[00:00:31] Speaker A: Hey, guys, welcome to life. Walk with Christ. God. Guess what? We are in. We are on. Well, page 69, King James Bible. We are on chapter one of Exodus. We had just finished up Genesis, Joseph and everything that happened. And I'll tell you what, this is so much fun getting into this. And guess what? We're through. Probably the biggest part here of what we wanted to get to the very beginning of the Bible. And it's wonderful.
So let's get on into it.
Israel's rapid multiplication. Now, these are the names of the children of Israel which came into Egypt. Every man in his household came with Jacob. And do try to remember. I know I have such a hard time saying the names that are biblically in the Bible. They're so difficult for me. I'm not a clergy. I'm not a priest, not a rabbi, not. I'm nobody. No, you know, not a deacon, nothing. I'm just a guy that loves to read the Bible with you. We're getting right on Christmas time and just a magical time of year. And I love it. So Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah, Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin, Dan and Naftali, Gad and Asher. And these are also the 12 tribes that we are seeing. So you're. You're going to see how this kind of all aligns here with all the different names of the children and everything else from Jacob, be it from Rachel, Leah, Zilla, or Bella. And it's.
It's just amazing. So let's get on. And Joseph died, and all his brethren and all that generation and the children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly and multiplied and waxed exceedingly mighty, and the land was filled with them.
Now there rose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And this is kind of the sad part, because this new king didn't know Joseph, didn't know all the good things that Joseph had done.
It just basically blew off anything that was good that happened. And. And now we're getting into it.
He said to his people, behold the pill. The people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we. Come on, let us deal wisely with them. Least they multiply. And it come to pass that when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies and fight against us. And so get them up out of the land. Therefore they did set over them task masters to afflict them with burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pitham and Ramses.
But the more they afflicted them, the more that they multiplied and grew and they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor. So they created a lot of hardship form, basically enslave them and everything else. And if you remember, God had already told Abraham and Isaac prior to Jacob, that you're going to be. You're going to multiply as the stars and the sand of the seashore. So this is happening now. So even though they're being afflicted and they're being harassed, put into slavery by Ramses, you can see that they're still multiplying. They're still becoming very, very abundant.
And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor. And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage in. In mortar and in brick and in the manner of service in the field. All their service wherein they made them serve was with rigor. They pushed them hard.
And the king of Egypt spoke unto the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of one was Cipra and the name of the other Pua. And he said, when do ye, when you do the office of a midwife to a Hebrew women and see them upon their stools? If it be a son, you shall kill him. If it be a daughter, then shall. Then shall she live. But the midwives feared God and did not, as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive. And the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to him, why have you done this thing and have saved the men children alive? And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian woman, for they are lively and are delivered air. The midwives come into them. Therefore God dwelt with the midwives. And the people multiplied and waxed very mighty. And it came to pass, because the midwives fear God, that he made them houses. And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, every son that is born you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save alive.
So now Pharaoh is making this commandment. If it's a boy in. Into the. Into the river, and if it's a girl, well, then you can save her.
And this is one of the things that's going on so that they didn't just keep multiplying. And you know, common sense would say, well, why wouldn't they get rid of the girls instead of the men? Because they're the ones having the babies. And of course it's going against what the midwives are doing. They. They have a fear for God and they don't want to be held Responsible they, you know, rather be to you, Pharaoh, than it is to our God, our heavenly father. So you could kind of see how this is coming to pass.
And there went a man of the house of Levi and took to wife the daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived and bear a son. And when she saw him that he was a godly, godly child, she hid him three months. And when she could no longer hide him, she took him an arc of bull rushes and. And daubed it with slime and with pitch and with. And put the children therein. And she laid in it the flags of the. In the flags of the river's brink. So. Reeds, all that stuff.
So. And the pitch is like tar. So, you know, it. It's waterproof and everything. But it's very interesting that you're going to see this again, almost these exact words again.
That is going to come up. And it's going to be very, very interesting because it's already come up before. So we're. Let's get with this again. And his sister stood far off, to wit, what has been done to him, you know, just to know, witness it and. And see it. The daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river, and her maidens walked along by the riverside. And when she saw the ark among the flags among the reeds, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. And she had compassion on him and said, this is one of the Hebrews children.
Then said his sister to Pharaoh's daughter, shall I go and call thee a nurse of the Hebrew women that she may nurse the child for thee? And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, go. And the maid went and called the child's mother. So they went to the mother, and Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, take this child away and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child and nursed it. And the child grew. And she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses. And she said, because I drew him out of the water, she had every intention. She saw this. This baby. She had compassion on it.
You know, she's. They're all seeing something godly with this child, and. And it's a beautiful thing. And of course, nobody wants to harm this child at all. That's how God works. He's the ultimate protection.
So here we go.
And it came to pass in those days when Moses was grown that he went out unto his brethren and looked on their burdens, and he spied an Egyptian smiting a Hebrew, one of his brethren. He's punishing him or either not doing his job, not doing what's supposed to happen, but you could see that he is, he's punishing him.
And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian and hid him in the sand.
Now, we could, we could get out of this piece of information right here on, on verse 12 of chapter two. We can. What can we take from this? Well, he looked this way and he looked that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian. Okay, so was he looking around to say, okay, nobody sees me. I'm going to take this guy out because of what he's doing, and he's beating one of my brethren.
Or, or why is nobody helping him? I'm looking around and nobody's standing up for him.
Therefore, I must take, you know, this into my own hands. It's, it's very hard to know was he being sneaky to see if, you know, no one's watching him, or was he being like, I can't believe nobody's helping here.
So you can, you can kind of see two different ways of looking at this. And the interpretation on this is so vague, but everything that you're reading in the Bible is, is always open to interpretation. So what was Moses thinking at this point?
I mean, here, here's the conflict again. And, and we, we have said, you know, you know, that this conflict in the Bible, and then a reconciliation later on. But it's. And here we are at the very first part on this. And you saw the conflict already had here with Pharaoh's daughter. So, you know, the men, baby, are supposed to be killed. And of course, she finds it in the reads, and then she is violating her father's commandment, the law. So you, you're seeing a conflict there.
So we're going to build up on all this conflict now and, and let's see what happens.
And it came to pass in those days when Moses was grown. So just remember that.
And, and this is after, you know, he had hit him in the sand and. Verse 12 verse, verse 13. And he went out on the second day, and behold, two men of the Hebrews strove together. And he said to him, that thing the wrong. Wherefore, where, wherefore smite us. Thy, Thy, Thou, thy fellow. And he said, who made thee prince and judge over us, intended thou to kill me? As thou killed, killed us, the Egyptian And Moses feared and said, surely this thing is known. And when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh and dwelt in the land of Midian. And he sat down by a well. And now the priest of Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water and filled the troughs with water for their father's flock.
So now two of the Hebrews that are, that are arguing, they're, they're, they're fighting. And of course, Moses is trying to step in to comet. And they said, what, you. All of a sudden, you're a prince now? And what are you going to do to one of us? You're going to kill one of us just like you did the Egyptian. So now that he knows that they know. So they must have been there. And of course, they didn't step in to help their brother.
So you're kind of getting an answer here on what happened. But Moses realizes, hey, if they know this, this is going to get to Pharaoh. That's not good. And then Pharaoh's going to want to slay him.
So he, he leaves. He's up and he's gone.
So now the priest of the Midian had seven daughters. And they came and drew water and filled the troughs with their. With water. Their. To water their father's flock. And the shepherds came and drove them away. But Moses stood up and helped them and watered the flock. And when they came to row, their father said, how is it that you're come so soon today?
And they said, an Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds and also drew water enough for us and watered the flock. Well, it's very interesting on. You know, Moses did stand up. He helped out. Now he's there. And he said unto his daughters, and where is he? Why is it that ye have left the man? Call him that he may eat bread. And Moses was content to dwell with the man. And he gave Moses Zipper his daughter, and she spare him a son. And she bear him a son. And he called his name Gershom.
For he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.
And Israel calls upon God. And it came to pass in the process of time that the king of Egypt died. And the children of Israel sighed by reason of bondage. And they cried. And their cry came up unto God by reason of bondage. And God heard their groaning. And God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.
Boy, is that a statement that, that we are going to question through the rest of Exodus and, and getting into. Right afterward, into numbers and stuff? It's going to be. You're. You're just hang on, because you're going to be thinking to yourself, oh, my goodness, what is going on here? Okay, so God miraculously appears. Now, Moses kept. And this is chapter three. We're on page 71, so. Of Exodus. So let's get to it. Now, Moses kept the flock of Jethro, his father in law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back side of the desert. And he came to the mountain of God, even to Hobo Harib. And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in the flame of a fire out of the mist of a bush.
Now, you'll notice this. Everyone's like God in the burning bush. I want you to understand something. The angel of the Lord, verse 2. The angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the mists of the. Of a bush. And he looked, and behold, the bush burned with fire. But the bush was not consumed.
And Moses said, I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.
And you could go, you can go forward because this, like I said before, these, these kind of go forward in these cross references that we talked about before. So if you want to talk about the bush, well, Deuteronomy 33:16, Acts 7:30, burned up. And then you'll see Acts again right there, 7:31, Deuteronomy 33:16. And you can kind of see how this is all tying together. So pay attention to that. I'll always give you the reference back or forward to where we are.
And here we are. We're on verse four.
And when the Lord saw it, saw that he had turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush. And he said, moses, Moses. And he said, here am I. Or Hanini, as that we know in Hebrew, here am I.
And now you know, God is now talking through the bush. The angel of the Lord appeared unto him in the flame of fire out of the mists of the bush.
But this is where God said, right here, verse four. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see. God called unto him of the mists of the bush. And he said, moses, Moses.
And of course, he responded, honey, here am I. And he said, draw near hither.
Put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standeth is holy ground.
Moreover, he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.
And here we go again. Another euphemism or, you know, way of connecting that. No one has ever seen God's face, but he sees the bush. So if you're reading this in. In a poetic way, you could tell that the bush is a representation definitely of God. So we know this. And of course, the Lord's saying, you take your shoes off and everything. You're in my. This, this area right here. This. This is my temple. This is my holy ground.
Present yourself that way. You know, get. Get your feet off.
You're on holy ground.
And when the Lord always says something, you're going to hear exactly what was said before. Tell them, I am.
I am the Lord God. But it's always, I am. It's that simple.
Who are? I am the Lord God. But I. I find that that's interesting too, and that's going to be almost redundant throughout the entire biblical Bible. And, and you're going to see that.
And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters. For I know their sorrows, and I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of the land, unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto a place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the parasites and the Hivites and the Jebusites. Now, therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me. And I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, I will send thee unto Pharaoh that thou mayest bring forth my people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.
There's his declaration. Remember, he has a covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, with Jacob. Okay? He. He has seen how well they have done.
Even if you look at Joseph and, And everything that's happened. So he's not going to let this happen. And he's surely not going to let it happen to his children. And the interesting part is now he is called upon Moses. I got news for you. You will do this. You're. You're going to be the one that is going to go before Pharaoh. Well, imagine how Moses feels because he's killed an Egyptian, buried him in the sand, and, and he knows that the others know about this. So this is really kind of conflicting. So how is Moses going to be able to handle this? And, you know, it's. It's a. It's a very hard task. Imagine if we were at the New Testament and we're going through Matthew or going through John, how Mary must have felt when God the angel Gabriel came to her and said, listen, you found favor in God's eyes, and you're going to have this child. And of course, she's like, hey, I'm a virgin.
You know, how can this be? And he said, hey, the Holy Spirit's going to come upon you and going to overshadow you. So at that time, she's like, okay, well, I am the Lord's servant. I will take this on freely. So let's see how Moses handles this. Now we know how Mary handled that. If. When we get to the New Testament, we're going to. We're going to see that. But how is Moses going to handle this right here, right now? So, and Moses said unto God, who am I?
That I should go unto Pharaoh and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt.
Now you can almost hear in that statement, well, who. Who am I? Okay, you're talking to a burning bush that is giving you instructions, told you take your shoes off, stamp your hope for me properly upright, outward, like a man, and you're going to question me. Who am I to go before Pharaoh? I am the Lord God, you know, that made a covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and you're worried about Pharaoh.
It. Like I said, there's so much going on in the background, and. And it's so fun to kind of delve into it, because it's almost like he's asking God, who am I to do this? You're talking to God.
So here we go. And he said, certainly I will be with thee, and this shall be a token unto thee that I have sent thee. When thou has brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
What is his name? And Moses said unto God, behold, when I come unto the children of Israel and shall say unto him, the God of your fathers has sent me unto you. And they shall say to me, what is this name? What shall I say unto them? Now, here we go. We're on verse 14 now, chapter three. And the God said to Moses, I am that I am.
There it is, I am. So even though we hear, I am the Lord your God, it is, I am that I am.
Who am I? I am cut and dry. I am Am.
And. And I love that I am. That I am.
And there's so many different deep interpretations of that. And of course, we always hear, I am the Lord your God. But everything that he starts with this is I am.
So this is going to get fun.
And believe it or not, I'm still nursing a little bit of the sinus cold and stuff, but we're getting through it.
So here we go. Verse 15. And God said, moreover unto Moses, thus shout you say unto the children of Israel, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob has sent me unto you. This is my name forever. This is my memorial unto all generations. The Lord God.
So I am. Is. I am the Lord God.
He. He is. And, and he's not asking, he's telling them. He's telling Moses right here.
Thus shall thou say unto the children of Israel, this is how you will, for now on address me.
You will say this. Okay? This is. I'm not asking, I'm telling you. And, and I think that that's important because it's, it's establishing that our Father in heaven that is the top of the hierarchy.
Okay? And, and when we start to talk about this, understand, in order to have creation and everything else, we have to have something outside of that creation in order to make that creation. So from the beginning, God is everywhere, we know this. Omnipresent, omnipotent, omnipotent in every single way. So he can go in, out through it, and everything else. Remember, he's outside of time, space and matter. So now he is talking here to, to Moses and telling him, this is how you're going to address me.
Verse 16. Go and gather the elders of Israel together and say unto him, the Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you and seen which is done to you in Egypt. And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, the Hivites and the Amorites and the parasites and the, and the, the Hittites and the. I'm sorry, Hivites and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
And they shall hearken to thy voice. And thou shall come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt.
And ye shall say unto him, the Lord God of the Hebrews have met with us. And now let us go, we beseech thee. Three days journey into the wilderness that we may sacrifice unto the Lord our God. And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go. No, not a mighty hand.
So God already knows that you could see how this is all playing out and how this is all being prepared here.
The, the ultimate planner, you know, and the more that we delve into this, you're going to see God's whole entire plan just come to fruition. And the wonderful thing about it is, is that even though that there's conflict and, and all these betrayal and all these different things that are happening, groaning, moaning, grumblings and everything else, God already knows all this is going to happen.
And yet he has put in place the perfect answer, the perfect plan, which is just, merciful, gracious, most importantly, loving. And we're going to watch it all come true.
And verse 20. And I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders, which I will do in the midst thereof. And after that, he will let you go.
And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. And it shall come to pass that when ye go, ye shall not go empty. Think about that. You will not go empty. But every woman shall borrow of her neighbor and that of that sojourneth in her house, jewels of silver and jewels of gold and raiment, and you shall put upon them your sons and upon your daughters. And you shall spoil the Egyptians.
Well, what does that mean?
I. I take it as in my interpretation on this. He's basically telling him, listen, he's not going to let you go right away.
Not a mighty hand like Ramses Pharaoh. No, but he will let you go.
It's going to happen. And when you do, how will you be leaving?
Almost like the spoils of war. You're going to end up plundering them. You're. You can end up plundering the Egyptians and then you're going to go. And the beautiful part about it is they're going to give it to you. They're going to set you free and willfully give it to you. So here we go. Chapter four.
They will not believe me. And we're on page 73. And Moses answered and said, but behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice. For they will say, the Lord had not appeared unto me. And the Lord said unto him, what is in thy hand? And he said, a rod. And he said, cast it on the ground. So it's a rod. We could take that as a staff. We can take that as a walking stick. We can take that as anything. But he says it's a rod. Okay.
One of those things I like to point out, because as we went through Genesis at the. At the early part, everyone was under this belief that it was Adam and Eve, and it was not. It was Adam and the woman.
On top of that, they were like, well, she. Eve ate the. The apple. And I'm like, no, there was no apple. It was fruit. Did you eat of the tree of. Of knowledge, of good and evil? And it doesn't say apple in there anywhere. It was fruit. So as we come across these things, we're. We're going to try to cover those things just so that we can break down all these false myths and everything else that you hear out in the regular world. And why? Because when people believe or hear these things, then they start to spread stuff. And you know what? They're spreading stuff that's just not true. And it's always in a negative connotation to our Lord God, and it's just not true. So we are going to correct these as we go along as best as we can as to what God shows us. And like I said, I. I just love this. But here we go.
We're on chapter four now. And we're on verse three, page 73, King James Bible. And he said, oh, excuse me. And he said, cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses fled from before it.
Here's that word again. Serpent. And, you know, we had, when we were in the garden, the woman and. And Adam, she was beguiled by the serpent, right? And then we ask those questions, well, how does the serpent talk?
And why is the serpent's punishment to crawl on its belly when that's exactly what it does. So this is a wonderful poetic book. Like I said, it's got a lot of wonderful analogies in it or. Or euphemisms in it and everything else. But you see people out on the street, when they talk about somebody that they realize is maybe not a good person, they'll say, he's a snake, okay? Or he's just not a good person, but he's a snake or, or a serpent or a pit viper or something like that, right? Okay, well, here we go. So now we have.
It's turned. You know, it became a serpent and Moses fled from before it. Verse 4. And the Lord said unto Moses, put forth thy hand and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand.
That they may believe that the Lord God of your Fathers, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob hath appeared unto me. And the Lord said, furthermore unto him, put now thy hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom.
What if he delved right through his skin, right into his stomach? Or put his hand on his stomach, kind of like Jacob said, hey, listen, put your hand below my thigh, okay? So he puts his fort. His hand on. On to his bosom.
And when he took it out, behold, the hand was leprous as snow.
Can you imagine pulling your hand back on out? You could see, oh, my goodness, it's diseased, It's. It's defiled.
And he said, put thy hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again and plucked it out of his bosom. And behold, it was turned again as the other flesh it was back to normal. And it shall come to pass if they do not believe thee neither hearken to the voice of the first sign. They will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass if they will not believe also these two signs neither hearken unto thy voice that thou shalt take of the water of river and poured upon the dry land. And the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
So he's telling them, and. And you can see this. So what is this we're going to see in here?
10 different plagues, 10 different things, 10 different events. You call them plagues, you can call them whatever you want. Events, you can call them anything that you want. But the bottom line is there's 10 of them. And these things are going to be inflicted upon the Egyptians.
So let's see how this plays out. Now, Moses again, he's got to be scared to death. He just watched his rod turned into a serpent, scared him to death. He took a couple steps away and got grab it by the tail. And this is coming from a burning bush. Can you imagine the process of trying to process all this information and seeing all this happen? And then he says, hey, put your hand by your stomach, put in your bosom, pull it out. It's leprous. Now put it back. He puts it back, he pulls it out again. It's normal. And now he's telling him, take a little bit of water here. You're going to pour it out. It's going to turn to blood.
And this is what's going to happen to the entire river.
That's a lot of information to process from a burning bush that has Already got you scared to where you have been given the name of the Lord. This is what you shall call me from now on in. God is not asking. He's telling him. He's basically saying, I have chosen you, and that's the bottom line. You are my choice. This is how it's going to be. And Moses is first a little freaked out, thinking, well, I can't go before Pharaoh. You're before God, okay? Now here he is again. He's trying to get out of this. So now we are in verse 10. I am slow of speech.
Chapter 4, Exodus 4. And Moses said unto the Lord, my Lord, I am not eloquent neither, neither heretofore not, since thou hast spoken unto thy servant. But I am slow of speech and slow of tongue. And the Lord said to him, who hath made man's mouth?
Who has made man's mouth? That's what God's telling him.
Who maketh the dumb or the deaf or the seeing or the blind? Have not I the Lord? And now, therefore, go. And I will be with thy mouth and teach thee what thou shall say.
You're doing it, you know.
I'm going to tell you what to say, how you're going to say it, when you're going to say it. I'm going to be with you.
And. And here we go. Here we got more testing now. And he said, my Lord, send, I pray thee, the hand of him whom thou wilt send. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses. Well, yeah, Moses is testing. He wants every way out of this. He's testing God. So now God is angry. And again, here we are. Verse 14, chapter 4. And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Moses. And he said, is not Aaron the Levite thy brother?
I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee. And when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. And thou shalt speak unto him and put words in his mouth. And I will be with thy mouth and with his mouth and will teach you what ye shall do. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people. And he shall be even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God. And thou shalt take this rod in thy hand wherever thou shall do signs.
So God's very clear.
Fine.
Aaron's going to be there. Aaron's well spoken.
I'm going to tell him exactly what to say for you. And you will know. He will know. Wherever you go, you're going to take that staff. But this is how this is going to be.
So. And. And Aaron's going to be glad.
So what is Aaron's place going to be? God has already chosen him to be a spokesperson for Moses. Will it be more than that?
So let's go on. Moses returns to g. To Egypt. So we're on. Verse 18, chapter 4.
And Moses went and returned to Jethro, his father in law, and said unto him, let me go, I pray thee, and return to my brethren which are in Egypt, to see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, go in peace.
And the Lord said unto Moses in Midian, go. Return to Egypt, for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
So during this time, everyone that was wanting to slay Moses, well, they're already gone. They're done. And Moses took his wife and his sons and set them upon an ass. And they returned to the land of Egypt. And Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
It is God's rod that he has given Moses. And he's told him, wherever you go, you will have this with you.
These are the things that are going to be the sign. Remember, we already know. It could turn into a snake, grab by the tail, pick it right back on up. Everything that's going to happen is going to happen. And you can bet that that staff, that rod, walking stick, or whatever it was in those days is going to be with Moses.
And the Lord said to Moses, oh, I'm sorry, chapter 21, or verse 21. And the Lord said unto Moses, when thou goest to return to Egypt, see that thou doest all those wonders before Pharaoh which I put in thy hand. But I will harden his heart that he shall not let the people go. And thou shall say unto Pharaoh, thus said the Lord Israel is my son, even my firstborn. And I say unto thee, let my son go, that he may serve me. And if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son. Even thy firstborn boy. There's a premonition here.
He's making it very clear.
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, they're his sons. He's. He's made it very clear.
Let my son go.
Almost a euphemism, if you remember.
And. And of course, unless you have not read the New Testament yet. But the interesting thing is, is that a.
A king will come. He will shoulder the government. He's the prince of peace and everything else. And they say he is the descendant of David. But the truth of the matter is, David is Still a descendant of Isaac, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. The lineage goes that far back. So you have to understand that, that really it all started with them.
And that's, that's the, the wonderful thing. It all ties together.
Cross references and everything else that all ties together.
And of course he's telling how he is manipulating Pharaoh, you know, and up above you could see that, you know, Moses wanted his way on out. Who am I to go before Pharaoh? God said, watch, I'm manipulating him.
There is that. That power again, that divine power that is showing that you're here and I'm way up there. There is no comparison.
And you know, Moses trying to get out of this with every excuse he can. Hey, I'm dumb and everything else. Don't worry about that. I'm the one who's, who's made the deaf, the blind, the dumb and everything else.
I know what you are. You're still going to do this. And of course he was mad at Moses. So. All right, so Moses re. Reinstitutes circumcision.
All right?
Verse 24, Exodus 4.
And it came to pass by the way in the inn. And the Lord met him and sought to kill him.
Then Zipper ran.
Zipper took a sharp stone and cut the foreskin of her son and cast it at his feet and said, surely a bloody husband art thou to me. So she let him go and. And then she said, a bloody husband thou art because of the circumcision.
So you are a bridegroom of blood. Think about that.
We're going to hear that said about Christ. He is the bridegroom and it is going to go back and forth.
It's very interesting. You can also cross reference to Joshua 5, 2, 3. And here we go. Israel accepts the call of Moses as deliverer.
And the Lord said unto Aaron, go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went. He met him in the mount of God and kissed him. And Moses told Aaron all the words of the Lord who, who had sent him and all the signs which he had commanded him. And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel. And Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses and did the signs in sight of the people.
So this is very interesting.
Aaron spoke all the words which the Lord had spoken unto Moses and did all the signs in the sight of the people.
So as he's speaking the words, he's probably grabbing the rod, he's throwing it down. Moses is in the position of God has sent me. I'm representing God because that's what God wants me to do. And Moses is carrying out the speaking. He is speaking for Moses, right? Or Aaron is speaking for Moses and carrying out exactly what God, once he's been put in this position, to do this.
And the people believed. And when they heard that the Lord had visited the children of Israel and that he looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped. They thank God and. And rightfully so.
And now we're getting into this. Pharaoh's not normally going to let anybody come in or come up to them. And so we know this. We know that this is going to happen. And of course, we got about probably five minutes left, but we're going to go ahead and talk a little bit about some of these different things and we're going to stop. I'm going to stop right there. As far as reading, we're going to be on chapter five, page 74, King James Bible.
And we're at Pharaoh rejects Moses.
So Moses is going to go right before him and we're going to see this. But you can kind of see everything that has been going on to this thing. You can see the conflict and you're starting to see a little bit of their reconciliation and the different things, which I just love. I mean, it is just.
It's just an amazing book. We are at 12, 22, 24, and we're going to stop right there in the King James. I'm going to close the book up.
Love this book. And we're going to talk a little bit about Christmas and everything else. You know, today's world, we're in a little bit of a conflicting deal.
Everybody's got this new reality of, well, this isn't the way it is. This is the way it is. And all these different beliefs and everything else. It's Christmas time. It's a celebratory time.
People are like, it's a. It's a pagan ritual or something else. Let me tell you, there's a couple of things that I've learned in life as far as me. And be it Christmas, be it not Christmas.
The bottom line is that we are to celebrate Christ's life every single day and give him the glory. Give him the honor of coming down and saving us from ourselves.
Make no mistake about it, he beat death and he came here for us.
Show him the respect he is due. Glorify his name, bottom line.
And if you pay attention, you will see the miracles all the time of everything going on. Hey, I got Stu on. Look at that. I'm Gonna bring Stu on with me.
[00:50:22] Speaker B: Hi Stu, how's it going?
[00:50:25] Speaker A: I am doing wonderful. We are just finishing up Life Walk with Christ God.
And you know, I'm enjoying it. And we were just talking about Christmas and just talking about the special time of year it is. Even though every day with Christ is the same special day.
[00:50:44] Speaker B: So I was going to do that on my show.
[00:50:47] Speaker A: Ah, well, more listen, the more the merrier. I think it's important. The more the merrier. How are you? How have you been?
[00:50:55] Speaker B: Not too bad for the audience.
[00:51:00] Speaker A: Ah, thank goodness most of you who don't know or have paid attention to Trim TRIM Radio. This is a Stu Shear. He is our partner and one of of four of us and that is Riskella Steffens, Stu share and of course Victoria and myself. So we have this beautiful little family and I love them all and they, they do such a wonderful, fantastic job and I'm just enjoy, immensely enjoy the time that I have with these guys. So Stu, what are you doing for Christmas?
[00:51:41] Speaker B: Well, I'm getting ready for the show and I accidentally hit the wrong button again.
[00:51:47] Speaker A: That's how God works.
[00:51:49] Speaker B: It's the wrong button. In my case it's quite a bit. But anyhow, hey, we're just kind of taking it easy going to be with family and friends and that's what it's about.
[00:52:00] Speaker A: Wonderful.
[00:52:01] Speaker B: We had some excellent concerts. We played three concerts and they were fairly well packed. We had a good time and now I can lay back for two months and then we start practicing and we play six more concerts in starting in May.
[00:52:20] Speaker A: Right. Because we have Easter coming up.
[00:52:22] Speaker B: You got it?
[00:52:24] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:52:24] Speaker B: So yeah, that's what's going on. I'll leave you alone and I'll get back to setting up my show.
[00:52:29] Speaker A: Guys, don't forget money and changes on tonight. Stu is a little wizard there, you know, tells you basically how to look out for some things and prepare a little better and everything else. But don't forget to tune into that. That's at 7:00. But it always is good to see Stu.
[00:52:50] Speaker B: AUDIENCE have a Merry Christmas everybody.
[00:52:54] Speaker A: Thank you, Stu.
[00:52:56] Speaker B: See ya.
[00:53:00] Speaker A: And one of the cool things, just remember life is already hard enough, you know, don't worry about tomorrow. It's going to have a whole bunch of problems in itself.
Before you react, try to think about it as best as you can. When dealing with other people in this world, sometimes the best thing to do is just if you don't know how to react is don't say anything. You don't find yourself five seconds later going, trying to suck the words back in that you accidentally spilled out upon the world. So, like, we all haven't done that, right?
But just remember, it's so wonderful to be able to spend it with family, friends, relatives, loved ones, other people, and be kind to one another, love one another, and definitely do not forget Christ every single day of your life.
I think that it's the most important thing that you could do.
So bless one another, be careful, love one another and make sure that you're giving God his honor, his glory, because he's the one that's kept us here. There is no guarantees for anything, but he has kept us here. So with that, God bless, folks. Take care. I hope you enjoyed the program. Don't forget next week. Hey, man, we're right back at it. We're diving right back into Exodus because it's just getting good and it's. Man, I have so much fun doing this. The Bible is such a very, very cool, factual, true love story.
It's just wonderful. So we're going to get back into it next week and until then, wish you the best.
