There's a lot of stuff that goes on. There's a lot of stuff that goes on. And I know Michael Bayas is very. [00:07:29] Speaker B: Busy putting his shows together in the. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Same thing with Rascalis Stefan's. And I'll tell you what, I've been on his show a couple of times and. And I think a contributor. Contributor or a listener. [00:07:42] Speaker C: Okay. [00:07:43] Speaker A: And I have a lot of fun. And the same thing with Michael Behas and we jump in and talk to each other from time to time. And that's a good deal. [00:07:53] Speaker C: Okay. [00:07:54] Speaker A: So you want to check into it and let's see what else we've got coming up. Oh, yeah. Money and change. [00:08:05] Speaker B: Financially prepped. We have a Facebook page and if you haven't been to the Facebook page, you had better go. [00:08:13] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:15] Speaker A: The Money and change page is in Facebook. It's easy to join. It really is. All you have to do is click on the invite. [00:08:23] Speaker B: You can join with the rest of us. [00:08:25] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:26] Speaker B: And what we do, we talk about. [00:08:28] Speaker A: A lot of different things. And I post a lot of different things here. [00:08:31] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:32] Speaker A: And we talk about a lot of things. Tonight we're going to talk about winter storm preparedness. Are you really prepared? Do you have a candelier? I do, and hopefully I can show it to you once we get started. And I'll post a link to that after the show. Also, how about savings? [00:08:54] Speaker C: Okay. [00:08:54] Speaker B: How to open a savings account Five. [00:08:56] Speaker A: Steps from bank rate. And that's there. We. We'll talk a little bit about that tonight. Also, is alimony taxable? I'm not an attorney, but I found all this information. I thought I'd pass it on to everybody. So you want to check that out? It's finance yahoo.com and then Statista, what Americans expect from DJT. Better known as President to be Trump. And we're going to talk about that tonight. How about property tax? I found this one today. Why property tax is illegal. Oh, lawyers would get angry at me on this one. I'm just presenting what's here, guys from Zero Hedge.com and it could very well be illegal. Maybe we're tax twice or three times or four times or five times. You know, maybe a flat tax would help. Oh, also, here's our character. Buckle up, it's about to get bumpy. Yeah, it is. With all this weather coming through and the economic climate, you better be prepared. That's all I'm saying. There's one here. I, I was going to go over that. It's YouTube.com 68banksin trouble. And the funny thing was I was. [00:10:21] Speaker B: Talking to a friend of mine who's. [00:10:22] Speaker A: A actuarial, like actuary, I'll just put it that way. He's very good with statistics and numbers and he's saying everything. Looks like we could have some bank. [00:10:35] Speaker B: Problems, especially the big banks. [00:10:40] Speaker A: They're kind of in trouble. [00:10:44] Speaker C: Okay. [00:10:45] Speaker A: And he didn't tell me which 68. [00:10:48] Speaker B: Banks were in trouble. [00:10:49] Speaker A: But they're out there. And you kind of notice it when you maybe go to the bank and they don't have as many tellers or. [00:11:01] Speaker B: Sometimes the ATM machines aren't working the way that you hope that they would be working. [00:11:07] Speaker A: Yeah, a lot of things about that. And especially when they have loans, you know, now the loan rate's up 6. [00:11:14] Speaker B: 7, 8, 9, 10%. [00:11:18] Speaker A: Yeah. And you go to get out a certificate of deposit. [00:11:24] Speaker B: Some people have those. [00:11:26] Speaker A: And some of the banks I go to to check on certificates of deposits, better known as CDs, they're only giving about three and a half percent for about 15 months. But I have a bank that's giving out 4.14% interest for 13 months. And guess what? It turns out to be 4.41%. So I looked out on that one. You have to do your research on all this stuff. But when I find something decent, I. [00:12:03] Speaker B: Will put it on our Facebook page. [00:12:05] Speaker A: And it's Easy to join facebook.comgroups/money and change. Okay, Check us out. It's right there. [00:12:16] Speaker B: You've seen what it looks like. [00:12:17] Speaker A: And I'll tell you what, we've got people from all over and we have a lot of fun. Okay? We've got 150 members and we are growing. I just approved another four today. So I have fun doing that. [00:12:37] Speaker B: The more members that we get is is fantastic. [00:12:39] Speaker A: I'VE got people from Myanmar, which used to be Burma. I've got people from India. I've got people from, oh, gee, was Africa, South Africa, Europe, North America. I don't know if I've got anybody from South America. Maybe I do. And then hopefully I get some people. [00:13:02] Speaker B: From Japan that speak English, okay, Because. [00:13:05] Speaker A: I don't speak Japanese other than domo origato, Mr. Roboto. I think I listened to that in a, in a musical tune one time. Well, anyhow, guys, check out our Facebook page because a lot of important information goes there. Okay, now, another one that I need to talk about is the University of Finley. And I'll tell you what, the University. [00:13:34] Speaker B: Of Finley is a darn good school. It really is. And people say, well, it's just a. [00:13:39] Speaker A: Little place, about 3,500 to 4,000 students. And I'll tell you what, it's a good school. It really is. [00:13:48] Speaker B: And let's see if I can get to this page. [00:13:51] Speaker A: They're really good in athletics, too, especially this year. And here you can see it. This is their main page and gives you a picture of the campus. [00:14:04] Speaker B: Some of the activities going on, the. [00:14:06] Speaker A: Dancing and everything, some of the things that they do. And hazardous materials. That's their campus, of course, graduation. [00:14:13] Speaker B: Those are doctoral students. [00:14:15] Speaker A: And because they give bachelor's, masters and doctoral degrees there and they do a lot of different things in occupational therapy or they work on sports medicine, business, chemistry. It's a good school. That's just the practice field that they showed there. They have their own stadium which is. [00:14:41] Speaker B: Off campus, but it's a nice stadium. [00:14:43] Speaker A: And that's their equestrian and farm science area where they do a lot of things. And their equestrian team, which is nationally known. [00:14:53] Speaker B: And of course, they're weightlifting and everything else. [00:14:56] Speaker A: So you want to check them out. Www.f I n d l a y.edu Located in Findley, Ohio. And oh, the next one, I've got. [00:15:10] Speaker B: To get to this one because these. [00:15:12] Speaker A: Guys have really worked hard this year. And a lot of good sports. I'll tell you what, really good sports. Let me get to that page, was almost there. And this is the athletics page and the girls basketball team. And they were at, I believe this. [00:15:32] Speaker B: Was at Cedarville University. [00:15:35] Speaker A: And of course, the football team has done very well this year. It's an NCAA Division 2 school. And I'll tell you what, they have good volleyball and they were nationally known in volleyball and Division 2 NCAA, also basketball. The University of Finley is rated number. [00:15:57] Speaker B: 17Th in the nation. [00:15:59] Speaker A: So I have to get up there and see the team. [00:16:03] Speaker C: Okay? [00:16:04] Speaker A: And being an alumni, I think because I'm an old guy, I get to. [00:16:09] Speaker B: See the games free. [00:16:11] Speaker C: Okay? [00:16:12] Speaker A: But the girls game is usually the first game and then the guys play the second. Sometimes it's reversed. I just have to check the schedule. But they have a very, very good sports group there, not only in swimming. [00:16:27] Speaker B: Football, basketball, weightlifting, wrestling. [00:16:33] Speaker A: They don't have tiddly wings. They never do tiddly wings. It. It's strictly academic, okay? It's a good academic school, trust me. So you want to check out the University of Finley at Finley, Ohio, and it's www.f I n d l a y. And Dr. Kathy Fell is the president of the university. [00:16:55] Speaker B: Also the latest news on the merger. The University of Finley and Bluffton University have merged and they have done all. [00:17:05] Speaker A: The application and so forth. [00:17:07] Speaker B: And from what I have gathered is the University of Finley will do the financial support for the University of Bluffton. [00:17:14] Speaker A: As well as the legal work. So a lot of that still has to be worked out. But it's a merger. [00:17:21] Speaker B: And the University of Bluffton is an NCAA 3 school and they are located. [00:17:26] Speaker A: In Bluffton, Ohio, right down I75. [00:17:30] Speaker B: So if you want to take a. [00:17:31] Speaker A: Class at Bluffton and you went to Finley, you can do it. If you went to Bluffton and you want to take a class up in Finley, you could do that. It's only 20 miles away. [00:17:41] Speaker C: Okay. [00:17:43] Speaker A: Both of them are very good schools, so, you know, you don't want to check them out. Okay. Whoa. What else do we have going on? We need to talk about winter. You know, there's stuff going on in the winter time and I don't know. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Are you prepared for snow? [00:18:07] Speaker A: I mean, are you really prepared for bad weather? Some people say, well, I live in Florida. We have to put up with hurricanes. [00:18:16] Speaker C: Okay. [00:18:17] Speaker A: I have friends in Florida and they did put up with a couple of bad hurricanes. But up here in the north, we get snow and boy, do we get snow. [00:18:31] Speaker B: And right now there is a major storm that's coming out of the west. [00:18:37] Speaker A: And I saw some of the results that were in St. Louis in that area, and it was coming eastward and it looks nasty. And below a certain line you're going. [00:18:50] Speaker B: To have freezing rain. And basically above I 70 in Ohio. [00:18:57] Speaker A: You are going to have snow. [00:19:01] Speaker B: And for where I live, they're saying. [00:19:03] Speaker A: Between four and maybe six inches of snow. And for people up in Michigan, they say, ah, that's nothing, that's nothing. That's just a flurry for work. For where we Live, you know, because. [00:19:17] Speaker B: They end up with feet of snow. [00:19:19] Speaker A: Up there, especially up in northern Michigan, up in the Lake Superior area. [00:19:26] Speaker C: Okay? [00:19:27] Speaker A: It's a beautiful area, but in the wintertime, I don't think I want to have four feet, a foot on my. On my roof, you know? [00:19:35] Speaker B: But anyhow, you have to prepare for this stuff. [00:19:38] Speaker A: And you. You have to make sure that you have adequate blankets. You've got food, you've got water, you've got the proper clothing for the season. How about your medications? If you can't get out, you have to have that. [00:19:54] Speaker B: How about extra batteries? [00:19:57] Speaker A: Yeah, you have to have that. Another thing you have to have. And I know I've been harping about this, you know, and Dave Gilmore keeps talking to me about it, but the GMRS radios, okay, ham radio operators, they don't like these, okay? It's kind of. We get along. But with this radio, which is an. [00:20:24] Speaker B: Ocean 935G plus and a Nagoya 771. [00:20:28] Speaker A: Antenna, from where I live, I can contact Dayton, Ohio, 35 miles away, to a repeater. And that repeater gets out about 90 miles. And I can talk to other people that have a GMRS license. So when the phones go down, the power goes down. Guess what? You're going to have cell phones go down after a while, and then you're. [00:20:54] Speaker B: Going to be needing the GMRS radios. [00:20:58] Speaker A: And the repeaters, and you're going to need ham radios, okay? And the GMRS radios are $35 for 10 years. [00:21:11] Speaker B: Yeah, 10 years. [00:21:12] Speaker A: And anybody in the family can use it. It's a family radio deal, okay? [00:21:17] Speaker B: It's not a cheap blister pack radio that you get at Wally World or Costco. [00:21:24] Speaker A: Now, this isn't that way. [00:21:26] Speaker B: This. [00:21:27] Speaker A: This is a good radio and I have several of them. [00:21:31] Speaker B: Reason being is in an emergency, I. [00:21:34] Speaker A: Can deploy these with my family and we can communicate back and forth, okay? You go out on a trip, one person has one, one person has the. [00:21:46] Speaker B: Other, and you can communicate. [00:21:49] Speaker A: You got to behave, though. 35 bucks FCC, good for 10 years. And the Ocean W X U N. [00:21:58] Speaker B: 935G series, excellent radios, trust me. [00:22:03] Speaker A: And you can do more than just talk on gmrs. You can listen to other different radio frequencies. [00:22:09] Speaker C: Okay? [00:22:10] Speaker A: So you want to check them out. The other thing I was going to. [00:22:13] Speaker B: Try to show you, if I can get it to work on screen. I got this a while back. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Oh, it's going to start disappearing. I don't. [00:22:28] Speaker B: I had problems with this earlier. [00:22:31] Speaker A: Yeah, there you go. This is a candelier C A N D E L I E R and I'll tell you what, it has three candles and it's a camping lantern. But you can also put a pot on top of this thing. [00:22:49] Speaker B: You can boil water. You can have soup or whatever in an emergency. [00:22:53] Speaker A: And it puts out pretty good light. [00:22:55] Speaker B: All you have to do to get. [00:22:56] Speaker A: It to go is basically twist the base and the top lifts off. And it also has a handle that. [00:23:03] Speaker B: You can carry it around. [00:23:04] Speaker A: You can't see it. But I'll. [00:23:05] Speaker B: I'll put the video. [00:23:06] Speaker A: I've got a video for it. And I had a friend of mine ask me how does it work? How does it work? Yeah, it's hard to see anyhow. It comes in a neat box. I don't even know if. [00:23:21] Speaker B: If this will even show. [00:23:22] Speaker A: Well, that's part of it. Somehow. [00:23:25] Speaker B: This camera's been acting up today. But you can see what it is. [00:23:28] Speaker A: Candelier. [00:23:29] Speaker C: Okay. [00:23:30] Speaker A: And you could do different things with it. They have directions on the back. Oh, this is. Something's wrong with the atmosphere. [00:23:40] Speaker C: Okay. [00:23:40] Speaker A: It's messing everything up. [00:23:42] Speaker B: It messed my computer up today. It messed up my printer. Thank you. [00:23:46] Speaker A: Microsoft update. Yeah. I don't know. Were you having those problems, too? Yeah, it's a pain. I know it well. Anyhow, guys, that's what I have. Big shout out to rusty ducks. Custom pens, of course. [00:24:06] Speaker B: Watch us every Sunday night at 7pm. [00:24:09] Speaker A: On money and Change Live, Laugh or whatever. Wednesdays at 8pm and we're going to be live. We're always live for my world, unless I get sick. I had a. I'll call it a. [00:24:26] Speaker B: Foodborne allergy or foodborne illness and took me out for about three days. [00:24:31] Speaker A: Those are not fun. So we've got that. But Money and change will be around. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Live up until. [00:24:44] Speaker C: Probably. [00:24:45] Speaker B: Probably around the middle of May. [00:24:46] Speaker A: And then we start concert season in February or late February, March, and then we go into May. Then we start our concert season for the summer. I'll probably have five or six concerts then. And then we go into the fall season and the winter season. [00:25:01] Speaker B: So I'll keep everybody abreast as to. [00:25:04] Speaker A: What'S going on and whether or not. [00:25:06] Speaker B: You get a rerun or not. [00:25:07] Speaker A: Better known as an encore edition. Also, you want to check out Big Family Homestead with Brad and Krista on YouTube. The deep south Homestead is no more. What it is is Pecan Grove with Danny and Wanda King. And it's a whole new operation there. And you need to take a look at it. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Very interesting people. [00:25:32] Speaker A: I've corresponded with them I'd love to have as a neighbor. [00:25:35] Speaker B: I really would. [00:25:35] Speaker A: They're good people. Southern Prepper 1 with Dave Cobler. Check him out. He's putting on a video just about once a week, sometimes twice a week. Just depends on what's going on and what time he has to do them in. [00:25:49] Speaker B: Very good guy. [00:25:50] Speaker A: He talks a lot about not only. [00:25:52] Speaker B: Prepping, but he also talks about the. [00:25:55] Speaker A: Economy and how bad the economy is or good. I mean, he. He doesn't mince words. And that's the good thing. [00:26:04] Speaker C: Okay. [00:26:05] Speaker A: We also have Patriot Nurse, which is Rachel, and she talks about the economy. She also talks about taking care of yourself in an emergency because she's a nurse and has been for a long time. Also, we've got Amber Stork with Prepper Princess and she'll tell you how to save some money. She's good at that. [00:26:30] Speaker B: She's a self made millionaires. Amber Stork at Prepper Princess. [00:26:34] Speaker A: We also have Dave Gilmore with the radios, and he doesn't talk about radios all the time. He talks about growing things or working. [00:26:45] Speaker B: In groups and so forth. [00:26:47] Speaker A: He's a really good guy. We also have Colby with the Max, and he comes out usually a couple times a week. And he is very, very good at. [00:26:59] Speaker B: How he communicates about what's going on, not only in the world, but what's. [00:27:04] Speaker A: Happening with things here. [00:27:08] Speaker C: Okay. [00:27:08] Speaker A: In the U.S. so you want to check out Colby. Well, hey, let's get on to the matter at hand. We've got something called a winter storm and that's coming. See if I can bring that up on the screen, because you've seen it and you go to the Red Cross, the American Red Cross page. [00:27:39] Speaker B: That's all you have to do. [00:27:40] Speaker A: And they tell you how to get. [00:27:42] Speaker B: Ready for storm safety. [00:27:44] Speaker A: You know, my local town, the street department just put out a video on Facebook and they were talking about how they're preparing to get all of their trucks ready with salt or brine and ready to tackle the streets once they know the snow's coming down and that. [00:28:06] Speaker B: They need the crew. And then the boss will call the. [00:28:09] Speaker A: Crew and they have a half an hour to get there and get on the road. [00:28:13] Speaker B: Everything's gassed and ready. [00:28:16] Speaker A: Trucks are all cleaned up. I mean, it's a. It's a good operation. And Brian Burkhart does an excellent job. [00:28:24] Speaker B: So does his crew. [00:28:25] Speaker A: They're fantastic guys. And in the past, I've met them and they do a really good job. And so, you know, I, I gotta watch that. [00:28:33] Speaker B: I really feel for those guys being out until they get the job done. [00:28:37] Speaker A: They might be out all night. They might put in 18 hours, maybe, who knows? But they're good. [00:28:45] Speaker B: And the streets are clean where I live, and they're salted. [00:28:48] Speaker A: Okay, now, storm words to watch out for. Wind chill, temperature, winter storm outlook, the. [00:28:57] Speaker B: Watch and the advisory. [00:28:59] Speaker A: Okay, so what do you do before a storm? Okay, Plan to stay warm. Stay warm indoors to prevent frostbite and hypothermia. [00:29:10] Speaker B: If you have to go out, make sure. [00:29:12] Speaker A: Sure you have, like, a balaclava that goes over your head. You make sure that you've got gloves and a coat, you've got good boots, and you're dressed warmly, okay? [00:29:23] Speaker B: But you have to prep before the season starts. [00:29:27] Speaker A: That's why I had the candle here. That's why I've got gas in the. [00:29:31] Speaker B: Snow blower ready to go. [00:29:32] Speaker A: That's why I've got extra gasoline for that. The car's always gassed up so I can get out. I've got lots of salt that I can put out. And once the snow hits and I. [00:29:52] Speaker B: Get a chance to use the snow. [00:29:53] Speaker A: Blower, well, then I will take it out and not only clean off my. [00:29:57] Speaker B: Driveway and sidewalks, I also do some. [00:29:59] Speaker A: Of my neighbors, too. I guess I'm a good guy, I guess. But anyhow, I. [00:30:05] Speaker B: We like to help each other up. [00:30:06] Speaker A: Here, and a lot of people do. [00:30:10] Speaker B: Some people have to hire it out. [00:30:11] Speaker A: They have to go ahead and get a plow company to come in and do it. [00:30:15] Speaker C: But be prepared, okay? [00:30:18] Speaker A: Make sure you have your house well. [00:30:20] Speaker B: Caulked around the windows and doors and so forth. Consider using an indoor thermometer or thermostat to monitor the temperature inside. Now, I have several of those, not. [00:30:34] Speaker A: Only for the inside, but also the outside. [00:30:37] Speaker B: So currently, if I turn and look. [00:30:42] Speaker A: Right now it's 28 degrees and that's outside. [00:30:49] Speaker B: Inside, I know, is 72 degrees. [00:30:53] Speaker A: Now, plan to check on loved ones. [00:30:56] Speaker B: And neighbors to make sure they are staying warm. [00:31:01] Speaker C: Okay? [00:31:01] Speaker B: Make sure. [00:31:02] Speaker A: Make sure you have alternative heat for your house because, you know, maybe the. [00:31:08] Speaker B: The gas furnace goes out and I. [00:31:10] Speaker A: Have to use electric or I have to use kerosene if the electric doesn't work. [00:31:18] Speaker C: So I'm. [00:31:19] Speaker A: I'm prepared all the way around. Drink plenty of warm fluids, but avoid. [00:31:25] Speaker B: The caffeine and alcohol. [00:31:27] Speaker A: You know, they used to show movies. [00:31:29] Speaker B: Where people would be drinking alcohol to stay warm. [00:31:32] Speaker A: No, it doesn't work that way. It may burn on the way down, but you won't be in good shape afterwards. Avoid travel if you can. If you don't have to go out, then don't go out. [00:31:43] Speaker B: Stay off the roads until they're cleared. [00:31:46] Speaker A: If you must go outside, plan to dress properly. And we already talked about nose, ears, cheeks, hand warms. Do you have a. An. An electric vest? I got one of those a couple years ago and I want to tell you something. I like it. [00:32:04] Speaker B: I can wear a lighter coat that's insulated on the outside with the electric vest on the inside. And I can stay warm in that vest for, I believe, eight hours. [00:32:15] Speaker A: Yeah. And that's good. If I go to Finley basketball game, I'll dress that way. And when I get to the game, I can unzip the front of the vest and make sure it's turned off and I'm comfortable and I don't have to get all bulky. [00:32:32] Speaker C: Okay. [00:32:33] Speaker A: So you want to check that out. [00:32:35] Speaker B: Make sure when you gather emergency surprise supplies. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Surprise. [00:32:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:40] Speaker A: They are surprised because you don't know where they're at when you need them because you didn't plan. This is why you have to plan. Gather food, water and medicine before the winter storm. Canned goods, boxed goods. [00:32:58] Speaker C: Okay. [00:33:00] Speaker B: Boxed soups. [00:33:02] Speaker C: Okay. [00:33:02] Speaker B: Instant soups. Or you could get other types of food mixes. [00:33:06] Speaker C: Okay. [00:33:07] Speaker B: And you could use the candelier to. [00:33:09] Speaker A: Actually make the soups. [00:33:11] Speaker C: Okay. [00:33:12] Speaker A: To actually warm the soups. Organize your supplies. And a go kit if you have to leave for any reason. Do you have a go bag, something you can strap on your back that's got some extra clothes, it's got some. [00:33:27] Speaker B: Extra medicines in there for you. [00:33:28] Speaker A: It's got some extra water, maybe some extra food. [00:33:32] Speaker C: Okay. [00:33:33] Speaker A: A few pairs of socks, something to think about. And you also need a stay at home kit. And basically I have that. And it's two weeks of supplies. Actually, I can do more than two weeks, trust me. Ensure you have enough warm clothing such as hats, mittens, and blankets for everyone in your household. And I can do that one, you know, if you have to. And you still have electricity and it's cold out, you've got that electric blanket. I hope that comes in handy. You may lose access to drinking water. [00:34:10] Speaker B: So set aside at least 1 gallon of drinking water per person per day. [00:34:14] Speaker A: I'm going to tell you something, that's the bare minimum. You actually need 3 gallons per person per day. So check on the amount of water. [00:34:28] Speaker B: That you have, you know, and the. [00:34:29] Speaker A: Bottled water, it's going to take plenty of that. [00:34:33] Speaker C: Okay. [00:34:34] Speaker A: You might. [00:34:36] Speaker C: Well. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Emergency supplies. What do you need? For emergency supplies, of course, your first aid kit. [00:34:45] Speaker C: Okay. [00:34:46] Speaker B: Your extra medications, your extra vitamins. [00:34:51] Speaker A: Oh, vitamin D. In the wintertime, people have to take vitamin D. Everybody's been. [00:34:57] Speaker B: Found to have a, a shortage of vitamin D in their system. [00:35:02] Speaker A: Some people go down to Florida and soak up the rays, okay? That's getting vitamin D that way. Some people work outside, they get vitamin D that way. [00:35:11] Speaker B: But a lot of people that are inside all the time, they don't get. [00:35:14] Speaker A: Enough vitamin D. So you supplement that, okay, with vitamins 1 a day. Vitamin or multivitamins help, okay? So you want to make sure you have that. You want to keep personal, financial and. [00:35:31] Speaker B: Medical records safe and easy to access. [00:35:35] Speaker A: Do you have multiple copies? [00:35:38] Speaker B: If you have a safety deposit box. [00:35:40] Speaker A: You want to keep a copy there. If you have a safe place in your house, have it there. Put it on a thumb drive, see if I got one here. [00:35:52] Speaker B: Right here? [00:35:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that's the thumb drive. Okay, and this one's good for, I believe it's 512 gigabytes and it's a USB 3.0. They're easy to get. You can get them out at Wally World, better known as Walmart, and do that. Okay, so you want to stock up on things and you want to stock up in advance. A lot of people run to the store. I can't figure out why they run. [00:36:27] Speaker B: To the store at the last minute. [00:36:29] Speaker A: Because they didn't plan, okay? If you didn't plan, you plan to fail, okay? So you want to remember that. What do you have for radios? [00:36:41] Speaker B: Like I said, the GMRS radios come. [00:36:43] Speaker A: In handy, can listen to FM transmissions from that that's available. [00:36:48] Speaker B: I've got other GMRS radios. [00:36:50] Speaker A: I've got solar powered radios that you can crank up. It has light on them. [00:36:56] Speaker B: And you can listen to a lot. [00:36:57] Speaker A: Of different things, am, FM and shortwave, okay? And remember this on your batteries, make sure you have plenty of batteries. Do you have double as AAA's? What do you need? [00:37:12] Speaker B: Get them in advance. [00:37:15] Speaker A: Always have enough. Now I want to tell you something the guy that was in the military told me. He says one is none and two is one. The main reason for that, if one goes out and you don't have a backup, you have nothing. [00:37:36] Speaker C: Okay? [00:37:37] Speaker B: You have nothing. So you want to make sure that you have everything. [00:37:40] Speaker C: Okay? [00:37:41] Speaker A: And the Red Cross, Cross has different. [00:37:45] Speaker B: Storm checklists and fact sheets here. [00:37:48] Speaker A: Power outage sheets, hypothermia, storm safety. Oh, in Arabic. I couldn't read that. If you want to get it in Polish or whatever, they have that checklist in English. Okay, so they have that so that's how you do it. American Red Cross.org yeah, RedCross.org Check them out. Okay. Wow, we've got that one done now. Hey, let's get into some of the stuff that's going on. You know, President Biden is getting ready. [00:38:27] Speaker B: Ready to exit the scene. [00:38:28] Speaker C: Okay. [00:38:31] Speaker A: And regarding what people might have thought. [00:38:34] Speaker B: About him during his term, a lot. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Of people had different thoughts. [00:38:39] Speaker C: Okay. [00:38:41] Speaker A: And towards the end they said he had some illness and nobody knew who. [00:38:47] Speaker B: Was really running the show. Sometimes I personally think nobody knew what who was running the show for the last three years. [00:38:58] Speaker A: But as Donald Trump begins his presidency and there was a pretty big landslide to get him in. [00:39:11] Speaker B: There'S a little. [00:39:12] Speaker A: Bit of hard feelings. [00:39:14] Speaker B: Some presidents are gracious when they leave. [00:39:18] Speaker A: Well, things are going to be a little bit turmoil bound, I'll put it that way. I can't say turmoil ish. I don't think that word exists. But there's some stuff going on and I just want to bring it to your attention because, well. [00:39:46] Speaker B: Sabotage. [00:39:49] Speaker A: So what's going on? Well, according to an article that was in Zero Hedge, Biden attempts to sabotage. [00:39:59] Speaker B: Trump's drill baby drill with proposed ban on new offshore drilling in Atlantic and Pacific. [00:40:06] Speaker A: So maybe they want to pass a law to stop that. [00:40:11] Speaker B: Well, when we could drill and we. [00:40:13] Speaker A: Could process Shell shale oil. Shale oil. We were basically exporting oil. We were independent during Trump. And if the Congress says, well, we're just going to pass something to really put the screws to Trump, then we're going to stop drilling offshore and this is what's going to happen. Well, that's came, that's what came out in the article that I saw. And of course there's a map there that shows everything in the areas where they would be forbidden to drill and the continental shelf regions. And you know, that was tested after. [00:41:06] Speaker B: Barack Obama banned offshore drilling in parts of the Arctic Ocean and dozens of canyons of the Atlantic Ocean. [00:41:14] Speaker A: According to New York Times. It didn't help us any and it. [00:41:20] Speaker B: Drove up the price of oil. [00:41:22] Speaker A: And after we were exporting oil instead of importing it, you know, the prices went down. I mean, do you remember when it was down in the $250 range for oil? And now because the bad weather coming in, they suddenly raced it around here to 339 for regular and almost $4 for premium. Yeah. And you know, in the cold weather you burn more gasoline. Don't even think about an electric car in cold weather, especially wet weather. But anyhow, that's one of the things that we're going to do. And that puts the screw to Trump coming in. Well, there's another one that's going on and I've got to get that one. [00:42:19] Speaker B: On screen because. [00:42:24] Speaker A: That'S an even crazier one. [00:42:26] Speaker C: Okay. [00:42:28] Speaker A: They're saying, well, we lost, we're going to get even. Well, guess what? Biden quietly bans most gas powered tankless water heaters. And it says in the article from Zero Hedge. In a significant regulatory shift that took place quietly the day after Christmas, the Biden administration finalized new climate rules targeting. [00:43:03] Speaker B: Natural gas powered instantaneous water heaters. [00:43:08] Speaker A: You know, some of us have the old standard type. [00:43:12] Speaker B: They were either electric or they were gas fired. [00:43:15] Speaker A: And they were anywhere from 20, 30. [00:43:18] Speaker B: 40, 50 gallon heaters. [00:43:24] Speaker A: But these instantaneous tankless water heaters, you put them on the wall and they. [00:43:31] Speaker B: Don'T heat up until you need the water and then it's on demand and you get hot water like almost instantaneously. They're very, very efficient. [00:43:43] Speaker A: And they've been. [00:43:44] Speaker B: Used over in Europe and Japan for quite a while. [00:43:47] Speaker A: They're very safe. So now he wants to put the. [00:43:51] Speaker B: Screws as far as energy usage on the tankless water heaters. Now, the industry analysts forecast that the average cost increase for new water heaters due to the regulations will be around $450. [00:44:09] Speaker A: This price hike is poised to disproportionately affect low income and senior households who are among the most reliant on the. [00:44:19] Speaker B: More affordable models currently targeted for phase out. [00:44:25] Speaker A: So now they're going to start targeting people that have financial issues or older people. Okay, there it is. Okay, you've seen it. Do you think that's fair? I don't. And then we've got something else coming on Social Security. [00:44:50] Speaker B: How many of you are on Social Security? I can't see it when you raise your hands. [00:44:56] Speaker C: Okay. [00:44:58] Speaker A: But hey, I've been screwed over by Social Security. They sent me a letter one time, they said, well, you're supposed to get $750 a month. And then a month later or two. [00:45:15] Speaker B: Months later, they said, oh, you're only. [00:45:17] Speaker A: Going to get 250 bucks. I couldn't contest it. And they said, well, you work for the government. [00:45:26] Speaker B: Yeah, not all my life. I work in private industry. [00:45:31] Speaker A: Yeah. So I did my time in private before moving on to state government. So I should be, you know, getting my money's worth out of my private employment. That's not the case. Well, anyhow, there's a thing in Yahoo News and they're talking about Higher Social Security payments coming for millions of people from bill that Biden is signing. Okay, so you're supposed to get extra money. And they said President Joe Biden on. [00:46:06] Speaker B: Sunday plans to sign into law a. [00:46:08] Speaker A: Measure that boosts Social Security payments for current and former public employees, affecting nearly 3 million people who receive pensions from. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Their time as teachers, firefighters, police officers. [00:46:22] Speaker A: And other public service jobs. I haven't seen that raise yet. And advocates say, advocates say the Social Security Fairness act is a decades old disparity. Decades, oh, probably 30, 40, 50 years of. [00:46:46] Speaker B: Problem disparity. [00:46:49] Speaker A: We use that term. But what's going to happen is you. [00:46:54] Speaker B: Get a raise in Social Security and. [00:46:56] Speaker A: Then they take it away from you in taxes. Okay, so you have Medicare and everything else as far as living. Yeah, you're going to get some money, but you're not going to get a lot. [00:47:10] Speaker C: Okay. [00:47:12] Speaker A: So here. The Congressional Budget Office estimates in September that eliminating the windfall elimination elimination provision would boost monthly payments to the affected. [00:47:25] Speaker B: Beneficiaries by an average of $360 by December of 2025. [00:47:31] Speaker A: Ending the government pension offset would increase monthly benefits in December 2025 by an average of $700 for 380,000 recipients getting benefits based on the living expenses. And the increase would be an average of $1,190 for 390,000 or surviving spouses. [00:47:58] Speaker B: Getting a widow or widower benefit. [00:48:04] Speaker A: But what's it going to do to your taxes now? I think one thing that Trump is. [00:48:10] Speaker B: Going to do is say you're not. [00:48:14] Speaker A: Going to pay taxes on Social Security. [00:48:19] Speaker B: And hopefully he gets that pass. That would really start to help people. [00:48:24] Speaker A: Another thing would be a flat tax. [00:48:27] Speaker B: And the flat tax would be on income. [00:48:33] Speaker A: But if he did it the right. [00:48:34] Speaker B: Way, he'd put it on sales instead of income. [00:48:37] Speaker A: It would make it a sales tax. And a national sales tax of 5% would be great. They use that in Florida. It's a fantastic system. The more you consume, the more taxes. [00:48:52] Speaker B: You pay in sales tax. And that supports the state. [00:48:57] Speaker C: Okay. [00:48:59] Speaker A: And a lot of states are beginning to use that. It's a good thing. [00:49:03] Speaker C: Okay. [00:49:05] Speaker A: I keep saying okay all the time. Well, hey, so I repeat myself, right? [00:49:11] Speaker B: Oh, what else do we have to talk about? [00:49:16] Speaker A: Yeah, budgets. Do you make a budget? I mean, do you really make a budget? Did you make a budget this last year? Some people didn't. And some people are way in debt. I've known people to get so far in debt that they had. [00:49:44] Speaker B: Let'S put. [00:49:44] Speaker A: This way. [00:49:48] Speaker B: Seven credit cards maxed out. [00:49:51] Speaker A: A Secret credit card that grandma gave them that was almost maxed out and they finally had to consolidate things. Well, here's something for rocket money and that you can do budgeting that way, okay? And they're all different kinds of budgeters, budgetings that you can use, but you could try it on your Google Play stores if you want to try it. But budgeting is a very important thing. [00:50:27] Speaker B: If you haven't budgeted your money, you've got a problem. [00:50:31] Speaker C: Okay? [00:50:32] Speaker B: So what you need to do. [00:50:35] Speaker A: Oh, it didn't like me. Oh, we're still in the air. That's a good thing. Computer problems, Internet problems. [00:50:49] Speaker B: It's got to be due to the storms. [00:50:50] Speaker A: But anyhow, budget. Know how much money you're having to pay out, how much money you take in, and make sure that you don't. [00:51:02] Speaker B: End up with a shortage at the end of the month. [00:51:04] Speaker A: You live within your means. That's the big important thing. [00:51:08] Speaker B: You have to live within your means. [00:51:10] Speaker A: If you don't, then you're going to be at a deficit. [00:51:15] Speaker B: How many of you used your credit card for Christmas? [00:51:19] Speaker A: Pull out that plastic and use it. [00:51:24] Speaker B: I used to do them a few. [00:51:25] Speaker A: Things, I got to admit that. But I paid it off. Do I have any interest? No. Have I had any interest in the past? Yeah, $2 and something. Because I pay it off, and that's a good thing. Pay it off and you don't pay interest. That's money you've saved, okay? [00:51:50] Speaker B: And if you live within your means and you follow Amber Stork in the. [00:51:53] Speaker A: Way that she suggests you live, you could save a lot more money. You can check her out on YouTube. [00:52:01] Speaker B: Very good person. [00:52:02] Speaker C: Okay? [00:52:04] Speaker A: But you have to live within a budget. So add up all your bills, what you have to pay out for utilities, gas, for travel, food, clothing, and so forth. And then you take that total. [00:52:19] Speaker B: You have that total. [00:52:20] Speaker A: You take out the money you're getting in, okay? [00:52:24] Speaker B: So you might have an investment, you. [00:52:26] Speaker A: Might have Social Security or other investments, or you would have maybe just your job and that's it. Or you're working two or three jobs, add that money together. So you have the money that's coming in minus the money that's going out, and you should have money left over. [00:52:45] Speaker B: If you don't, you're. [00:52:46] Speaker C: You're in a bad way to travel, okay? [00:52:49] Speaker A: So you have to make corrections there and live within your means. Friends of mine just got Starlink, and they love it. And I said, how much is it a month? Well, I said it's $300 for the equipment. [00:53:05] Speaker B: But guess what? [00:53:07] Speaker A: After that, it's $50 a month. And we were watching football on a big screen TV. Mean, a big, big screen TV. [00:53:17] Speaker B: I don't know. It's 56 inches or maybe bigger. [00:53:21] Speaker A: Yeah, it was. It was great. And I'm considering that. I just have to figure out what. [00:53:28] Speaker B: I want to do with my phone because I need a landline for phone. [00:53:32] Speaker A: I always like to have a backup. I've got a cell phone and I've got my landline. [00:53:37] Speaker C: Okay. [00:53:38] Speaker A: It's just me. So something I have to consider and. [00:53:45] Speaker B: Paying the 300 bucks once, that's no big deal. [00:53:48] Speaker C: Okay. [00:53:48] Speaker A: As long as I get the same Internet quality and stuff that works. [00:53:53] Speaker B: If the Internet goes down, I'll go. [00:53:54] Speaker A: Crazy because I won't be able to do the show. Okay, no applause, just. That's the way it is. Anyhow. [00:54:04] Speaker B: What else do we have? We have a short amount of time. [00:54:07] Speaker A: Oh, boy. I posted something about what Americans expect from Trump in the new era. And let's see if I can bring that up real quick. If I hit the right buttons, I'm good. However, when I jump around like this. [00:54:25] Speaker B: Because of time shortage, oh, we got problems. [00:54:31] Speaker A: What's going on? Things are starting to bog down here. [00:54:37] Speaker C: Okay. [00:54:37] Speaker A: What Americans are expecting out of Trump. Okay, this is according to Statista. It could be different in other types of surveys. [00:54:51] Speaker B: What he's got to do is control the illegal immigration. [00:54:54] Speaker C: Okay? [00:54:55] Speaker A: And that's 68 out of 100 people. Keep the nation out of war. [00:55:03] Speaker B: 55. Reduce the crime rate. 51. [00:55:06] Speaker A: Improve education. [00:55:08] Speaker B: 43. [00:55:09] Speaker A: Improve race relations. 41. You know, we didn't have a problem with race relations until Obama. Everybody kind of got along really good and then he kind of stirred stuff up. That's my opinion. [00:55:25] Speaker B: But that's also my observation. [00:55:27] Speaker A: Also. [00:55:28] Speaker B: Improve the health system. [00:55:30] Speaker A: Yeah, the health system here is gone too. You know what? In a hand basket. [00:55:36] Speaker B: It really has. [00:55:39] Speaker A: Sometimes in hospitals. It's not a good scene. Improve the quality of the environment, heal political division within the country. Yeah, that's true. We all start working together instead of on opposite sides of the spectrum, okay? [00:55:57] Speaker B: That's what they're expecting him to do. [00:55:58] Speaker A: And I thought I would pass that one on because, hey, that's something that. [00:56:03] Speaker B: We really need to work on. Just forget the political differences and get. [00:56:06] Speaker A: In there and get the job done, okay? If you're doing something illegal, you're doing. [00:56:11] Speaker B: It illegal and you deserve to be punished. Right? [00:56:16] Speaker A: If you're not doing something illegal, you're behaving yourself and Paying your taxes. Hey, that's fine. Okay, so we've got that one taken care of. Oh, and then we have our thing called the national debt. Oh yeah, national debt. How are we going to get out of it? Do you have any suggestions how we get out of national debt? Well, there it is. 36,3142-242250-00000. [00:56:51] Speaker B: See, it's moving very fast. The debt per citizen is $106,821. [00:56:57] Speaker A: And the debt per taxpayers is $323,045. Now look what we've taken in. I'm going to round it. I'm just going to say 5 trillion. [00:57:14] Speaker C: Okay? [00:57:15] Speaker B: We've spent 36. We're in the hole. [00:57:19] Speaker A: We've been in the hole probably ever since the Clinton administration. And it's just my, my guess on that. [00:57:27] Speaker C: Okay. [00:57:30] Speaker A: But this gives you a lot of real time statistics. Okay, check it out. It's the usdeccloth.org you have to check it out because I'll tell you what, you learn a lot from just going to this page. And you can go to other pages within it. [00:57:53] Speaker B: Home sales sources, auto sales, energy output, gold and precious metals. [00:58:01] Speaker A: Speaking of that, if you have any spare cash, you pay down your debt. [00:58:05] Speaker B: Put some money aside, buy long term. [00:58:06] Speaker A: Food, get ready for bad weather and so forth. And you have spare money. And if you want to put it into things like gold and silver, check the prices out. I don't care where you get it. I personally, I look at apmex and silver.com and a few others. But it's a good hedge for calamity. So you can get silver dollars, those are always good. [00:58:32] Speaker B: Gold's awful, awful expensive anymore. But you can buy the 10th ounce. [00:58:37] Speaker A: Pieces of gold and use those. They trade very, very well. But you have to fend off inflation, you have to fend off fiscal calamity. Don't keep all your money in one spot. [00:58:54] Speaker B: Always look out for the best deal. [00:58:57] Speaker C: Okay? [00:58:57] Speaker A: If it's too good to be true, then it is, don't do it. If somebody wants to get you into crypto coins, hey, that's expensive. [00:59:07] Speaker B: And your money can disappear very quickly. [00:59:10] Speaker A: And I've had people saying, oh, you. [00:59:11] Speaker B: Have to get into crypto, you just have to get into crypto. If you get into crypto, then what you have to do is go to.
