But God showed him what that was. So that's how he became number two. [00:51:27] And we already know what happened to the baker and, and to the, you know, the servant, the, you know, the cup bearer and everything. So one of them was going to get impaled at the pole or hung, and the other one was going to be restored back to his position and they forgot about Joseph. And of course, everything came true. And guess what? Baker was hanged, they say another part impaled or whatever. And here we go, the cup bearer part. He was restored to his position. So everything that Joseph has a vision of has come true, true to form. [00:52:08] And God has this wonderful way of putting this puzzle together. And it's an absolutely great story. [00:52:15] I love it. And it's, it's. If you pay attention to it, it has every. Anything that you could want in a story, except there's one big difference. This one's true. [00:52:28] That's why I said this is the greatest love story that there is. And it's full of conflict. It's, it's full of, you know, man just deceiving man and, and different things going on. But then where there's conflict, it's always reconciliation. And God. You could see God's movements on how this works and why it works and, and just proves itself over and over and over again. And like I said, the cross references, even though I don't go into those too deep, we could point them out. That's why I always give you page numbers. Or what book and everything else. But it absolutely wonderful. And try to try to remember too, the Bible is open to interpretation. I'm not a priest. I'm not a deacon. I'm not a pastor, I'm not a bishop, I'm not clergy, I'm not a rabbi. I'm. I'm nobody. I'm just a guy that loves the King James Bible and I love so much. So I just, I wanted to share it and enjoy it with you to the glory of God and, and that's what we're supposed to do. [00:53:33] So I will always enjoy doing that. And I hope that, you know, I, I give you some kind of peace or whatever to God's glory and, and I hope so. But I hope this week that you have a wonderful week. Be kind to one another. Love one another in this world. Today it is. You know, there's so many things that makes me so very, very sad to see some of the things that we see in this world and we just have to rise above that. [00:54:05] Rising above it and stepping away from some of the evils that we have in this world. [00:54:13] I saw it. [00:54:14] Put the best way that I saw it is every time that we avoid evil, every time that we avoid being, you know, falling to temptation or something like that, the angels shout for joy. So imagine that every time that you're successful in doing that, they're shouting for joy of you in heaven because that's how much God loves you and how much grace he gives us. So we're going to come back next week and we're on chapter 47, page 61, King James Bible. And we're in the book of Genesis, Genesis 47. So let me write this down right now. [00:55:01] And this is going to be this time of season. Now everyone seems to be more and more in tune with Christmas and everything like that. I want to remind everyone, every single day in your life is Christmas Day the second that Christ came here. You don't love him more one day than another day. And you have to love him the same way and tell him you love him. Tell God you love him. Okay. You know, it's important because he gives us everything. Anything that we have is coming from Him. He knows what we need. He knows what we, we have need of. So I'm just going to tell you. [00:55:53] Enjoy. Okay? God bless. I'll catch you guys next week. And you know, we got some exciting family stuff coming up. [00:56:02] Take time for your family. [00:56:05] Take that time. [00:56:08] Like I said, the Bible is full of conflict, reconciliation, but it always ends up love wins at the end. So take time out of your. Your day and spend time with your family. Spend time with your friends. Okay? With your loved ones. And do that and tell you what, you can't go wrong. God bless you all. Take care.
